  1. *oh3* Pulse rising... *sick* Breath running out... *wacko* conscious fading... (Thud) *tongue* O-M-G! YES! FINALLY! Thank you soooooooooooooooo much! This is great! I'll be getting this bad boy as soon as I can and at whatever cost! Big G rulez! *wub* OK, after recovering from the excitement of seeing the instructions for my most anticipated Lego set ever, I wanna tell you my thoughts about it! The detail and seemingly solid build of this puppy are amazing! I love his heart, and the head and the legs are pretty good as well! The turning platform/stand with the name tag is just freakin sweet! *thumbup* There are still some things that bug me, though. I have to admit that I am pretty bummed by the immoblity of the arms! They are always at the same height. The upper pair have turning elbows in a set angle, but the lower pair only features twistable forearms! And about the connectivity of the arms: I was of course hoping for TLC to come up with some ingenious technique to connect the split arms, perhaps even in a still posable way, but what did they do? They included an extra pair of shoulder pads as an exchange for the secondary pair of arms! I think, Ill be doing some serious moding here. *hmpf_bad* Not cool, Lego... *thumbdown* Also, the chest plates and that thing around his neck look odd in these pics, but I hope they look better in real life. *look* And dont't hate me for saying this, but I was hoping for a bionicle style mask for the head with printed or sticker eyes and, although they did a pretty good job on his face, I am still not sure if I wouldn't prefer that. *blush* But, heck, he is General Grievous, and he looks good, and that's all that matters!!! *wink* UCS GG & more new pics SO FREAKIN ON!!! *grin*
  2. "Build your own UCS SW Character"? *oh* *sadnew* Hard to do... maybe. But AWESOME! *sweet* We can use an Oky Obi Wan statue to go with that Grievous! *cry_happy*
  3. My EB name is half a star wars reference and half a reference to my real name. My actual name is Okay. That's a Turkish name and is pronounced with an "uh" instead of an "a" so that it ends with an "eye" kind of sound. However, I just took the 'a' out of the name, leaving "Oky" which sounds like "Obi" and added the rest of the great Jedi master's name! Got it? *sweet* An alternative explanation of the 'Oky' part would be that the 'o' and the 'k' stand for the acronym "O.K." which is spelled "Okay", just like my first name, and the 'y' stands for my last name which begins with that letter. Pretty clever, huh? *grin*
  4. Do you want Star Wars chess? *sing* Hell Yeah! About time something like that would come around! :'-) A clone wars one would be wonderful, and a supersized one like the new castle chess with the trolls would be just fantastic!!! Would you buy Star Wars chess? Nope! :-P Only maybe if it's on sale for like half the price and looks too good to miss out on.
  5. I am working on different things right now. One thing is a steampunk vehicle/contraption that is based on an animal (I don't want to say more to not spoil the surprise ;-) ). The other thing is an expansion to the Block-Block universe (or "Total Trash" theme as we call it now). It's a construction mech. Also, I am working on a new Batmobile. Its design is kind of a mix between that of Tim Burton (with the turbine at the front) and that of "Batman: The Animated Series". A mygeeto diorama? *sweet* Sweet! I would suggest that you take one of the Star Wars Battlefront games as a reference. You should definitely build the battle damaged bridge! But don't include a Turbo Tank, it'll just take space, rather use a nice Fighter Tank moc! A big flak turret like in the game would be awesome too! In a battle scene, it is also always good to have some kind of vehicle wreck lying around! Use lots and lots of droids and phase 2 clones... and Ki Adi of course! ;-) And I don't know how much sense it would make, but it would be great if you could incorporate Grievous somehow! *wub* I hope this gave you some ideas and I am looking forward to seeing it! *sweet* Btw, I just made an interesting pair of "chicken legs" out of Bionicle parts that stand about 3 inches high. Does anyone have an idea what kind of small mech I could build on top of them? 8-|
  6. Hey, Guys! I just posted my entry. So, what do you think? Hilariously horrifying, huh? X-D I sure wouldn't be able to stand it! :-P Btw, nice contest! *y* A good way to use some dark humor! *skull* May the best (or most horrible ;-) ) chamber win!
  7. What is the ultimate torture? Being forced to listen to Jar Jar... SINGING KARAOKE!!! *sing* *sing* *sing* In my interpretation of the Chamber, bad kids get chained to the stage where Jar Jar sings, so that they are forced to listen to him forever! >:-) When you can't take it anymore, you can free yourself by sawing off your own hands with the provided saw! :-X This will also ensure that you will not spam anymore in the future! ;-)
  8. Well, I posted my entry! *sweet* What do you think? :-D OK, maybe this is not my final entry. It's not the best hotrod ever after all, but it was one of the funny ideas I had! X-D You may see it as a late april fools joke. ;-) However, I'll post as soon as I come up with something better. And excuse all the badly placed stickers - I was waiting for a good opportunity to use my hotrod stickers, and this was totally it! X-D May the hottest rod win! *y*
  9. V-LV-24F Block Block: Total Garbage - "Trashanator" Hotrod! *sweet* Hi everybody! This is my entry for this sweet contest! It's from the Block-Block universe - or the "Total Garbage" theme as we now call it, I believe. ;-) Its story is this: In order to be able to keep up with the good guys and to collect garbage faster, Lord Trash's evil garbage collecting skellie minions have put together the Trashanator! They used trash cans, shovels, the best parts they could find in the junkyard, and even a trash dumpster to build this awesome hotrod. And the best part is that its turbo-charged motor runs on garbage! X-D To make it look faster, too, they covered it with stickers. Will their efford pay off? Will they be able to defeat the competition? The poll will decide! ;-) Here are some more views: The trunk of the Trashanator is a trash dumpster that contains all of the garbage needed to fuel the motor and can be opened! You will find a lot of junk in that trunk! :-D Well I hope you like it and may the hottest rod win! ;-)
  10. So... do we call the theme "Total Garbage" from now on?
  11. Hi Cap, sweet contest! *y* It seems to be an unofficial, pimped-out EB Neighborhood Vehicles contest! YAY! :-D While I'm still thinking about which one of my ideas would knock everybody's socks off the most X-D , I have a question: are unofficial/custom stickers allowed?
  12. A long time ago, in a basement not so far away, somebody called "Maestro S. Fujita" made a picture story (kinda like a comic) of the Original Trilogy using only classic space parts. It's pretty amazing! You can find it on this website. Btw, there already is something like a remake of all star wars movies in legos... the cutscenes from "LEGO STAR WARS: The Complete Saga"! Just cut all of them together and you get an abridged version of all six episodes! Clonetriplesix has done such a thing and you can watch each Episode on YouTube! You can start with Episode 1 and go on from there. ;-) If there should ever be a stop-motion lego-recreation of SW, I hope they hire Tim Burton to do it! *sweet*
  13. *sweet* Thanks to all who voted for my entry and/or its theme name too! *y* You guys rock even harder! :-P Congrats to everybody, there are some good entries out there! But my vote (as many others apparently) goes to "Lord Trash's Factory"! It really looks like something TLC would produce, with all those <insert that tiresome argument> parts, stickers, vehicles, and consistent color scheme (which btw was a very nice interpretation/adaption from the theme logo!). Even the small prison cabin looks like it was designed by LEGO designers through its obviously simple design - it looks cheesy in a good way, you know? ;-) It reminds me of the "escape pod" from the first Millenium Falcon! :-D Very interesting background story too; it even makes kinda sense... in a silly way. X-D Good Job, Graynar! But my vote for best theme name goes to Hinckley's "Random Unnecessaries" as it exactly says what Block-Block is! X-D I am currently working on some Block-Block EU stuff, so look for it in the next couple of weeks! ;-)
  14. 8- What? Why? :'-( I was just giving some honest, constructive criticism! As I said, I'm sorry, but I just liked it better the way it was before. You wanted to know what I think and I told you. is that bad? :-( Sniff! :'-( Why does everybody hate me so? I'm just trying to be a good EBer but I always end up pissing off an admin. Really, I don't want to be a pain in your megablocks! What do I do wrong? How can I change? Btw, I just saw the Theatre and it looks great! Pretty sweet banners & backgrounds & stuff! *sweet*
  15. OK, even though I'm still recovering from not being able to access eurobricks for nearly 24 hours :-X I'm gonna tell you what I think! ;-) On the first look it seems pretty good: I love the new banner, and the background, although being a little distracting, looks very nice as well! Also, the dark color of the topic bars is interesting; it makes the whole page look more serious, reinforcing the fact that this is a website for adult fans of lego. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, though, since, even though we are adults, lego is our hobby, and this seriousness kinda takes the fun out of it. :-( And this is where the negative changes begin. Even though the new EB banner is lovely, its link now takes you to the frontpage instead of the forums, rendering the "Eurobricks Frontpage" link below it pointless. :-( I always liked the fact that I could just click somewhere on the big banner to get to the forums, but now I need to seek the small "Forums" word on the left side for that. Other than what is mentioned above, I can't really see any changes in the forums, but I do have some concerns about the reply page (the one you use to post something)! First of all, I'm not satisfied with any of the changes made to the emoticons! >:-( Not only are theynot showing right in most of the forums at the moment, but they are also marked when you insert them by clicking on them in the list on the side, so that they disappear right away as soon as you continue typing! And that emoticon list is now shortened to make room for an unnecessary Quick Access list, so that you need to click through them with 'next' & 'previous' buttons or open up the complete list in a new window by clicking the "Show All" link. |-/ In my opinion it would be better if it was the way it was before; it's easy enough to select Special Items from the pop-up menu above the text window, so that there is no need for Quick Access lists. It's easier than having to select emoticons from a remote window anyway. So, fix it! ;-) As for the layout, I think that too many elements recieved the blue-white gradient coloring. Those elements that contein text, like font option buttons, should only have one bright fill color, like they did before, as they create contrast issues. I have very bad vision, and things like that make it harder than usual for me to read stuff. And about the green background... Although green is my favorite color, I think it is inappopriate here. Not only does is it a "serious" kind of green, but it also doesn't fit into the blue white color scheme somehow. The only thing I like about the changes to the reply compose page is the attachments part below the text window. I'm not sure if it was there before, but even if it was, it is much more noticable and looks better now! ;-) I'm sorry, but overall, I don't like most of the changes so far. I hope that you will consider the things I listed and fix most of them (especially the emoticon part). Sincerly, A concerned, shortsighted EB member ;-)
  16. That IS a pretty sweet moc! Love the way you build the tires! Good Job! Wouldn't mind seeing some interior!
  17. 8-| Well? When?
  18. :-$ Oops! Sorry, I meant "unbelievable", and there is nothing to be offended by that - it just means that you are a silly goose, never taking my questions seriously and all, you know. ;-) Unless you find wrong grammar to be offensive! :-P But honestly, it would be nice if I wouldn't have to drive you insane everytime I would like to know something just to get a reasonable answer. :-/ I mean, I see that you have humor, and I respect that, but still... Wait, what am I saying? "Drive you insane"? According to you (and many others), you are already there! *wacko* So getting a "reasonable answer is practically impossible! :-P This doesn't make any sense! I think I'm going crazy too!!! *sing* NOOOOOOOOOOOO! :-D So, never mind, and don't worry, be happy! *y* And thanks for the explanaition! It makes sense and I understand now! ;-) Just one more thing: is Evil Lord Jocko the shrouded guy with the glowing Eyes? Btw, I can't blame the empire: I would go evil too if people would throw their mail next to the box instead of inside it! :-D
  19. Idk, it just seemed to be a logic/funny thing to build into a moc like this! X-D But I guess you're right - the dwarf probably relieves himself wherever he goes, like they did back then... or maybe on the bones of his stilled enemies! >:-) :-$ Er... From Hinckley's post! X-D
  20. Can anyone tell me when this poll will be over?
  21. Well, here is my theory: rating = (numeric) evaluation of quality (numeric) evaluation = more numbers & less comments, thoughts, and/or constructive critique MOCs = products of creativity creativity = unmeasurable rating of MOCs = bulls**t :-X :-P Idk if this is completely right or not and I don't want to offend any raters, it's just what I think the logical explanation of your problem with ratings might be! ;-) Well, looking at some of his mechs like the "SUB-WRabbit" you did a pretty good job capturing the same round building style! *y* |-/ |-/ |-/ You're unbelievable! :-P Is it even possible to get a serious answer from you in right away? Guess not. :-| No seriously, is it the winning contest entry?
  22. Yup, that's one awesome mech! *wub* The only thing I would have to criticize would be the way the cockpit is attached to the bridge between the legs - somehow it looks too thin and makes the cockpit look offset. This might be intended, but I think it might have looked better if the cockpit was set higher so that the upper back of it kind of directly connected to the big curved things on the bridge above it. 8-| But that's just me! :-P I REALLY love those railgun-arms, though! The "impenetrable fortress" is very beatifully designed as well, although I can't quite see the impenetrableness. X-D I mean, if you ask me, the Smash Mech could easily stomp (or smash) that thing into the ground! :-D However, I also think your theme name is great! *y* It totally says what Block-Block is! ;-) Is it a refference to the Jungle Book's "Bare Necessities"? Perhaps a version of that song with altered lyrics could be the Block-Block theme song! :-D Now, could you please answer me a question, Hinckley, I don't quite understand what kind of universe we created here. I mean what theme is it beased on? We all have our own interpretations of it. Is that what it's all about; is it whatever we think it is, or do we agree on just one of them? If it's the latter, what is it that defines it? Your MOC? Or perhaps the winning entry in the contest? Which is it? Sorry I'm asking so many questions again *wacko* ; I'm just trying to understand and don't know how to put it. :-$ PS: I can't stand saying "Block-Block" no more |-/ and can't wait for us to decide on a real theme name! When will the polls be over?
  23. I just found another flaw in the design: WHERE IS THE BATHROOM ON THIS THING? :-D If this is a dwarf (with a small bladder) who drives around in his tank drinking the booze it produces all the time, he's gonna have certain "duties" afterwards, isn't he? X-D Else, it's a simple but interesting moc, though. Just like necessity is the mother of invention, boredom is the mother of creativity, I guess. ;-) Good job! *y*
  24. Well, I posted the rest of my entry. So, what do you think? Is this one cool set or what? X-D Are the action shots too much? Do I need to add a deeper description of how it fits into the theme, or does the story and the coolness of the set speak for itself? X-D And why am I asking all these questions? Oh, right, forgot... :-| piece of poo... :-D Everything in my entry was inspired by the picture Hinckley found: the post-apoc setting (the ruins), the characters, the design of the ship, and even the thing with the superpowers (look at the speed lines behind strider and at how much the girls look alike! Only the story of the Hora Emeralds came out of my idea to build a secret compartment into the ship and my love for time travel stories! X-D Excuse those silly names, though, I'm not into anime and don't know any real japanese names; and even though the main character in my entry has the same name as the one in strider, it's got nothing to do with the game - it's just because I was too lazy to come up with a Japanese-ish name that sounds just as good. :-P I don't expect to win with all those awesome entries out there, but I sure could use that custom minifig! *wub*
  25. I like it! The same thing could be done in tiny turbos scale!
