Fair enough.

Urgh, fine, fine. You raise good points, and having a second no-lynch won't do us any good. Guess it's the bandwagon for me. Vote: Julius Burbank (Brickdoctor). I know I'm going to catch flak for being a late voter, but worse things have happened. Yes, you did. You might not have, but you did. You volunteered, you took on the role with all the positives and negatives attached. If it truly was a nooby mistake of a previous alter ego, then it is your job to make up for that mistake and convince us otherwise, not just brush it aside as if it didn't happen.

Heroica RPG - Quest#35: Rescue the Maa’ri!

"Well, if there's no time to take a quick rest, then I s'pose I'd only come 'cross as sour if I didn't heal any of ya. So, unless we are able to take a breather, I'll spend 4 ether to heal all four of ya." -
I'm torn here. York/Lego would have gotten my vote, but now York/CJP have assuaged at least some of my suspicions through this back-and-forth with the good doctor. On the other hand, I have been a bit bothered by Burbank as he's been uncharacteristically quiet these last few days, but his transparency here has gone and alleviated some of -that- suspicion. I don't fault Burbank for pursuing the current York for the actions of the previous -- that was the mantle CJP volunteered to take on, faults and suspicions included. I'd hardly call it a bandwagon right now. Everyone who has voted for him has given some reasons at least. I'm really confused, though. You moan that we might reach a no-lynch due to lack of votes, but then accuse the last two people to vote (and not just vote, but say why they're voting) of just jumping on a bandwagon? That doesn't seem like the best way to encourage folks to step up and vote for someone who you want to see lynched, but hey, what do I know.

Oh god, the horror. The memories. The horrible memories! Edit (oh, how I've missed this button!) I think Rick is on to something. Legoman is probably posting from one of those oldschool, pre-wifi internet cafes, and his server tripped and fell on the way to bringing Legoman the ethernet cord/connection he had ordered! -
You've got roots, and you're magical, go get your own coffee! And poop me the magicalest of magical mushrooms. I could use a pick-me-up right about now.

Has the ship has been infested with a virus that reanimates corpses while leaving the host in a state of mental regression? No, no, that wouldn't make sense, you're a tree stump, not our dearly departed former crew member. Are you here to bring a more natural feel to this cold hunk of ABS?
-
While haste does tend to make waste, I don't think that's really been our problem these last few days. Heck, we didn't lynch on day one (and if we had, it wouldn't have been a purist). Both our lynchee and #2 suspect had reasonable cases stacked up against them, and neither turned out to be a purist. It's a shame that folks are so quick to hop on others for giving summaries or repeating. It's really not that far fetched that if someone is acting suspiciously, it will raise the same warning flag for multiple people. If they're not the first to bring it up, then they're almost better off just staying silent and casting an appropriate vote when the time comes. I mean, really, unless they're privy to further information with which they can build a case around, they'll likely just be accused of echoing the first person. They could expand upon their suspicions, writing out in greater detail what they find troubling, but again, unless they've got information that others don't have, someone will come along and accuse them of echoing, but with more fluff to cover up a lack of original thought. Being seen as a sheep would, in most cases, be far preferable to being seen as trying to act like a townie. Heck, this is practically hypocritical as it is. In his accusation of/reminder that Harper hasn't been very original, he (Who are you, by the way? Please, wear your nametag!) admits that this has already been pointed out before. And yet, it's this kind of accusation that stifles discussions. Sure, he could be a purist laying low, but he could also be just another crew member with only as much information as is publicly available in these proceedings. If (and assuming that) the latter is true, he just can't win with accusations like yours. He has nothing new to bring to the table, so he stays relatively silent, but his silence raises suspicion, so he voices his thoughts, but he's then back under fire for not having anything new or original to offer up. You're not the only one making accusations like this, but you certainly could have picked a better target to make the case against. At least in this particular case, Harper actually offered an opinion/his thoughts, even if it wasn't original enough for your tastes. Why not go after Donna/King, for speaking up without really saying anything of use? Or me, for speaking up to clarify an acronym for Hornby, but not commenting on the situation at hand? At least there, you'd have something of a beginning case to work with. I know you eased off as of late and dropped the OMGUS call, but it seemed to me like you were making a real stretch for this accusation. Pressure is good, when applied properly. What, you mean there are folks among us who have been less helpful than those Loyalists who dug their own graves and may as well have pulled the triggers on themselves?

Here I go with the OoC's again.. d'oh! Knifk counter-strikes Akkaban Interrogator - Free Hit (10+16=26 damage) Thormanil will attack Bloop Blobbingham from the back row. -
WIFOM, Wine In Front Of Me: Refer to some of Campbell's/Dakar's defense for examples. "A scum would have to be an idiot to do this, so because I did it, I must obviously not be scum!"
-
Well, I'd be the first to agree with you there. But if it's like the good doctor suggested, then perhaps he was made aware anyway?
-
Unless he was simply told that he was blocked, regardless of whether he had an action or not
-
Hey now, I was referring to voting off Pewter/Pala. I didn't say anything about the vig killing Campbell/Dakar, nor quote anyone who suggested it. Although, there was... One of us! One of us! As for suspects, I suppose Rockford's an option. There's also McAndrews/Tammo who, though he was correct about Pewter being a Loyalist, was quite wrong in insisting that we had "obvious Scum right in front of us" in regards to Campbell/Dakar.
-
Well, for one thing, we didn't count on Pewter and Campbell somehow being tied to each other. Of course, they brought the attention on themselves, but that doesn't really help us any. One of Pewter's stronger accusers is dead, and one of us to boot, so that doesn't do us any good, either. I'm an idiot, by the way, and totally forgot that Pewter got lynched. I read into the pictures.

But the escape pods are on the other half of the ship! I would know, I was doing the maintenance on them just the other day. -
Bah, where's the challenge in easy-moding it with an alien? I'd agree though, the robes do make it pretty easy. I suppose the challenge would lie in not just creating a bland, generic character with the parts.

I'm beginning to think my prediction was correct: we collided with a large asteroid that split the ship in two, and we are now gliding through space without any form of propulsion. Maybe we should just get out and push? -

Sheathing his Wyvern Tailblade, Thormanil pulls out his Thundering Totem and prepares to attack Chemical Blob (Blobert) from the back row. "We'd better find that combination, or we're all gonna get melted pretty quickly! How about the R & C tablets, that sounds like the Right Choice, eh? Hah... Hurry up and neutralize that pool!" -
A Heroica-appropriate character made exclusively using Star Wars pieces, eh? Challenge accepted! Though, looking down the list in the Hall... Dak looks doable, though I'm not sure where the hairpiece is from. And Costy's Nagure, surely you can mimic that one? By chance, I was browsing Jeb's profile, and read over his QM philosophy. I feel so enlightened! It explains why I got the impression that I'd annoyed him during the bridge sequence, for sure . It also explains why Thormanil's backpack has felt significantly lighter. And since I'm on the topic, I know the last couple of weeks have been a bit bland due to outlying circumstances, but I'll make more of an effort to get involved in the RP aspect of the quest again, battles and all, I promise! The last battle was especially lacking in character, though JMB at least kept up a nice banter with the Paladin, heh. @darkdragon, I have to agree, your sets are gorgeous. Well, sets from any and all QMs usually are, but since yours were in the spotlight today, I was compelled to compliment them.

Vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathdric) I think this is the best course of action for us today, but not because I find him to be especially suspicious on his own. His joking around was equal parts stupid and suspicious, and had I been the recipient, I would have likely brought it to public attention as well. It's not inherently scummy, but definitely worth at least some suspicion. The really valuable part of a lynch against him today will be the insight it will give us tomorrow. Several of us have, from the get-go, exhibited confidence in his loyalty. Were their instincts correct? Did they have some information we didn't? Was McAndrews(Tammo) in the right, yesterday, to split the vote? Conversely, if he turns out to be a Purist, we have, at the very least, a bunch of commas a solid lead for tomorrow--Why were these folks so dutifully covering him? Has Campbell (Dakar A) been acting blatantly scummy just to draw attention away? Are we being strung along? Will Hinckley (wait, who's that?) out his band of space bandits in a moment of weakness and mental anguish tomorrow? Will a giant asteroid crash into our lovely ship and send us hurtling into the cold, dark reaches of space? Ensign Campbell has repeatedly assured us that his actions would be utterly stupid for a scum to make, as though that clears him of guilt (mmmm, wine). When he (mis)quoted Wright(CallMePie), my first thought was "Well, Wright did clarify a names-issue in one of his comments. Honest mistake?" Once I reread the comment though, it appeared clear (to me) that Campbell's name-replacement was not the one intended by Wright. It could have so easily been avoided by quoting the actual text, and following it with a note that Campbell believed the quote was referring to himself. Given the ease of safer alternatives, I can see no good reason for a Loyalist to tamper with a quote. While Campbell has been acting far from towny, I feel that we will get a much greater benefit and more leads by lynching Pewter.
-
Pewter/Pala - having attention/impending lynch drawn away from him twice now Campbell/Dakar - motive against Robbins/Peanuts, altering quote Pewter/Pala - could have set up Campbell/Dakar to further draw attention away from himself Campbell/Dakar - could be manipulating the suspicion that Pewter/Pala is having people draw attention for him in order to magnify suspicions about Pewter/Pala. Oh, this wine is going straight to my head. I'm getting dizzy just trying to think about it.

Thormanil asks the orc his name. -
Well, any claim he makes should be fairly easy to prove/disprove. Although, it would mean keeping him around for at least another night, plus any risks that entails should he have a hostile role.. At the same time, the initial case/reasoning against him wasn't really that strong. I'm only suspicious of him now because the vote got split before he could be lynched, though I would like to hear him out today before hopping on the early lynch express.

Tried the game a few weeks ago, but picked it back up today. Met up with K-nut&Costy, who sent me an invite to the guild. Still getting the hang of all this. Can't get a character to 20 to save my life, though, heh. Edit: Tried a while longer. Hopped in a few XP trains, but kept getting killed in the mass-confusion. I might try and get a priest to 20 later this evening, the old fashioned way.
