  1. I’ve gone back and forth on this a few times. It sort of makes sense to sell the Batmobile and Batwing separately to reserve the piece count for the other parts of the build, and we’ve seen precedent recently with the Hulkbuster for tying sets together. And to top it off, LEGO definitely has a history with the ‘89 version. On the other hand, the Keaton cave with that many pieces and no vehicles would seem rather empty. It isn’t nearly as busy at it’s comic equivalents. It would kind of just be a very large open area. It also wouldn’t lend itself to much of a fig selection. And I feel like a cave with no vehicles is a HARD sell to most people.
  2. This set is 100% just a way to sell people nine minifigs at $100.
  3. Ehhh idk. I’d rather take the opportunity to get Bat characters we aren’t getting elsewhere *cough cough Azrael cough*
  4. At the end of the day, there really isn't all that much difference between the Keaton cave and the BTAS cave. Or even the first Nolan cave. They're all just big open spaces with a parking spot and a supercomputer with some other small things sprinkled in. I think they kind of have to go comic route at the price point they're asking for. I'd normally say that LEGO has to know people will riot if they charge $450 for a Batcave and don't include a dinosaur, Joker card, or Penny...but the Black Panther bust and Hulkbuster built around a buildable figure have me questioning if LEGO really has a pulse on the fanbase.
  5. I'm surprised no one has mentioned getting a talon. The Court of Owls pretty famously invaded the Batcave. I could also see them making a cheeky reference to Batman '89 by including Vicki Vale.
  6. Sure, you could Frankenstein it together. But keep in mind they were able to plaster "DAILY BUGLE" on the outside of the bugle, and some TV screens and whatnot to make it more interesting. The Manor is just going to be a Victorian looking thing. Not saying it can't be done, but I think it's far more a challenge than the Bugle to make interesting. The Bugle really benefits from seamlessly sliding into existing Lego Cities in a way that would be more challenging with a mansion with a cave underneath.
  7. Think of it as a really expensive and well done diorama. I'm happy they've gone this route; I can't for the life of me figure out why people want the Manor so badly, and it would cost a fortune. Can anyone name a single interesting part of the Manor aside from the various depictions of the entrance to the cave (which we got in the '66 Batcave)? Depending on the footprint of the cave, I may try to MOC a section of the Manor from parts from the Big Ben set, but I'm glad I don't have to pay extra for it as part of the Batcave set.
  8. It's not really an issue, but I think we're looking at less figs than the Bugle and I would hope that they skew more towards that Bat-Family. I don't need another Joker or Harley (although I'm sure we'll get them). I'm hoping this sells well and we get an Arkham that is more villain based.
  9. Animated Series Batmobile would be cool. After someone mentioned the buildable Batman fitting inside a Batmobile though I have a very bad feeling.
  10. Considering that that’s an actual building in England, I tend to doubt it. I’m not a lawyer but I’m pretty sure you need the rights to buildings. There was something weird about the Freedom Tower in Marvel’s Spider-Man (when the remaster came out, it wasn’t included because they didn’t renew some licensing deal).
  11. Remake of Keatonmobile seems silly. The last one was perfect anyways. The only vehicle left is '66, but I'm very skeptical it could sell at that price point. Even if we add $50 to the price of the Keatonmobile to account for inflation, that would be $150 more. That's very large. '66 is also beloved but a bit niche for something that price. But hey, this is also the company that gave us the Black Panther bust and absurd Hulkbuster. So maybe? I still think the Manor/Batcave is a very challenging build for anything sub-$750. There's just so much open air that the footprint is very large. It's possible but at the listed piece count I'm not sure how good it would be. And also why would all the villains be at the Batcave? Arkham makes so much more sense.
  12. I suspect when we see the NWH set we'll realize not much budget was put into it at all. $100 feels like a price they thought they could get for just the figs, and then just threw in an obligatory side build. I think LEGO knows people will buy it for the figs alone and that's why we're not getting a more expensive version. $100 sits at the perfect intersection of "pricey but accessible".
  13. Four words: ”brick built Michael Gough”
  14. Yeah I don’t think Miller was destined to come back after the movie anyways due to the new universe, so it’s not like you’re influencing any future decision on their future.
  15. Happy for those who didn't get to pick up the '89 Batmobile or Batwing. As someone who has them, it's a bit disappointing. Was hoping for some comic book stuff or a new Arkham. But of course, I'll buy them lol.
  16. If it's a tie-in, that set is more imminent than expected.
  17. Very interesting. We've come a long ways from the freakout over the Batman Returns happy meal toys. Figured Lego would go to the Batman Forever well before BR.
  18. Would love a Ra's fig as Batman Begins is my all-time favorite superhero movie, but I suspect the Tumbler that was notionally from BB is as much from that movie as we'll ever see. Probably more likely to get a Jim Carrey-esque Riddler in a comic based set. I doubt they would do a straight up Batman Forever set, but might do something like they did with the Penguin set that was clearly from Batman Returns aside from the Penguin fig.
  19. Highly recommend. It holds up really well, particularly because it didn't have the same constraints on it that the Spider-Man show did. The character designs are near perfect, and the Art Deco aesthetic is just *chefs kiss*. The set captures it really well. And the chance to get a Mark Hamill Joker fig is just incredible. It will be interesting to see if any of the other summer sets are BTAS themed. If this is a one off, these figs are gonna fetch a small fortune in a few years' time.
  20. The more I think about it, the more a survey to get a feel for pricing makes sense. LEGO took a HUGE swing and a miss on a lot of sets last year at their initial price point (the BP bust and Hulkbuster being the obvious ones, but there were also some others.) As much as I'm sure LEGO hates leaks, I'd bet if they had to choose between set images getting out and having another five or so sets have to go on steep discount almost immediately after release, they'd take the former every day of the week. 2022 felt like the first year where LEGO consistently made mistakes and I bet there's some concern. @JeanGreyForever I think I owe you an apology.
  21. I think everyone on EB puts way too much stock into anniversaries. There’s not much evidence Lego does anything for them on purpose. There are five figs rumored for this set. You have to have Batman and the Joker because duh. The other three were all created (or may as well have been) for the show. It makes sense these are the five. Tbh for the price I’d like to see Two-Face and Poison Ivy with orange hair as well.
  22. It looks like one of those Arkham knock-offs you see on Amazon called like “mental health hospital” or something.
  23. Wow I really like this, although concur with @THELEGOBATMAN that the price seems high (hard to say without more detail though). But MY LORD what went wrong with the X-Mansion?
  24. Does Falcon's post imply that it's generic Batman sets, or based off the LEGO Batman movie? The post strikes me as the latter, although I'm hoping for the former.
  25. This is both the highest and lowest effort fake leak of all time.
