  1. If Lego wanted to do a companion piece to the Enterprise, I think a Vor'cha would be great. Visually very distinct from the Enterprise while also being its era appropriate contemporary, seemingly doable in Lego, opportunity to reuse the Klingon head piece a few times, and could give us some other classic TNG characters like Gowron, Kurn, and maybe the Duras sisters. Now, you'd probably have to work in some sort of Starfleet character regardless of how well they fit. Riker would be a good choice since he was part of the officer exchange program (even though he served on a BoP), but we have him already.
  2. Well, I spent Friday evening and a solid chunk of Saturday afternoon building the Enterprise and I have to say I'm very impressed. I am no master builder, but I have built a ton of Lego sets and Enterprise managed to surprise me many times throughout the process. The way you build the star drive section is especially cool and I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. The end result is a massive, really well rendered version of a beloved design. I have almost no notes. If I were to nitpick, I do think a brickbuilt deflector without the printed parts would have allowed for a narrower and more accurate rendition. In fact I've already seen one solid effort that I might try. I also wish they would have done the phaser strip for the underside of the saucer even though I'll rarely see it. But even with those nitpocks, I can't remember the last time I was this happy building a set or with the end result. The subject matter goes a long way, but I really love what Lego did here. I smile every time I see it and I marvel they were able to get it looking this good. I've waited basically my entire life for a Trek set and I hope they do more. But if this is all we get, I think it was more than worth the wait.
  3. I had a very easy time ordering this online one Thursday night (a perk of being on the West coast). It's been a pretty long time since I ordered anything directly from Lego but I was pretty pleased. Enterprise herself is due tomorrow and all my GWPs came on Saturday. I spent a little time after they arrived building the shuttle and I really like the build. It's a dense, accurate little thing that really brought me a lot of smiles. I've basically waited my entire life for that moment. My only gripe with the shuttle is the fact that all the stickers are clear. I can usually get stickers on pretty straight without much issue, but these were tough! I'm looking forward to spending time with the main event in the evenings after it arrives.
  4. I have waited basically my entire life for something like this to be a reality and the wait seems to be worth it. I think the model is really stunning and I'm impressed by how much they got right. Doubly so since I think I read this has no new elements outside the hair pieces for Guinan and Worf.
  5. A big reason I pop into this part of the boards every day is to see if there's been updates to this project. It really is incredible and I'm glad to see you're still plugging away with it.
  6. Actually, now that you mention yellow I'd have preferred yellow too. I forgot that the Corvette was in red so I could see them not wanting to do red again so soon. We need some more color variety with these cars, doubly so when it's something like a Lamborghini.
  7. Wish they had done this in red, especially since the 911 wasn't that long ago and was white.
  8. Ever since I saw this ship in game I've wanted to do something like this. Definitely wish I could build this version since I don't think I have the technical skillset to create it from scratch. Really lovely build.
  9. For me it would be Galactic Mediator or Deep Freeze Defender. If I could expand beyond large space ships, I'd also jump at a Mega Core Magnetizer update. Those 3 are basically the greatest hits of my childhood.
  10. I said as much on your Flickr, but this might be my favorite rendition of the Falcon in Lego in any scale. I would really, really love to see an Outrider done as a companion model.
  11. Really love how sleek this looks. Well done!
  12. Extremely impressive model. You've managed to capture a lot of the great details and shapes of the Catapult. I love seeing Mechwarrior builds and this one is superb, great work!
  13. Lego has been brutal over the last year or so. There is literally thousands of dollars worth of sets that I want to add to my collection, which is possibly more than at any one time in my life. The Razor Crest is the newest addition to that list, but it also might be the one I buy and cross off first. It just looks so great and the interior stuff is wonderful.
  14. Pretty pleased with the UCS Razor Crest. Even though UCS sets tend to look quite good, this exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to the official reveal and its eventual release.
  15. Heaven help me if you ever dip into Star Trek. I already don't have space for all my Trek ships, but I'd still build any and all that you designed lol.
  16. Ever since you brought up the idea of doing the Executor in this scale, I've been excited about it. Really neat to see some movement/progress with it.
  17. I did start it! My plan, which was clearly too ambitious for the allotted timeframe, was for a fully modular Tengu. My plan is/was to have all the subsytems built and easily swappable so it was just as easy to reconfigure in Lego as it is in EVE. I'll be sure to do a thread once I'm happy enough to at least do a WIP thread.
  18. Excellent representation of the Marshal. The Battle of the Bricks was such a fun little event. I wish I was a faster designer so I could have gotten my idea finished before the deadline.
  19. Was really hoping the sci-fi forum was getting some love and maybe a build contest of its own. Clearly my excitement overrode my reading comprehension.
  20. That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking of doing and I think it looks pretty darn good. I'll probably scrounge up those parts so they're ready for when I get mine.
  21. I think you're off to a really good start here and I'll be following this thread as you progress. Mechwarrior 3 and 4 were some of my favorite games back in the day. I'll be very interested to see your design for the legs. Do you plan on this being static or posable?
  22. I don't have any of the big Technic cars and I wouldn't consider myself a big Technic builder, so I'm pretty much a pleb when it comes to this. That said, I think the car looks pretty great. I'm impressed with the shaping and how clean the body looks and I think they pulled off the taillights really well. I guess for Technic that's not really the point, but for a laymen like myself it seems very impressive. I don't know if this will be the first of these sets that I get, but I'm definitely tempted by it.
  23. This looks great. I would definitely build this if you were inclined to share/sell a file/instructions.
  24. I really like him and I appreciate that he's basically a large version of the original toy, at least in terms of how he transforms. The eyes are a smidge doofy, but I imagine we'll see several brickbuilt alternate options, possibly before he's even out. This set really combines two of my earliest loves as a kid, it's a given that I'll be snagging one.
  25. That's a great looking model of the Karrde! Not that I'd really expect anything less at this point.
