I mean, how often have we really gotten a detailed look at the exterior of Arkham outside of the Arkham Asylum game? Even the BtAS version is just seen from a distance. No matter what route they go, they're going to have to get creative with the design. I highly doubt they would go with the more contemporary warehouse-looking design a lot of more modern depictions (Gotham, Joker 2, some of the comics etc..) have gone with. Personally I'm hoping for something closer to the Disney Castle than the haunted mansion set in terms of the skeleton of the design.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Lock-Up yet. Would almost have to be in any BtAS-based Arkham. I was actually surprised as I was rewatching the series recently how little Arkham actually appears. Basically Joker escaping on the tree, The Trial, and the Lock-Up episode. As for price, selfishly I want it at $400+. For every other LEGO set I'm over the insane pricing, but I want Batman's version of the Bugle, with a large piece count and 20 figs. I also can't really envision a good Arkham at the X-Mansion price point and piece count unless they're just gonna make a beefier version of the 2013 set.

BtAS makes sense. Probably the most beloved and recognizable iteration of the Bat-universe, LEGO has already dipped its toe into it so it can keep production costs slightly lower, and it appeals to the 30-40 demo that grew up with the show and would be most likely to throw $400+ at it. And if we're being honest, I think BtAS is about as close to comic-based as you can get. I think if you asked the average person what they envision when they think Arkham, they'd picture the castle on the hill. Same goes for like 90% of the villains. Outside of Ledger (or maybe Nicholson) Joker, I bet most people think of the BtAS design when they think of any given bat-villain.

Funnily enough, it seems that after reading the plot summary, the last half hour fixes my main complaint that it’s BORING. But yeah, even with all that I don’t think you can spend 3/4 of the movie being that boring and then redeem it at the very end. Baffling decision to not really be a Batman story and then start to lean heavily into the mythos in this one.

I'm usually not very fussy about what figs we get (at least compared to the average user on here) as long as we get the main ones, but I rewatched Mask of the Phantasm last night as I was building the Gotham City skyline set and it's simply criminal that we didn't get that Phantasm figure. That, and I'm still upset the Joker looks more TNBA than BTAS.

I would argue the opposite. The Nolan trilogy, in particular TDK and TDKR, is shot in a way that makes it feel more grounded than it actually is (mainly because it's just Chicago and Pittsburgh), but at the end of the day Batman can still fly, connect himself and a prisoner to a moving plane from a skyscraper, and has a tank that rolls down Main Street. The Batman's aesthetic feels less real world and more like a distinct Gotham, but he can't fly (the wing suit thing was so f'ing stupid), has to knock on the front door of a club to get in, and basically just has a Camero for a car. The Batman is weird case because they never explicitly rule out the fantastical elements, but it sure would feel weird if they show up in the next one. I have no problem with a well-designed Mr. Freeze or Clayface, but I'd rather they stick with the themes of corruption and greed and all that. Would love to see an eco-terrorist Poison Ivy and a thought-out Court of Owls storyline, although the Court can be difficult because the recognizable baddie (Talon) isn't the leader.
