And what of the Heroica Guild, and our preexisting commitments therein, which have brought us to your service in the first place? -

Hrmph, I'd be just as happy to sit here and enjoy another ale while the rest of you go talk to those snobbish elves. I've got no friendly business with them, unless the rest of you get into an arrangement with 'em. Why, I even offered my help back at the gate, and they shot me straight down. But I suppose I can tag along, staying in the back and lookin' pretty, if you all want. -
Well, after a bunch of failed attempts this morning to cut a cloth cape/hood (or similar) that I was satisfied with, I'll go bareback for the time being

Double post, oh well. I got a new minifig, I got a new minifig! About a week and a half in-transit, but its here now. I need to work on getting a better picture taken and editing it properly, but this'll do for now, I've got places to be! Heh

Bah, too focused on the material. Once you're at the top, people will bring you phat lewtz. As offerings. That shiny sword at the blacksmith's? Yeah, you don't want that. But if you give the word, he will craft for you one that is ten times better than his finest work yet, and it will have a regal purple aura misting around it. And he won't charge you a penny. Why? Because you're the top of the food chain, and he is but a lowly NPC.

Well, sure it would! We'd be rich and powerful, both in terms of physical strength and allies to our cause! Isn't that the ultimate goal of any RPG? Sway or slay until you reach the top?

These elves are far too stubborn. And way less gullible than Lt Childsen...

Hearing the elf's response, Thormanil whips back around, prepared to pull out his blades and fight his way in: Easier to keep us out, is that what you think? Thinking better of it, he decides not to try to engage the elves. Instead, he grabs Sir Leo by the arm and drags him forward, presenting him to the elves, changing his mind about letting the knight do the talking. Y'know, your acquaintance up in Mopag was right about you. Hard headed as they come. Warned us we'd likely have trouble getting past you. Now, as I mentioned, we have business here. Aside from our own task, we agreed to assist in the transfer of this Lion Knight prisoner down here from Mopag. Thormanil indicates the insignia on Leo's shield and armor. We were told to take him to the address... he stares into the air for a moment, as if recalling the instructions... Ah, 1138 Block Lane. Said there'd be a cell waiting for him, and someone to pay us for our trouble. Thormanil pauses, waiting to see whether or not the elf calls his bluff. -

I don't mean to underestimate you, I just can't quite follow your logic, as you might expect of a dimwitted barbarian such as myself. Thormanil stares the elf dead in the eyes as he says this. If your numbers are truly stretched so thin here that you can't spare even a single guard nor scout to monitor our activity, then I fail to see how you hope to defend the village against any possible Lion Knight aggression. Unless the two of you expect to hold off an invading force on your own, then you'll have to draw forces from somewhere, and that will leave other areas unattended to, which is just as dangerous as leaving your posts to keep us in check... There seem to be a fair few holes in your plans, as I understand them. But I'm no wise elven tactician. I'm sure you have everything under control. Thormanil smirks Turning to the party, he shrugs. Perhaps Sir Leo could persuade him. I don't think I can stand this high-and-mighty much longer without resorting to more.. barbaric means of negotiation, and I doubt that would help our cause very much. -

Hah, so you two elves came here expecting to fence off the town just by yourselves? And here I was under the impression that elves were supposed to be wise beyond their years... Surely, there are at least a few more of your kind off-duty in the village right now? What if they were to keep an eye on us? Heck, I'd even offer to stand guard here with one of you, if the other cares to monitor us. Way I see it is, either there's enough of you stationed here to handle any commotion the Lion Knights (or we, if you're going to be stubborn) could stir up, or there *aren't*, and you'd be in trouble if a squad of Lion Knights came, either way. -

Well, as luck would have it, we're after these Lion Knights, too. And frankly, I've got no interest in trekking back to Mopag, much less through that forest. Now, I've got no notion of starting any unnecessary trouble, but we do have business to attend to here. If you're really that concerned over our being here, then personally, I'd invite you to accompany us for the duration of our stay here. Surely, if the two of you fancy yourselves strong enough to deny us entry to the town on your own, then you should have no problem restraining us if we get ourselves tangled up with any more opposition. But one way or another, I plan on having myself a warm meal in R'kilf by sundown. -

Right then, off to R'kilf it is! I've heard the town has many picturesque vistas, supposed to be a lovely place. Let's hope we make it there in one piece, heh! -

While Leo steps forward to introduce the party, Thormanil snickers and jokes to the rest of the group, in a hushed tone, Heh heh, the "18th Farming Division"? Get a load of this guy.. How many farming divisions does a small town like Mopag need? Or even have? He glances up to make sure the farmer-captain hadn't heard him, but he appears to be thoroughly engaged in conversation with Leo. -

What the..? Thormanil reaches into his pack and pulls out the tongue I could have sworn I tossed you away... Pondering how the tongue had returned to his possession, he concluded that, being the mage's tongue afterall, it must have magically willed itself there. Or perhaps someone was toying with him. Either way, he put the Pongcanis Tongue (WP: 0) back in his pack. -

Sir Leo, you have been nothing short of generous with your shield. I would be a selfish fool to deny you a stronger blade! Please, keep your smokebomb as well. Turning tail isn't exactly in my nature. And Ad-Hoh, if you have plans to infuse your blade as well, then don't let me stop you. I'm sure we'll be seeing more fancy gear as we unravel this mystery further, so perhaps I'll just rack up some loot-karma! Haha! -

Great fight, folks! We really let 'em have it! Now, I'd gladly forgo that club (or otherwise), if there was any chance I could lay claim to that gem after we've sorted this whole raiding business out. Would make for a fine enchantment the next time I've got some time to kill in Eubric, though of course I'd be more than willing to see it put to good use by Ad-hoh for the duration of the quest. Food for thought, y'know. We're already outside the town walls, I say we visit the fields, then the houses around midday. Perhaps Sir Leo can smoothtalk the Mopag into hosting us for lunch! Ha ha! -

Worry about that after this next volley, Benji! Leo has offered us his shield, so you can let loose this turn without fear of being struck down! -

Thormanil, grinning holds up something small and fleshy. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be the tongue of the mage. Hah! That'll teach him to mock me! Noticing the odd stares he's getting from both sides, he explains: What?! It just kind of... fell off! He shouldn't have been sticking it out at a time like this anyway... Tossing the tongue off to the side, he shrugs and turns his attention back to the Pongcanae Thormanil stares down the Pongcanis Knight, readying his axes to attack from the front row. -

Grrr, that mage thinks he's so smooth. I won't miss, this time, you hairy brute! Thormanil focuses his anger and again, prepares to attack the Pongcanis Mage from the front row -
Yes, yes. I know who they're waiting on. Honorable, patient, all I hear is "soon to be dead" Health equal to level sounds reasonable to me. Might be difficult to remember at first, but I imagine it's one those things that'll just ingrain itself as time goes on.

Oooh, the potential of even more new lewtz. I'm intrigued! These sure are a patient bunch of wookPongcanae, it's a shame we're going to have to kill them (eventually)!

Well then, let's get to brawling! Thormanil assesses the plan so far. Of eight actions, five have been declared: two will be directed towards the cleric, one towards the rogue, another towards the knight, and a final one against the ranger. The mage and barbarian have yet to be attacked. Did anybody see that? I think that manbearmage just winked at me! That smug son of a... Oh, this does not end well for him! Tomas, unless you'd rather I focus on the knight, I'm going to go have me some fun, hacking up that arrogant arcanist! Thormanil prepares to attack the Pongcanis Mage from the front row. OOC: Hope no one minds the recap. I had to jump between the pages a few times to get a clear idea of who was doing what, so I figured I'd make it easier for the last few of us to declare our actions. Also, I'm prepared to yield to Tamamono's judgment regarding targets here, so don't hesitate to speak up before the round is played out.
