I think there already is a thread about misprints around here somewhere... Anyway, I had to get a replacement for my Wald fig from the podracers set because his eyes were horribly misprinted too, and they told me that they can only replace the part once. But you can always try again, I suppose. Aren't the eyes on the Geonosian supposed to be kinda high up though? (pic from Bricklink) EDIT: I just got the set today, and mine looks pretty much like the one in the pic above, so if yours looks like that too, I'd say that's how it's supposed to be.

DC and Marvel in the same videogame? Unless they're opposing sides, no way! I can definitely see them making a Lego Batman 2, perhaps this time based on the Nolan trilogy, but yeah, it would be awesome if they made a game with all the DC heroes. However, it would be even more awesome if they made an Avengers game! They could make a few levels for the origin story/movie of each avenger, and then some for the Avengers movie!

Thanks! Yeah, I suppose I could have tried to make the lighting in the Fire Lord pic match better, but I thought it looks close enough.

Your eyes do not deceive you, young padawan, it's indeed a 1x4 curved slope, but it's not really a new part. It's this piece from the Cars sets. And yes, that new TIE does look fantastic except for that odd window, and so does Amidala! Like everyone else, I'm curious to see what kind of set she will come in.

Well, I'm no "hardcore Transformers fan", and I don't know anything about the toys, but I do enjoy the TF Prime series. I like the dark tone and the visuals are pretty well done. The art style is indeed a good mix of the Animated and the Bay styles. The new movie, Dark of the Moon, was pretty good too. It was exactly what I expected anyway - a visual effects-laden movie about giant transforming robots beating the scrap out of each other while Shia LaBeouf is being the idiot that he is on the side with a chick that's way too hot for him. In fact, he and his unrealistic relationship is probably the only thing I didn't like about the movie. Well, that and the nearly complete lack of a plot, but hey, that's Bay for ya. I'm not bashing Bay, it's just what I have come to expect from him. That said, I'm very glad to hear that he and LaBeouf wont be involved with the next movie(s) while Spielberg stays and Jason Statham might take LaBeouf's place! And I have to disagree with you. I'm a big fan of Animated and wouldn't describe it as campy and immature. Lighthearted, perhaps, especially some of the episodes, but that was partly what made it so fun to watch. And its storytelling was great in my opinion, perhaps even better than that of TF Prime. Plus I enjoyed the futuristic setting. As for the art style, while I prefer Transformers to look more robotic too, I think the streamlined look worked for the show.

Well, I was only partly joking. TLG putting the main character into every set has both its ups and downs. On one hand, it allows you to get the character in even the cheapest set, but on the other, you end up with a useless army of that character if you buy all the sets whereas you could have gotten new characters. With the Lego Super Heroes theme, however, I am most definitely against clones, considering that they have access to the entire library of both Marvel and DC characters! And since it's a general superheroes theme that doesn't focus on the adventures of a single character like previous licenses, it's fortunately unlikely that they will put one character in all the sets. Well, except Batman maybe, but who doesn't want a Batman at this point? Anyway, let's not get off-topic. Any comments on the new funnies?

Hm... Well, out of those two choices, I'd go with the HP troll, but I agree with Legocrazy81 that it would be better if you build them yourself.

Nice review, thanks! But I don't believe that that's Chrome Gold. Looks like metallic gold to me.

Hehe, nice. But shouldn't that be "Hello Bessy"? Thanks for the compliments once again, everyone! Here are some more from me:

I just noticed that the Green Lantern fig seems to be inspired by the movie version due to the green hands and chest symbol, whereas the constraction figure is based on the comic version. Interesting. Does anyone know if you can enter the contest more than once per month? By the way, I find it very confusing that we have two threads about this theme. Can't somebody please merge them and call it "Lego Super Heroes Discussion" or something?
-
Nice work! It looks very accurate. But you're missing one crucial part: The house point hour glasses! Also, the fireplace should be on the right side of the hall. And what poll are you talking about? Anyway, keep up the good work!

Well, Nick Fury is already confirmed, and we already got sharks with lasers. Yeah, I always thought GL would make a great Lego theme because of the imagination theme and all the cool alien characters. I mean, his weapons are called "constructs" for pete's sake! There are so many cool sets and minifigs to be made from that theme alone! I really hope they give enough focus on GL. I agree. If anything, these Batman figs are even closer to the comics and BTAS than the old figs were. Do you even know what next year's SW sets are? Yeah, it looks so lame!
-
Yeah, I guess you have a point about the specific pieces. I never said it is better, just that it looks better. And it's shiny! Never underestimate the power of shiny Lego pieces! Ooh, burn!
-
I gotta say, I actually kinda like the look of the action figures MegaBloks made, despite their ridiculously large ball joints. In a way, their Iron Man looks better than Lego's.
-
Thanks, Hinck, those are some excellent pics, but they probably should be posted here. Because Hulk is much bigger than a normal person, just like the wampa.
-
Oh man, those constraction figures look ridiculous! I'm pretty disappointed. But at least Iron Man looks decent. I might get him if the price isn't too high. Batman was the only other one I was interested in, but he looks stupid with those spider legs coming out of his back, and I've hardly ever seen him wield a staff like that. If they add some cloth in order to make them look more like wings, I might change my mind. And on the bright side, it's a good starting point for a Batmech MOC. The way I see it is that the one in the teaser is the one that comes in the Dark Knight Rises sets, and the classic Bats is the one that comes in the DC Universe/Classic Batman sets. He doesn't wear a helmet in the movies, and I actually like the hair color. It's more accurate to the comics, so you kinda get the best of both worlds. And yes, that Cap does remind a lot of yours!
-
Hehe, yeah, I was already planning a single-pane licensed funny with that title where the Avengers figs put themselves together.
-
Actually, it didn't. You mean a racing helmet? No thanks, I'd rather take the official version. I do agree, though, that just a printed head might have been better, but then again, we wouldn't get a Tony Stark head in that case.
-
Thanks! Perhaps there will be more later.

I know; my question was more directed at meat1980 anyway. By the way, does anyone think they will make buildable versions of some marvel characters as well? I mean, wouldn't a Build-a-Iron-Man make more sense than a Build-a-Joker?
-
Thanks for the pics! Oh my gosh, the Batman figs are beautiful! Especially Ivy! WW is great too! I, for one, love the way they made Hulk. He is nice and detailed while still looking a bit like a minifig with that round head. He just wouldn't have looked right as a small minifig. Iron Man on the other hand is indeed a disappointment. That helmet just looks weird. Hopefully that will change in the final version. Thor, Cap, and Wolverine are pretty good though. I hope they make Wolverine's mask too. And yeah, Joker does look a bit feminine, but still better than that weirdo from the first waves. Not to be greedy, but were these the only things on display?
-
Well, obviously, since they're making the Avengers, and he's the first Avenger! Does anyone think they will make Batman Beyond or Teen Titans sets?
-
I gotta admit that I too am much more excited for the marvel sets than the DC ones, with the only possible exception being Batman and maybe Green Lantern. Heck, I'll probably get Superman and Aquaman (if they make one) only to make fun of them in MOCs. Ooh, GL looks pretty good! Supes' head looks a bit weird, but not too shabby. Well, if they make him (and they better do!) they'll probably just throw him in a set with the other JL members. So... you take take the word of somebody on Facebook over an official press release? And the Toy Story sets may not look like traditional Lego, but they are. If they show him on the website and make a buildable version of him, I'm sure he will be in regular sets too.
-
YES! Avengers, X-Men, and Spidey! This is too good to be true! But no Fantastic Four? Oh well, maybe in a later wave. I'm curious about the buildable characters. Buzz and Zurg were kinda meh, but at least they were good parts packs. Hopefully they do a decent job on these. I litterally can't wait for pics!

Dear Lego Group, YOU ROCK!!! That is all. Please tell me I'm not dreaming! Complete character library... multi-year license... Oh my! This is going to be a very, very merry Christmas! Bring on 2012! I just hope this doesn't nullify the rumors of an Avengers license. If we get both... well, then the Mayans will be proven right as the world will most likely implode from the sheer awesomenes. Now excuse me while I completely geek out.
