The black hands are accurate, since the Jedi who wear the clone gauntlets at the start of the war also wear the black clone gloves. -

I mean none of those 3 ships/vehicles have appeared a lot in Star Wars media, but the Soulless One does get the slight edge there. And you’re better off without the Malevolence, since all the characters are in the Clone Wars style and IMO the build doesn’t capture the ship’s look very well. Both the Wheel Bike and Grievous’s Starfighter are great sets (aside from the price), so you wouldn’t have gone wrong with either one. And hopefully in the future Lego remakes a Wheel Bike set with Boga in it, in which case you’ll be better off for waiting. -

If you don’t count the one from Duel on Mustafar, the last Revenge of the Sith or Clone Wars Anakin without a headset came in the Coruscant Police Gunship in 2014. And the last time we got Episode 2 style Anakin was in Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter in 2015. -

I don’t know, to me it still looks just as bad and inaccurate. Basically a downsized and simplified version of the ugly 2008 one. The Mace Windu looks phenomenal though. -

The 2nd point is a fair point. The people mentioned in the first point seem completely ridiculous. We all collect Star Wars sets because we love Star Wars and want to have a Lego representation of what we see on screen. If you want the minifigures that you own to be rare and other people have a lower chance of acquiring them then you’re not a Star Wars fan, you’re just a crazy person obsessed with hoarding a bunch of pieces of plastic. -

Why would you want them to be exclusive? As fans we should want the best versions of the figures in every set they appear in, and people can buy the trash compactor if they like the build, not because they think it’s their only option to have a really good C-3PO and R2. The only people that should care about exclusivity are re-sellers, and Lego definitely shouldn’t be catering to them. -

That’s fair. I personally dislike this set more than the ones you mentioned, but they’re all good options for the worst set. -

Aside from 4+ sets, microfighters, or polybags, which sets have we gotten in recent years that are more inaccurate than this one? Maybe the size of the AT-RT, but at least it has correct proportions. The AAT and Lambda-class shuttle are bad, but not as bad as this IMO. The Republic Fighter Tank looks like a set from 2007, and what makes it so bad is that it’s such an egregious step back from the model from 5 years ago. And I’m sure there’s people who are coming from a different point of view than me as Lego fans first and Star Wars fans second, but I have no interest in a “Star Wars” thing that has nothing to do with any story and was just created by a toy company for the sake of creating it. In my opinion the figures in the set aren’t fantastic, because we have one great figure in Mace Windu, 2 normal B1s, and 3 clones that have no story significance whatsoever, and are created in Lego’s bad and inaccurate clone style. -

In my opinion, the target market for the 18+ sets (including the helmets & meditation chamber) is people who like Star Wars, but aren’t necessarily Lego fans. The main consumers of these sets are older people who only like the Original Trilogy and have more disposable income because they’ve been in the workforce for decades. A lot of these people regularly spend $30 on a single action figure, so they won’t balk at spending $80 on a helmet bust or a trench run diorama. And they aren’t as well acquainted with Lego, so they don’t know that these particular sets are overpriced compared to the rest of the sets. And there’s so many of these 40 to 50 year olds who can buy these sorts of things but don’t buy other Lego, which is why they sell well in spite of Lego fans generally disliking them. (Or disliking the price at least.) -

I agree that a lot of people have ridiculous complaints about the amount of studs on Lego sets, but the sets should at least try to have the proportions of the thing they’re trying to portray. The Republic Fighter Tank honestly looks exactly like something I would make as a 9 year old with my limited brick selection and limited design skills. This is the equivalent of if Lego made a Death Star as an ovoid instead of a sphere. It doesn’t look like they were even trying. It would have been a hundred times better if they had just re-released the previous version. -

I don’t understand how Lego can make builds that they’ve already made so much worse. (AAT and Republic Fighter Tank) Dual moulding on the Mace Windu fig is great, so maybe I’ll pick this up if it goes on clearance in 2024. (If we don’t have another set with Mace in it by then.) -

The Stormtrooper printing could be better, but it’s not a step back. The torso barely changed, and the legs only changed around the hips/crotch area, which is just as (if not more) accurate as it was before. All we know is the AT-TE is $140 and the Jedi Starfighter is $30 and they’re coming in August. The C-3PO in the Trash Compactor has arm and foot printing. The C-3PO with arm printing, foot printing, and a dual-moulded leg is from the UCS Landspeeder. Wow, the build for the Republic Tank is just terrible. A significant step back from the previous one. That and the weird action figure clones might make this one of the worst sets in years. -

And Threepio has arm printing! I really hope this is the norm now for both characters, and not just a thing because it’s an 18+ set. And I guess on the bright side this version of C-3PO could be used for a more accurate Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith, Rebels, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker C-3PO since there’s less silver on his right leg. And finally after 23 years and 53 sets, R2-D2 has back printing for the first time. -

I think the worst thing about this is that they put in this effort to make an amazing fig for a UCS set that isn’t close to minifig scale, but they won’t do it for an even more expensive MBS set that’s meant for minifigures. -

The Threepio is amazing. I love the dual-moulded light grey leg. Too bad he’s probably going to be held behind expensive/hard to find sets like Vader with arm printing. -

That $90 price point has to be a mistake. I do love the fact that they have Luke with dark tan hair to represent it being wet. -

Don’t worry about getting more Attack of the Clones sets. (Specifically the Gunship) The Skywalker Saga movies will always be a well that Lego continues to go back to. And even though it seems like the people in charge of what sets are made by Lego are obsessed with just the OT, eventually they’ll be replaced with the next generation of more open-minded people who don’t think the OT is vastly superior to the other trilogies. And I can certainly sympathize with the fact that my favourite movie, the Rise of Skywalker, has gotten a grand total of 2 sets since the movie was released, with both sets being designs that were created before the movie came out. And it’s the finale of the Skywalker Saga, which is as important as Star Wars content can get. Am I going to have to wait a decade before we can get an episode IX Sheev, IX Rose, Klaud, or Babu Frik minifigure? And when it comes to the non-Skywalker Saga sets it definitely gets worse. At this point there’s so much Star Wars content, that unfortunately Lego probably isn’t going to be able to revisit anything but the Skywalker Saga movies (other than sets made off of the show/movie immediately after it airs). Anyways Rebels is really unfortunate that it likely isn’t coming back, but the Episode II sets are definitely only a matter of time. -

That is clearly completely fake. Not only does that wave not fit into the remaining sets for this year, but having an entire wave for the release of a TV show is completely off the mark of how Lego handles Disney+ content. And it’s awfully convenient that all of these sets happen to appear in the trailer, and this rumour just happens to come out the day after the trailer drops. -

I hadn’t even thought that the numbers were applying to both. But that makes a lot of sense. Which means that the Inquisitor who looks like a Tholothian is probably the Fourth Sister. -

I mean the only difference between Mace in the Clone Wars and him in the movies is the Clone wrist guards and gloves, so unless Lego gives him dual-moulding (which is extremely unlikely) then all they’d do is change his arms to white and hands to black. In which case I’d rather movie accurate ones, and you can switch it out for white arms if you want to. The troop selection is so extremely weird. 2 based on action figures from 2007 and one made up entirely. This is definitely one I’m not going to get, because it comes with clones that didn’t appear in any media in Lego’s stylized design. A Mace Windu might make it a bit more tempting since I don’t have him yet, but it won’t be small enough to justify buying it for just Mace. -

I agree. People seem to forget that pretty much every Force Ghost (with the exception of Luke on Ahch-To) have more of a blue glow outline than actually looking blue themselves. But yeah, this would need a new mould for Yoda, and wouldn’t work for Obi-Wan sitting down in ROTJ or any of Luke on Ahch-To in TROS. Or Yoda and his stick in TLJ for that matter. -

Due to the fact that a hair piece isn’t in the images, I’d say 100%. Although the images also don’t show a brick separator, which should definitely be there at the price point, so maybe they don’t have the final images, or just don’t show every piece in the first image. (Like they don’t show brick separators on the first helmet set images) But I’m still fairly certain it won’t be there. If the Force Ghost Piece is legitimate, that’s an interesting way of doing it, although it means they’d need to make another mould for Yoda. I don’t dislike the overall look, but the lack of flexibility is a bit annoying, specifically for Obi-Wan on Dagobah. -

Finally! Now I wonder which scene his facial hair will look like out of the 3 times we’ve seen his face. We have: Cleanshaven with facial scars from Season 1. Moustache and thin chinstrap from Chapter 15. Stubble from the Season 2 finale. I’d guess the Chapter 16 look would be the one they’d use, since that’s the most memorable scene. And his hair should be the common short hair used for characters including Force Awakens Han Solo in dark brown. On a side note, I love the fact that between Chapter 15 and 16 Din looks like he’s shaved, got a haircut, and his hair has gotten decent amount greyer. I guess the stress of missing Grogu really aged him. -

I mean Anakin’s Eta-2 Interceptor was $30 USD in 2020, and it only had one more piece than our most recent Delta-7 Starfighter (Anakin’s) from 2018. (248 vs. 247 pieces) And both of those sets only came with 2 minifigures (Anakin and R2). Also the $20 price point in 2018 seems to be a bit of an outlier, since Plo Koon’s Starfighter (2010, 175 pieces) was $25 and Saesee Tiin’s Starfighter (2012, 244 pieces) was $30.
