  1. Looks like I was right. Brickclicker says it has a display stand/info plaque.
  2. I still think at the price point it is that this set is meant to be more of a display. Wouldn’t shock me if he’s not meant to sit inside. $60 for a Batmobile that in theory should require less parts than the Keaton one is a lot, unless it has some sort of display stand.
  3. The $200 D2C superhero set coming out later this year is indeed a DC set, although at that price point it seems likely to be Batvehicle.
  4. Tbh I'd rather this not be Arkham. Not enough pieces to do it justice. Arkham needs to be DC's Daily Bugle.
  5. I guess if we got Phantasm it would be with the mask on, which would kind of be gender-neutral even though it's a woman? But yeah, not sure what the thought process was. Phantasm, Mr. Freeze, even Ivy come to mind before Catwoman. I think this is just a case of someone being lazy and thinking "yeah well Catwoman is always Batman's love interest so let's just throw her in."
  6. Batman and Joker are off. Harley is great. Catwoman is fine, although I think of like five other characters before her when I think BTAS. Honestly, I would've traded these four for a far more accurate Batman and Joker.
  7. Guess it isn’t entirely shocking at that price point for a Batmobile that it’s a bit more on the display side than the play side.
  8. Yeah possibly. For me it's the neck thing that makes it kind of tough to replicate. Honestly the ears are so far back that the daredevil piece is almost as good as the traditional cowl.
  9. Pattinson cape/cowl is tough to pull off in Lego. Probably needs some sort of rubber mold like Keaton’s got in the UCS sets, but that’s probably a big ask for Pattman sets.
  10. Outstanding. Joker's eyes are a tad off for me, but it's more than close enough. The rest of this looks phenomenal.
  11. Doubt a superhero movie, let alone a DC one that isn't Batman, will pull that off in 2025. The kids yearn for the three hour dramas now.
  12. Really starting to wonder about this set...
  13. Suspect if we get anything the design will lean heavily on BTAS, with one big castle type building. The Asylum in the Arkham-Verse has a lot of different buildings.
  14. Yeah I mean, I guess I half agree and half disagree. I think it would help the theme overall a ton. But if LEGO is confident enough to keep throwing expensive Keaton-verse sets out there, I'm a bit surprised that a Bugle-style set for Batman seems to be off the table. I don't think there are a ton of people who are big into the Keaton-verse but not Batman as a whole.
  15. Arkham seems very difficult to do justice at $200. It would barely be better than the 2012 one once you take inflation into account. Doubt we'll ever get a proper D2C Arkham in the mold of the Bugle.
  16. Court of Owls almost has to be the third film unless they go real sideways in the second. The theme of corruption lends itself well to them. Not really sure who it does for a second movie villain though. I’d love to see an eco-terrorist Poison Ivy but not sure how it would work. The Batman is weird because it never really precludes the franchise from going in a more comic book direction than a grounded one, but it’s shot in a way where if clayface or Mr Freeze show up in the second one it would feel incredibly strange.
  17. He doesn't mean "after" in respect to release date. He means TDK is the only Batman film better than it.
  18. lol massive L across the board. Even the good set is overpriced. Can’t help but feel at this point that there’s a clause in the license agreement that says they can back out if sets don’t sell well enough.
  19. Wonder if the Mr. Freeze and Phantasm figures that were initially rumored for the skyline end up in the mystery set. I highly doubt the Batmobile is the 4+ set, but that will probably just end up with the Joker (which for the first time ever I'm not mad about because it'll be the best ever version of the character).
  20. I mean, they have a point with their gripe about the quality of the figs. A lot of lack of printing for a $500 set, too many repeats, and the Kevin Feige thing is just weird. But yeah it's also odd to see people complain about the lack of some obscure Iron-Man variant or the need for a mini-fig sized Ant-Man.
  21. I will be tweeting “D2C Arkham Asylum” at the official LEGO account until I am either given what I want or am blocked. This is my kamikaze mission.
  22. Can't remember but I'm pretty sure you're right.
  23. Lol but do you really want a set like that? I've seen it for like 50% off at my local drug store.
  24. There was also The Bat, and the Joker ice cream truck chase was clearly a stand in for the semi-truck scene from the TDK. But to the broader point, I don't think there's much you can do with the Nolan trilogy. The latter movies are set in what's clearly just Chicago /Pittsburgh, not exactly ideal for a set. Maybe a monorail car with a short segment of track with Ra's and Gordon? Idk. Hard to fault LEGO for not doing more with the Nolanverse.
  25. As much as BB might be my favorite superhero movies (and in my top few all time favorite movies), the asylum from that universe is a bit boring. I feel like they should go the comic route of a big gothic building on a cliff or island, in the manner of BTAS. Hell, even Batman Forever would be an acceptable inspiration.
