  1. Thormanil checks the ceiling Looks like your people cleaned up pretty thoroughly, Isaac. Thormanil pokes around the area, kicking at the bushes and lifting the remains of the caravan, not expecting to find anything, but hoping nonetheless
  2. Standing just a little bit taller, and stronger than ever, Thormanil waited until the rest of the group had turned their attention to the road ahead before letting out a heavy sigh of relief. He hadn't blown up, morphed into a rabbit, or gone dumb deaf and blind. His gamble had paid off this time. Though, perhaps it would be in his best interest to let someone else take the first sip, next time Onwards, to Mopag! I sure wish I'd been able to make some rope.. who knows what else we might encounter in this forest.. maybe a wild jungle cat! Why, with some rope, I could have wrangled it... As he walks, his mind drifts to a story he'd been told as a young one, of a brave barbarian who, along with his trusty feline companion, managed to defeat the evil skeleton king, because he.. had.. THE POWER!
  3. A smug grin spreads across Thormanils face Now THAT's the spirit, Tomas! Alright folks, shields up, wands ready, for all we know I could be the next case-study on spontaneous combustion! Down the hatch! Putting the bottle to his lips, he tips it upwards and drinks it dry. Holding it above his mouth, he shakes out the last few drops. See? Nothing to worry abo- Gagging and clutching his throat, Thormanil stumbles about, spinning around and falling to the ground. As the party starts to come to his aid, he jumps up, laughing so hard that he begins to cry AHH-HA-HA-HA! Gotcha! Ha ha ha... I do believe I'm quite alright, though it's got a nice warmth to it like a good whiskey... He waits a few more moments to see if he sprouts a third arm or anything strange of the sort. OOC: Aw, I took a few seconds too long to type! Darn my embellishing, again! Edit: OOC#2: Just noticed this, but there's actually only one "l" in my username, doc
  4. Thormanil accepts the bottle from Cinna, uncorks it, and gives it a sniff WHEW! That's got a bite to it! Anyone got some sugar, maybe just a spoonful? Hearing some objection from Tomas, he hesitates, though having the tentative approval of a few of his comrades, as well as the Tomas' right-hand gal, *and* having already popped the top, it seems almost impossible to stop now!
  5. Well, I, uh.. His eyes dart around the group Sure, why not! Who knows, maybe it could be a magical growth serum that'll restore me to my proper stature! Ha ha! I've got a potion here in case I get knocked off my feet.. Nervous but curious, Thormanil waits to see if any of the party has other thoughts regarding the bottle
  6. I, for one, think someone should drink it! The party looks at Thormanil questioningly What?! Isn't that what you're supposed to do with strange, unidentified elixers? What's the worst that could happen?
  7. Thormanil looks around, trying to spot any vines in the thick forest. A fellow party member asks him why he's taken such a sudden interest in the foliage. I'm tryin' to find vines strong enough to fashion a rope, of course! Never know when a good old rope will come in handy!
  8. OOC: Ah, my mistake. Got it in my head that a Cleric somehow had an offensive option in the holylight school. That's what I get for trying to embellish in-character, heh. Derp! I also misread Tomas' suggestion about not wasting ether. I guess that comes down to how quickly do we want to potentially KO the targets. Carry on, folks!
  9. Lady Luck, be on our side tonight! Hope Tomas can manage to land some holy damage on those demons, and none of us lose any limbs to traps, nor stay mesmerized for too long! OOC: Errr, yeah. That's what I meant. Five, six, what's a few letters amongst friends, eh? Point being, no use in delaying the casts until the effect is "used up", as it is possible that the effect could trigger every turn of this battle, theoretically.
  10. Those eyes can catch you off guard at any time, Tomas! All it takes is for lady luck to roll against your favor, and you're about as useful as a shovel without a head! OOC: Unless I'm mistaken, the "Special" is what occurs if you roll a 5 for the action that turn, correct?
  11. Wha- Hey! Those eyes... So.. Thormanil forces himself to look away Hurriedly, he shouts his suggestion to the group: Front-row melees on the spearman! Get trapped and it's only one round lost, but get blinded and you're useless for three! Mages, the swordsman! Benji, you're the wildcard! Thormanil prepares to attack the Mopag Mutant Spearman from the front row, assuming the party doesn't have other plans.
  12. Hmm. What if we pool our funds together and rent ourselves a cart, then pretty it up with some Shadeaux insignia? We could take a trip down to Brobric and attempt to lure those bandits right to us! Thormanil laughs Personally, I can't think of anything at the Emporium that I'd be interested in purchasing now, but if you all are lookin' to restock, I've got no problems heading back there before we venture out. Then, in the morning, we break ground to Mopag?
  13. Thormanil eyes the plumed helmet, but turns his focus elsewhere when he remembers how light his coinpurse had gotten. (To Party) Well, I wonder if there's anyone here who knows anything about the symbol on the knife. Maybe some other items have passed through here marked similarly?
  14. Well, I still put my vote towards the Emporium. At least, a few of us could go there and have a look around (it IS a large establishment, afterall), and ask a few questions of the traders there. You, Isaac, could peruse the aisles on your own, and alert us if you recognize anything as being stolen, while still keeping us on a need-to-know basis. If a few of us wish to dig around at the Pale Mher simultaneously, splitting up shouldnt be too much of a problem (as long as no one starts any bar room brawls! Hah!)
  15. Isaac, you didn't happen to mention *what* was being stolen from the caravans that were being raided, did you? Could the thieves have taken some of the loot and pawned it off at the emporium for a quick sale, garnering at least a small profit while minimizing the hot goods they had to carry with them? Surely, being presitigious traders, the Emporium's clerks would leap at any such good deals. Perhaps, if you recognize any of the items for sale there as being stolen, we could press the employ for information regarding the supplier? OOC: I'm on a mobile right now, so I'll update my signature later today.
  16. While true, Thormanil *was* walking past the quest board on his way out, anyway.. barely took an extra moment to scratch it out! Heh
  17. Well that... is... an intimidating battalion of circuitry and blasters. I don't know what I would even do with that many! In other news, my BrickLink orders have arrived, and I've got my Republic side all set and ready to go (even changed the BARCs from green to dark red). Need to do a bit of supergluing on the CIS side (entire back row of BDs looks like theyve fallen asleep standing up, heh). Once that's done I'll get a picture of that side up, too. I'm sure with armies as large as some of you folks have, it would get tedious, not to mention take up a ton of space, to have each fig on its own plate, but with the size of my collection, I *love* being able to arrange figs freely and not have their guns in each others' backs. Now if only I could figure out how to pose figs with longbarrel blasters that looks good, but doesn't have them looking like they're standing idly by, holding their gun across their chest... /sigh Poor Nahdar. That force choke is a real b----.
  18. Great minds, eh? /ego-flex
  19. Love the concept of nights, doc & cap'n (and doc, *love* the random-encounter system you're using). In the quest I've been piecing together, I've got something of a time limit in place, where days are broken into fourths (say, "Visit the local mage for the afternoon" or "Spend the day investigating the forest (morning, afternoon, evening)"). Do either of you have any plans/thoughts on suspension of omniscience when party members are split up? Like, group A discovers something, and the next logical step would be to do some particular action over in building 1, where, conveniently, group B is currently heading to. Should group B be able to take that action, despite having no way of *knowing* that's what needs to be done? For my own part, I was considering just sidestepping the whole issue by having some NPC (perhaps the local mage, haha) enchant the party with a psionic link for the duration of the quest. Magical walkie talkies!
  20. Gripping my axes tightly, a smug grin spreads across my face. I step into the front row and prepare to mince the pickpocket. Heh heh heh, this should be easy! Hope I get a chance to swing at him before the rest of you drop him! Thormanil prepares to attack Thief from the front row.
  21. Of course. I do believe Thormanil should be good to go. Looking forward to questing with you!
  22. Out of breath, Thormanil finally catches up to Isaac. Listening attentively, a big grins spreads across his face as Isaac indicates the cache of weapons at the group's disposal. His axe has served him well, but he hadn't had the funds to have the smithy give it any attention, and it was a bit worse-for-wear. He nods along as Isaac outlines the situation, but in his mind he is all but playing dress-up with all the blades he sees. When Isaac steps aside, allowing the group access to the armory, Thormanil becomes a child in a candy shop. Picking through the crates and chests of weaponry, he grabs a few blades and swings them about. Just as he is about to settle on an elegant greataxe, he notices a pair of axes sitting in the back of the cart. Grabbing them, swinging them around, he can't help but feel like a tempest of blades. Should either axe be wielded on its own, he imagines it would not be nearly as powerful as even his old greataxe, but together, this new pair of axes should prove quite lethal if swung in quick succession, as in the time of a single attack with any other weapon. But really, who in their right mind would separate such a lovely pair, anyway? Thormanil: "These, these shall be my new toys!" he proclaims, excitedly, slinging his old axe across his back. He can't help but give the new blades a few more swings, just to enjoy them, "I do hope we don't end up having to return these--they are way too much fun!" With his Dull Greataxe(WP:3) slung across his back, Thormanil now grips the pair of Shadeaux Twin Axes(WP:4), with one in each hand. OOC: (1)Just to make sure it's clear, the twin-axes are meant to be considered as a single weapon in the context of the game, with WP:4. "Twin Axes" is a matter of nomenclature and aesthetics only, as the axes will be swung together, sold together, upgraded together, enchanted together, etc. (2)I'm trying to piece together a reasonably priced BrickLink order to acquire a Thormanil minifig, and will hopefully get that sorted out in a week or two's time (including his new pair of axes, woo!). Until then, I'll keep the picture I have, so use my inventory as canon, rather than the image, heh.
  23. Hurriedly, Thormanil runs through the market, dropping 5 coins on Gnomeo's counter, and grabbing a bedroll off the stall, all in one fluid motion. Poor Gnomeo didn't even have time to react or thank him for the business. With his new bedroll in tote, Thormanil goes to catch up with Isaac Inventory Change: -5 gold (5 gold remaining) + Bedroll OOC: Would you have it any other way, doc?
  24. Thormanil snaps to attention as he hears his name called, and, jumping out of his chair, nearly knocks over the table he'd been sitting at. Hoping no one had noticed, he regains his composure and calmly heads out of the Hall. Afterall, it's *just another* quest. He's an adventurer. He does this sort of thing all the time. Nothing to get so excited about... On his way past the quest board, he draws a quick line across his name on the three remaining quests he had signed up for. Quest #6, Thormanil Quest #7, Thormanil Quest #8, Thormanil
  25. Thormanil watches as another group sets off on an adventure, and while he wishes them luck, he is envious that they are out and about, while he is slowly drinking away what little funds he has left here at the Hall. Not wanting to get tangled up in any Romeo and Juliet nonsense, and a little apprehensive of the Shade who seems to be a little... "off"... he decides to keep to himself for a bit. That's when, out of the corner of his eye, he sees a man posting up another quest on the board. Intrigued, he makes his way over to the quest board to see what's what. Thormanil, thinking to himself: "Well, I'd still like to see if I can't be of help to the Shadeaux, but there's a lot of folks here looking for work, and I'd sure hate to miss out on the opportunity to get out there and do something. It'd certainly be easier to communicate with a smaller group, so maybe catching that thief could go quickly and smoothly. Then again, I'm sure I could hold my own out in the desert a lot better than most of the folks here, since they're so dependent upon their creature comforts. And while I do love fighting, I'm hesitant to get mixed up in any sort of organized brawls alongside fighters who are a bit more experienced than I, especially when rewards will be handed out based on relative performance. I guess, though, given that these quests have a bit of a staggered start, it couldn't hurt to toss my name in the hat across the board, just in case. Thormanil pens his name on the remaining three quest sign-ups, doing so in his order of preference Quest #4: Taming the Lions His name already being on this list, it would be his first choice Quest #6: Wanted: Donny Dozenhands Quest #8: Sacred Sands Quest #7: The Arena
