  1. "What, like you opinion on our honor-less thief here?" He rolls his eyes, shifting his attention to the Berserker once more. "Last I heard they'd both sailed north. Regulus was one of the last people to see Tarn. Each of them had some higher calling I thought. Just didn't have the heart in them to finish what they had started." He lets out a little laugh. "Heroing more worthy? Please, no one comes her because they're worthy or looking for a way to help out. People come here to make quick money every now and then. I came here as a cocky mage with no idea of how the world work. If I had been the man I was today, I'd have stayed clear of this damned isle. Now I've gotten myself tangled in strings. Once those strings are cut, I'm going to be out of here as fast as I can. Head back west and maybe do something for myself for once. Do I know when that is? Not at all. Hell, it could be half a century before I get out, but I'm not leaving until the job is done, unlike Haldor and Tarn." He pauses his regret-fueled rant. "Seems like you've got a perfectly good exit strategy planned out, though, Miss Hightribe. I can't say I don't envy you for it..."
  2. There are some huge events like Original Sin from Marvel last year that are easy to read as they're going on, but I think you're right about all the tie-ins. I can't separate the story that happened in JL from that of JLA from that of Forever Evil itself. The really nice thing about that run is that it's very introductory. I came in knowing little to nothing about Aquaman, and still I feel like I know the character pretty well. Johns has an amazing way of reinventing characters like Black Manta and Ocean Master while still being able to introduce new characters like The Others.
  3. "I couldn't agree more. Long ago are the days of emptying caves of specters and saving lost children. I've had 'success' on my last few quests in that I was rewarded handsomely for my work, but none of them satisfied me in the slightest. I only stick around for a few loose ends that need tying up, and it seems you are in the same vein. The longer you stick in this profession, the more straining it becomes with each quest. I envy those who can get out cleanly like Tarn and Haldor."
  4. "Whatever names you are called you've earned yourself," he says, coldly "Or were you too busy hopping from bed to bed to realize that? Honor-less Thief... You don't see the irony in that?" Althior glares at the Dragoon. "Surely you've got something to say too, Regulus. After all this time, I thought you knew how to speak up, especially after what you've been through," He turns to the Berserker "Oh Miss Hightribe. Trust me when I say it gets old after a while. Hell, I wouldn't be here except for..." He trails off, being careful not to mention his promise made at the tower. He pulls up a seat at the table for the first time. "What have you been doing all this time? Got sick of the whole business?"
  5. I think it's just a Guardians of the Galaxy quote.
  6. I bought the season pass so at I'd get all of the DLCs free... I was told that with the season pass you get ALL the DLCs when they come out.
  7. Althior slides the scroll for the promised gold towards Warlen. "Pleasure doing business," he says, half heartedly. He then makes his way towards his elf "friend". "Pay her no attention, Regulus. I've learned that what this particular elf says has a habit of going in one ear and out the other. Fortunately it makes life much more bearable." He chuckles, turning to Alexis, "Nice to see you've put on some clothes, though. Given up the route of the common whore now? Took you long enough,"
  8. It's possible that they may have changed it. Is it free with the DLC Season Pass?
  9. Daredevil is being released April 10th on Netflix!
  10. Couple things about the trailer that intrigue/worry me. For starters, Michael Douglas already looks fantastic in this. I, for one, was unable to take my eyes off of him during his parts in the trailer. I think the powers can be handled well, but they can also be handled poorly. When he first shrinks down, I think it looks great. Riding the giant ant, well... I feel like it will fit once the final film comes out, but I find it hard to take this in as a serious movie when he's riding around on that thing for half the trailer.
  11. Personally, I think New 52 is fine. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. I do miss some of the old continuity, though (such as Wally West's existence...). For New 52, I've read Batman, JL, JLA, Green Lantern, Nightwing, and the first run of Teen Titans (the first story was great but after that it lacked). Since I started in Spring of 2012, that's whittled down to just Batman, JL, and GL (though JLU is really intriguing for the roster alone. Can anyone recommend it?) Any of the New 52 Green Lantern titles are worth a read in my opinion (even though I think all but GL itself are ending in March). Particularly New Guardians is a good read since it focuses on the secondary lanterns like Atrocitus and Saint Walker. I am a HUGE Green Lantern fan and I have the full 90s run that includes the introduction of Kyle Rayner and the Hal Jordan/Paralax story line. I've also read the full Blackest Night run which I highly recommend. Like others have said, Green Lantern: Rebirth is excellent as well. I've also read the entire run of Geoff Johns Aquaman for the New 52 and must say that I loved it just as much as GL. My father owns most all of the Aquaman issues produced (there's a few from the first run that neither he nor I have been able to track down), so I've been working my way through those. The spinoff series, Aquaman and The Others, is another series I would recommend, even though it's ending soon with only twelve or so issues. Before I forget to mention it, Snyder's work on Batman in the past years has been exceptional. Court/City of Owls and Death of the Family are both fantastic reads, and though Zero Year did get to be a bit long, it was interesting nonetheless. Definitely give that run a chance if you haven't already. As for the ongoing discussion about Death in the Family and Knightfall, I must say that though the artwork is outdated in comparison to the works of Jim Lee and Greg Capullo, the story does not suffer one bit. I loved every part about Death in the Family since Jason Todd's story has always intrigued me, and I still have to get through Knightfall (Let me tell you, it is loooooong). Forever Evil is another long haul. Due to the 1-issue-per-month DC has, Forever Evil took really long to get started and to wrap up for me. The concept is awesome; How does the world deal without a Justice League when the greatest threat it has ever seen shows up? If you sit down and read it all at once, I'm sure it's nothing to extensive and would be much more enjoyable than how I chose to read it. It definitely shakes up the universe in a cool way, too, and I've always been a sucker for alternate dimension stories (Earth 2 is on its way right now). As for other recommendations, definitely read Hush. If you're a hardcore Batman fan, read Hush. If you're a casual Batman fan, read Hush. If you're just a casual comics fan, read Hush. It is an absolutely terrific arc that brings together the entire Batman family, his rogues gallery, and even some Superman while still introducing new characters and not having the story suffer one bit. So many characters are involved, and it is still centered on Batman, his relationship with Catwoman/Selina Kyle, and each issue you read feels so different from the others, it's hard to distinguish as an arc except for a few things. Also (though this goes without saying), read Watchmen if you haven't already. No further explanation should be necessary.
  12. I think that added to controlling them all, the fact that they ended up devouring the rest of the enemies was the best part. Like Pie said, I don't think that can ever be topped.
  13. I think there was some discussion of him when they were talking about the JLU cartoon and the Javelin, but otherwise no, unfortunately. Not too hard of a figure to make purist, though.
  14. Went over to Target today with some Christmas returns and ended picking up the new Kopaka from Bionicle, the TIE Advanced Prototype, and the Wookie Gunship from Rebels. Going back in later this week to see if I can't find a couple more Bionicle's.
  15. Last one I remember was with my Rat Horde in #68.
  16. Mark 43 seems to look much better in actual pictures, and the Iron Legion Drone isn't half bad either! Didn't think it'd have head printing, especially when it's that subtle. I thought the leak from a week or so ago said June.
  17. Shit would go down. I feel like a party of Althior, Alexis, and Arthur would be full of angst too.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised. It could be put in there like how in the Grodd set Batman is supposed to be standing on one in his mech.
  19. When I saw you were making a Last Supper type LoD creation, I was hoping it would be something like this. You do not disappoint. The skull, windows, and tiling really sell it. Nice use of the new minifigures too. The custom ones look nice as well, though Grundy looks a bit large to me. Is that Toyman based on any particular design? Or just your interpretation?
  20. You could always take a head like Riddler's, Robin's, or Lone Ranger's and add a Purple Helmet on top. That gives you the mask part, unless you're woried about him being too pale (though in that case you could use Red Knee's head from Lone Ranger).
  21. I can just imagine placing Iron Man on one of these in the rotor.
  22. Exactly. The interior may not be as limited as that of the SSD, but I don't expect a full scale interior (probably the bridge, the lab, and maybe Loki's cell). Depending on the size of the model, we could get some pretty nice sized, detailed rooms. Wasn't the SSD $399.99? That only had four or five minifigs if memory serves correctly. We don't know that. It won't be as expansive as the Death Star, but we could still get plenty of figures with it. Probably not as many as in the Death Star, again, but still a few.
  23. I could have sworn that the Level 50 qualification was dropped, but I can't seem to find that ruling anywhere.
  24. I went and saw The Imitation Game on New Years Eve. Absolutely wonderful film. The acting, writing, it was all superb. I knew next to nothing about Alan Turing before I saw the film, so the ending really crushed me.
  25. If you've QMed 5 times or Quested 15 times, you're eligible for a second character. I don't know if anyone has QMed 15 times (besides Sandy, of course).
