  1. Great work again, Pengy! You really captured the Ravenclaw spirit with all the bookshelves and blue couches, and that balcony even reminds me of the one from the videogame a bit. Excellent minifigures too, as usual, although Quirrell's turban came out a bit too pinkish. Then again, that might just be your overly bright photography again.
  2. Oh, you're right! Good call!
  3. I think so too. They do or they don't? If they don't, why did you mention it? By the way, that reminds me that the runes on the shield on the Heroica dice spell "Heroica" three times. Not sure if that counts as an easter egg, but it's a fun fact nonetheless.
  4. Sweet! My favorite color is green, so this is a pleasant surprise for me! Although I do wonder if Jango Fett wouldn't have been a better choice. Just imagine: Purple-silver packaging! Oh well, this looks great too, so I'm looking forward to see these boxes on the shelves! Because awesome he is, yes. Maybe because this was the first time when we saw him in action? I don't know. Again, I think Jango would have made more sense since the movie is about him and his clones.
  5. I agree, there are far worse minifigs than Iron Man, especially from the early days of Star Wars. Why the heck would a Skrull be on a motorcycle? I think they just put the driver of Loki's transport on Wolverine's bike. Uhm, no. The Cap set only comes with the modern bike mold. The chassis is the same though, if that's what you're asking.
  6. In the Super Heroes set 6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout, one of the computer screens is displaying the arcade game Space Invaders, which is funny because the movie the set is based on revolves around an alien invasion. The same set also includes barrels with the Octan color scheme. Coincidence? Unlikely. While this may be common place in non-licensed Lego sets, I'm pretty sure it counts as an easter egg in licensed sets.
  7. Oh, this creation just oozes with cynicism, and it is no surprise that our old friend StoutFiles is behind it. Nice work though. It really looks accurate. A good follow-up MOC would be a UCS catapult. After all, the only thing more fun, more awesome, and more life-fulfilling than flicking missiles is flinging stuff in the air, and TLG knows it! Seriously though, I gotta agree with Fallenangel here. While I wasn't a fan of the flick-fires at first, I have gotten used to them, and as long as the missiles don't take away from the aesthetics of a set or get in the way otherwise, I don't mind them. For kids, they provide more play value than they would if they weren't there, and playability is what a toy is all about. The best thing about it is that it is a building toy, so if you don't like them, you can just take them out.
  8. Sounds plausible to me. The game was nowhere to be seen in the NY TF pics and vids, so I guess it must be true. Curse you, Hasbro! (I'm sure they've got something to do with this. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they stole the idea and made their own buildable SW boardgame. )
  9. Wow! That is awesome on so many levels! The only thing I don't like about it is how they have mixed the OT with PT, but it's amazing all the same! Apparently the creators were this company. Click here for more pics.
  10. I believe the Geisha look was the inspiration for the original costume anyway, so that's not really a bad thing.
  11. Well, I'm not sure if it looking weird is a good thing since that wasn't my intention, but I'm glad you like it. Thanks. Hm, not a bad idea actually... But I don't know if I have enough bricks in the right color. Besides, nobody would like it no matter how good it turns out. It would be if I still had it. I think I disassembled it a year after I built it. This photo is all that remains of it. Like WampaStompa said, she always has this kind of concerned face because she is worried about her people. Plus she has to work together with Gungans in order to save them.
  12. Hehe, very nice. I like how you tend to recreate the more humorous scenes. I especially like the last picture. I feel like the bridge could use some more detail though. Also, this is not how they first met. This is actually the third time.
  13. Thank you. Yes, brown probably would have been better, but even after 10 years, I don't think I would have enough brown bricks for that. And yes, the head did come out kind of thin. Oh well. May I ask why? Thanks. Yes, I did indeed run out of bricks. If I would have had more, I would have made the body a lot bigger. Hm... Well, it's 73 bricks high, so if we do the math, it's 70cm tall, which is about two and a half feet.
  14. OK, here's my own entry:
  15. Hi everyone. Being the host of this great little community build, I feel obligated to contribute something that will inspire all the other participants. And so, I present to you my sculpture of the fair Queen of Naboo! This is actually an old MOC I built way back in spring 2002, but since I never shared it and was always quite proud of it, I figured I'd enter it in the build. Sadly, this is the only useful picture I have of it. Sorry. Comments and criticisms are welcome, although keep in mind that I made this when I was 14 years old and didn't have any good reference material.
  16. I like it. Lots of nice greeble here, and like Lightningtiger said, the inclusion of the LEDs really adds to it! I'm guessing that's not supposed to be C-3PO in the backroom? Because he is supposed to be sitting "naked" in Anakin's room.
  17. Excellent work again, AC! The scene looks very accurate. I like how you use minifigs and sets from the first waves. It gives your entries a nice nostalgic touch, even though they don't match the high quality of the MOCs they are being used in.
  18. As I already said 2 pages ago, the line is confirmed to stop production in July. Why would they label the minifig with the name of the theme instead of that of the character? It's not like it would come with a Star Wars minifig. And the image looks pretty legit to me. I personally wouldn't mind a Deathly Hallows Harry with dirty clothes and possibly a dirty face and short hair.
  19. I think it's too early to tell. The fact that they weren't at TF doesn't prove anything. After all, the Spidey set wasn't there either, and that one is known to be released together with the ones that were shown. There is no room for TDKR sets in this wave of Super Heroes sets, so if they do happen, they'll be in the third wave. By the way, I think it's too early to call the Quinjet set overpriced too, considering that we have only seen about half of the set so far. Same goes for the Avenging Cycle.
  20. Too bad we have to wait two weeks for the next episode. It sounds promising. I agree with Cloney, I think Sidious had the Order 66 plan from the start (since it was part of the clones' training) and was just waiting for Anakin to join him before he issued the order. So, if he wasn't eager to get rid of Dooku or didn't think Anakin was ready yet, why would he take the risk of having the two confront each other? What if Anakin would have killed Dooku? What if Dooku won and got away with the chancellor? If all he wanted to do was to make Anakin envious, those outcomes wouldn't make any sense. I think he was probably ready to set his plan into motion if Anakin would have killed Dooku at this point since there would have been no way back then either. He could have easily proceeded exactly the same way he did after they crashed the Invisible Hand in ROTS.
  21. Some interesting points, but I'll stick with my theory that this was a failed attempt to draw Anakin to the dark side, seeing as this plan was so similar to the one in ROTS. This seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through just to make Anakin a bit more envious. I think that was just a plan B after plan A failed, since Sidious always sets situations up so that he wins either way. And I disagree on your statement that he toppled the Jedi Order all by himself. He wasn't the one who killed all (or most) of the Jedi, Vader was. He needed a right-hand man to do all his dirty work and protect him. The fact that he was the Jedi's hope was just a bit of added irony.
  22. I don't really get all the complaints about these sets at all. I think they all look great, except maybe the X-Men set, but what it lacks in set design it most certainly makes up for in minifigs! Deadpool is freaking perfect! Even Iron Man's helmet is growing on me, even though I still wish they would have gone with a printed minifig head like on the exclusive fig, but oh well. I can't wait to get all of these! It is indeed disappointing, though, that we didn't even get a peek at Spidey and Doc Ock. Looking at the Hobbit boardgame, I can't help but wonder if there will be a Super Heroes boardgame down the line.
  23. Brickdoctor is right, adaption is a better word to describe chibi and other stylized versions of something, but that's beside the point. I never said adaptions were bad, just that there is a difference between those and a recreation, which is what JackJonespaw is going for according to his earlier posts. So yeah, let's stop this off-topic argument and let's see what he comes up with next!
  24. I thought it was a great episode! You can read my and Brickdoctor's review of it here: http://eurobricksstarwarsforum.com/2012/02/14/the-clone-wars-review-crisis-on-naboo/ If you think the episode didn't have a plot or that it didn't make sense, I strongly advice you to read it because I tried to explain everything!
  25. Very good, JimB! Nice to see you mocing again. I like how you did the window. I gotta agree with Legoman that the whole scene seems downsized, but it doesn't bother me too much since it looks kinda cute this way.
