I have to disagree with you here Natelite. If this was a debate about what is the best set ever, you would be absolutely right. But it isn't, the question is just about peoples personal favorites. Personally I find it very interesting to read about other members' favorite sets and why those sets have such personal value to them. I think it's nice way to get to know eachother a little better, which is probably why the topic was started in the first place. ;-)

I hope the new Star Trek movie is going to be a huge succes, especially since it's an odd numbered movie. You all know about the curse on odd numbered Star Trek movies right? >:-)

Actually, I think the lighting looks great this way! And you're absolutely right, that is a perfect spot for outdoor minifig scenes! *sweet*

So far, I've just got the Skeleton Carriage, Final Joust and two Crossbow Attack sets. I know it ain't much... yet! But I'll make up for it around christmas though, when I'm a little less short on cash. I'm definitely going to get the Chess set and Dwarfs Mine, and if there's any money left some more Crossbow Attack sets. And then I'll start saving my money for some of the Troll sets next year ;-)

Definitely not bad for a first try! It's a nice little scene that really tells its own story. A big thumbs up from me! *y* I did have a question though... Why does a Japanese samurai have a Chinese style helmet?

Actually I want both! First I'm going to get the Chess set, then (if there's any money left) I can supplement my forces with the Crossbow Attack ;-)

Wow, you certainly aren't making this easy for me, there are several that immediately spring to mind! Let's see, there's the Black Knights Castle (6086) that I always wanted, and the Forrest Men were also a great theme. Then there's the Caribbean Clipper (6274) I had so much fun playing with as a kid, I still have a soft spot for some of the space themes like the old Space Police and M:Tron (most notably: 6923 Particle Ionizer). And lets not forget about the superb minifigs that come with the present Castle theme, just for those the Castle Chess set (852001) comes to mind as well. All in all, I think I have to go with the first one that came to mind, the Black Knights Castle. Castle themes have always been a favorite of mine, and in my opinion 6086 is still one of the best looking castles to this date!

Although I kinda like the printing on the armour (it suits the Knights faction), the pearl silver just looks horribly fake and cheap... so I voted for metallic silver, as it looks so much more solid and realistic.

Why not Ogel? I think for a lot of people it enhances the LEGO experience.

Come to think of it... that's probably the reason they used pearl silver for the Knights faction in the first place, the metallic silver isn't printable! Makes me wonder what you all would've preferred: unprinted metallic silver armour or printed pearl silver armour for the Knights faction?

That's one of the reasons I want to get this set, it comes with a wide variety of special figs that I really like. *y* But Batbrick does have a point, aside from the special figs, Crossbow Attack would make for a better army builder I think. Although I'm very disappointed that the archer doesn't come with bow and quiver! :'-(

I could argue the point even further, but as people pointed out all along in this thread, in the end it's really just up to one's own imagination! ;-)

If that were true, it seems unlikely the Dwarfs would've adopted the Knights' heraldry. To me, the similar heraldry indicates a very close relationship between the two factions. If indeed they are seperate factions in the first place, the Dwarfs might as well be an integral part of the Knights faction.

I won't go as far as to have each and every LEGO logo facing the same way, but I am kinda fussy about having all the pins facing the same way. That's a little more noticable then the logo's, and it just bothers me when they're put in crooked. Can you say "compulsive behaviour"? *wacko* :-D
