Sry I am not the best in english Yes but it is still very interesting one
-
But wouldnt they tell us that august wave sets which they are warning us about are not those which are listed on Promobricks?
-
Yeah it would be funny if there wasnt any august wave after all :DDD
-
I agree with you but be careful or Clone OPatra will shut this thread again for whatever reason.... Yeah Promobricks is our only hope now and I think they already know what these sets are.
-
I think she was refering to me as I said that the only way these sets would be disappointing if they werent playsets but brickbuilds
-
Actually I would be quite happy with these :DDD
-
Yeah but if they are just regular playsets with minifigures how could they be worse than anniversary wave? Maybe they are anniversary sets too but still how could they be worse. I am starting to think that the only reason why Guyon didnt like it is because there is nothing that he or most of us wanted and maybe it turns out to be good actually.
-
If you can only display it that doesnt mean that adults will like it. I think most of adults like minifigure sets more than brickbuild statues etc. but they have to be detailed and look good which was the case of 2018-2020 sets.
-
Same with me. If there were really good minifigures, they would always save the situation no matter how bad the set would be because you still can buy those separately or buy the set anyways as a brick pack :D
-
But from marketing point of view why would Lego decided to experiment with lots of brickbuilds or sets which they know will fail to sell well if they know what majority of their customers want? Why they dont give us Gringotts, why not some DH sets or wanted remakes of sets like Shrieking Shack or Lake task? I mean they are risking a lot of money if they are releasing sets that are not interesting for adults and even kids wont buy everything as they dont have that much money. It just doesnt make any sense after like 3 years of absolute god tier level super detailed sets we got. Lego has set the bar of quality for this theme so high that I cant imagine that we would get really bad sets. I am not counting anniversary sets because those are based on already bad (in build quality) sets from 2001-2002.
-
It looks like they didnt see pictures but from describtion they got they should know at least some minifigures ... but so far they havent mentioned minifigures at all.
-
Well look at it from bright side. If these were interesting playsets ideas with terrible builds you would be still tempted to buy them. Now when quality is irrelevant because sets choice suck you can save a lot of money. Yes another strong hint that we are getting lots of brickbuild or micro stuff...
-
Well if august sets being bad is not matter of their build quality then I guess its just some brickbuild stuff or plenty of remakes.
-
Nah final sets will be same in build like prototypes. The only thing which will change are prints and minifigures so if he thinks its bad then it likely is. I hope he didnt see pictures which could mean that these sets still could be amazing and he just didnt like final selection.
-
Yeah we dont need full building but just front part like with other buildings sets in this theme. Lego is also about being minimalistic in their builds and that is often difference between moc and official set.
-
I think Lego version would be much smaller and would have only 2 floors not 3. If Lego makes Grindotts it will have like 1500-2000 pcs. That would fit for august set with 1670 pieces if it didnt cost only 129.99€ lol
-
I already saved money on book sets and most likely I will save money on june wave as well. I usually dont buy every set if its trash or not enough detailed and accurate. I am mostly minifigure collector so in that case I just pick minifigs from BL. The only set from this year (so far) which I plan to buy is Hogsmeade so I would be really happy if at least something from august wave was decent overall.
-
It wasnt only about lower you expectation its was also that we will be shocked and suprised how bad it can be. Also they said if we didnt like june sets leaked pictures we wont like these either. I am so tired of knowing nothing more than their hints about these sets. I hope this week we finaly find out what august sets are. If I had any reliable source I would already share it here but I am not that lucky.
-
There are only 3 things which can really disappoint me and these are brickbuild stuff, microscale and remakes. If it isnt neither of those I am just fine :D
-
Well then it can be only brickbuild but that wont sell good either sooo if it is a playset, how could it be so bad that Guyon and Falconfan warned us? Maybe its big Hogwarts Express after all...
-
I mean I hope that I am wrong too because I would be really disappointed if it wasnt a playset
-
To me this one has to be something brickbuild or microscale because there is no way this could be playset. I think this is lower your expectation thing
-
Yes but remember this is a licended theme. Burrow had more than 1000 pieces and it costs like 110€. This one is only 20€ more expensive and has almost 1700 pieces. Thats suspicious and it doesnt sound like a playset.
-
Yeah sorry if I spread some false info here. You know at this point I am so desperate about august wave that I might believe everything which sounds at least somehow realistic.

He said this: I know what the $250 set is, but only a handful of people at lego know and if I mention it, it will give them away. There were a lot of sets being considered in October last year. Some will not happen for whatever reason (Gringotts may be one of these). Sets I was told were on the table were Honeydukes, Werewolf/forest set, extensions to Diagon Alley (Borgin/Burkes, Knockturn), Leaky Couldron and more. I don't think these will make the final cut. But I know of two that are certain
