Technic Update
jadedomg replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I don't understand how they could do the indiana jones line according to those standards, it was post ww2 and had 'war vehicles' It is the one line that seems to stick out breaking the standards they have. -

That loom blows me away, it is just so different from what I have seen done in the past. Great work. -

This blows me away, it looks great and is huge. I love the scale with the unimog tires. -

This is great, I really hope it gets approval. -
The back of my poster (canada) was 48,000 something. I am guessing it was for each region as it ships from the USA for us.

Maybe a flagship Bagger 288 excavator ? That would get me pretty excited! -
I loved alien conquest and that photo at the top of the page is so amazing and sad at the same time. The tank really does compliment the HQ and the mothership is great.

Tugboat Smit Bronco
jadedomg replied to Edwin Korstanje's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This boat is amazing, I never thought of seeing a technic tug boat then I see this crazy detailed and accurate one. I can just imagine the difficulty because the way you have to work with studdless beams. The lime green looks great too I love it. -
A hour and a half drive and I go from Canada to USA and can save 20% or more on sets. It is frustrating. The lego I buy from S&H comes from the USA no less. I understand there is differences in the supply chain and countries have different tax rates and import fees. I generally wait until someplace has lego on sale for 20% off to buy it just because I know the sale will come and that at least makes it on par with the american prices. It is bad when you need a sale to be 'equal'.

Old Style beams
jadedomg replied to Tacker's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
8868 is one of my favorite sets and it really does look great in both forms. Studded bricks are great for building supports as it just feels strong to me. If it isn't strong enough you can throw plates on it to make it stronger where it is more difficult to do that with studdless. -
I wanted the UCS R2 since I saw it so its the perfect time to pick it up even though tc-14 doesn't do much for me I hope they are running more deals than just the free figure.

2h 2012 models
jadedomg replied to TAFOL's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I really really like the helicopter, and I like the fact it doesn't include power functions but is compatable. I just hope they do a better job then this years tow truck and don't have the motor just sticking out. The tractor doesn't do much for me :( I want to like it but I guess until I see it closer it just doesn't grab me like the helicopter does. -
Finished the survey it was long and in depth. Can't wait to see the results.

Technic NOOB : What to buy ?
jadedomg replied to MarkV's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Of those two the unimog is definatly the one to go with, the pneumatics are great and not seen much anymore and the ball type joints and the entire suspension of the vehicle is highly useful in MOC's. You even get a new axle type hub, and 8 gray studless plates in the bed that are handy to have. Overall it is a great set and if I can find it on sale I will buy a second one. 8070 supercar is really nice too just from a parts selection, so while you may not like it grabbing it on sale to build different stuff out of it wouldn't be a bad idea. it has everything you need to build almost any style of car. -
This is really nice and just makes me even sadder Lego dropped AC after just one wave. The capture container filled with humans and them being examined by the grays is great!

It really does scream babylon 5, you did a great job!

I usually wait until I have $25 or so to use them unless its double vip points as you lose out on the double points.
