LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

A Jabba's palace would be ideal, but it would be strange to release it, well, without Jabba himself. The set potential for the next few years is crazy, can't wait to see what they have in store for us. -

Very curious to see who are they gonna cast for the role. Given these Mando set release schedules and all the shows we'll be getting in the next few years, it'll be a while before they make him I'm afraid -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I am! I had this set as a kid at the time. I was so young, in fact, that I don't even seem to recall building it fully nor do I have any memories of playing with it. I was so fascinated by all the Harry Potter sets and have very vivid memories of them all, even the details such as in which stores the sets were bought in, but for some reason there is a black spot surrounding this one. When I got back from my dark ages a few years ago, I found the roof cardboard cutout in a box and was very confused about its origin. I searched on bricklink and saw that it belonged to this set and was somewhat confused. It then hit me, that I in fact did own the set. I wanted to build it but who knows where all the pieces are. Probably ended up on the junkyard like a lot of my old Harry Potter sets. I am still furious over that Thankfully, I still have a lot of the amazing accessories and minifigures from the set, like the clear chest, the Fat Lady portrait, Peeves, books... Speaking of, an updated Fat Lady portrait would be an amazing thing to have in this new set. If it weren't for the original line of Harry Potter sets I don't know if I would even be a Lego fan today. And the fact that this set integrates the Chamber of Secrets which is one of the few sets I didn't have as a kid makes this a really incredible set in my eyes. A strange one definitely, but incredible nonetheless. -

Nope. It was the Cloud City one unfortunately I doubt we'll be seeing summer leaks any time soon. However the spring wave should be leaking very soon. -

Well these preliminary pictures look fantastic to me! I love how the great hall is an homage to all the different versions we've had over these 2 decades. The only thing that stands out to me are those windows, they seem kind of strange but I'll have to wait for official pictures to decide if I like them or not lol. I hope the interiors and the chamber itself are nicely detailed as I'll be displaying the interiors of these. Actually, I would really love the idea of the August wave being a continuation of this anniversary line because I am absolutely loving this modular style. The forbidden corridor is too long to fit on the tower section so there must be a set with the Devil's Snare that is meant to fit underneath right? -

Definitely would be cool to see it again and have it complement Anakin's but I am hoping the mystery set is another Clone Wars one or something a bit more interesting. The entire wave sounds just too good so it really makes me think what have they decided to make for that set. Must be Luke's landspeeder to balance things just right. It sure is interesting from our point of view but Lego knows the real numbers. Come to think of it now, I really wonder how many of each set gets produced on average. -

Exactly my sentiments. Jannah gets an all new exclusive mold and arm printing while our girl Ahsoka uses a clearly oversized decade old Shaak Ti mold with plain orange arms? Come on I can't remember where I read this, but someone mentioned that cheaper sets lend themselves for more prints/molds because they get produced in larger quantities so it justifies the production cost. I presume a 20$ set for which there is clear demand would bring at least one new thing to the table. -

It would honestly be really stupid not to have 2 dark troopers in the set regardless of whether Cara Dune appears in it or not. Every set which introduced new troopers (Krennic's shuttle with the Death troopers, Battle on Scarif with regular shoretroopers, Imperial conveyex with range troopers, AT-Hauler with Dryden's guards just to name a few) had a pair of two which is the bare minimum. If they have already developed a new mold why give us only a single trooper, it's not like the set is amassable. If they pulled something like with the Sith troopers in Kylo Ren's shuttle, with 1 appearing in the set and putting them in battle packs shortly after, then it would be okay. However, something like that seems unlikely at the present and there just aren't that many possible sets which can include them down the line. I would be very surprised if we only get a single dark trooper in the set. Or better yet, not a single one -

I think the May UCS is R2-D2 (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and the Gunship should come later in the year. Leaks started in February last year with Grievous's starfighter and the spring wave. I remember D-O leaked on February 21st to be exact lol so I think we should be seeing helmets soon. It will be a long time before the summer pictures come out though, probably May/June -

I doubt they will remove her from the set if she was planned to be included. That new hairpiece in the latest Raya and the dragon set seems like it was made with Cara in mind as well. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. -

Honestly a viaduct would be absolutely perfect. Definitely agree there would have to be something else there as well. The June wave sounds spectacular to me so in my eyes everything else in August will be a nice bonus, no matter how good or bad the sets end up being. -

Am I here the only one who would want a big Hogwarts Express set? The 2018 version is one of the few sets I have missed out on because I absolutely dislike how short it is. It would have been a much better set if they made the station smaller and used those parts for the train itself. Until they release a new one I think my 2010 version will do. -

Wow, this set honestly has the potential to be the best one since the reboot in my opinion. There is just so much stuff going on I can't wait to see how they incorporate everything. Professor Sinistra and an all new amazing molded Basilisk in the same set? Yes please! -

It would be ridiculous if we never get him. The Star Wars line is famous for its inclusion of obscure characters so not making a figure like phase 2 Cody at some point down the line is very unlikely. Especially when there is such a demand for one. It would be funny if he shows up in the Bad Batch or Kenobi with a completely new look and we get a set based on that -

Well, not true. Shaak Ti was in the arena and fought next to all the other Jedi. There is a scene in which Shaak Ti clearly boards the gunship as well. If they do go with this route of a single clone and Jedi then she would have been a possible and better option because a figure like Mace is already common enough and he can show up in a lot more sets. I agree with you though about all the people who are expressing their disappointment around the possible figures in the set, or lack thereof. I can't stand all the complaints I am seeing and I am afraid Lego will unfortunately be spammed once they make the official reveal. As much as I love clones and want them to be available in sets, I never thought a set like this would have that much to offer in terms of minifigures. I voted for the Nebulon because I would have preferred a minifig scaled gunship but now I can't wait for this set. It will probably be my first UCS ship once I find a good deal. There will be time for a minifig scaled one with lots of clones, but we sure need proper prequel UCS sets and this should be the gateway to them. At least I hope. -

Wow, this indeed sounds incredible! As a kid who got hooked on Lego in the 2000's because of the Harry Potter sets, I can't wait to see modern interpretations of some of my all time favorite sets! I had most of them except a few, which includes the Fluffy set and the Chamber of Secrets so seeing these specifically being remade is a dream come true. The Chamber of Secrets with the Basilisk has been a white whale of mine since forever and I can't wait to add this to my collection! Hopefully the Basilisk uses some new molds this time around. Unlike the modern castle sets, I will probably end up displaying the interiors of these so I don't really mind having 2 great halls. Well 3 if you include the 2010 version When did minifigure leaks first start coming out last year, I can't seem to remember? -

A modern Shaak Ti would be perfect! They could easily put her in any Jedi or Clone Wars set pretty much, same as they did with Aayla Secura in the Republic Fighter Tank or Ki Adi Mundi and Barriss Offee in the battle pack. She would have been a much more desirable Jedi figure in the gunship than Mace Windu if that rumor ends up being true. -
Well, if you find said fans on those other non Lego forums, then no, I would not be surprised. I have never met a person with such views. Lego and Star Wars go hand in hand like no other thing. If you are not into UCS sets, the majority of the releases are system scale sets which can be phenomenal. It also looks like Lego is taking a new approach with the recently scaled down versions of ships as well. 4+ sets, microfighters, system scaled sets, brickheadz, busts, UCS sets... Minifigures are also a huge part of collecting to a lot of people, myself included, and Lego is by far superior in that regards. The most sold Star Wars set in the past year, the 501st battle pack, is people buying minifigures basically. There is just so much at offer that if you can't find anything to suite your taste, well, you can just resort to making your own stuff that satisfies your criteria. These are bricks that we are talking about after all. And if somebody doesn't like that either, then the problem lies with them. Some people will never be pleased and as always, it's a vocal minority. What other sets apart from the Maersk line has Lego made for display purposes? All other ships we get are made with play value in mind and those can be marvelous as well. Look at the Imperial Flagship for example. The after market prices are here to prove my point. Oh God, please no. Just not a mosaic We need some confirmation soon lol

Well, since the Falcon is scaled pretty much perfectly, that would mean that UCS X-wings should be way smaller than the current ones, making them just less impressive of a display piece to begin with. The Star Wars UCS line is perfect the way it is, no need to limit themselves with unimportant constraints like that. I tried to find some info about the current situation and pretty much didn't find any conclusive answer. Thanks for the in depth explanation though. It sure is complicated all things considered. I don't think Cobi owns exclusive rights for a brick built model of the Titanic, that just seems absurd to exist given the aforementioned ownership discussion. Why does everyone seem to think the Cobi model is better when we have 0 information about the Lego one lol. No way Lego doesn't deliver with this set. I've been waiting on Lego's official model for over a decade and I always assumed it was a matter of when, not if, for them to release it. With today's part inventory I can't wait to see what they manage to bring us. Lego is the superior brick builder and there is no reason to think their model would underperform because of Cobi. People who aren't fans of brick built systems aren't that impactful I would guess. If they want the Titanic, they would much rather opt for replica models I presume. And with Lego's presence today, the first thing a Titanic enthusiast would find on the market in most cases would be their model.

Well, that's why I said a fraction of the models. Not really needed to scale the A-wing to the X-wing if the latter can't be scaled well with the Falcon etc Anyway, this is getting kind of off topic, let's return to the Titanic

Speaking of new headprints, I hope the Mando figure in Gideon's cruiser gets a new one. It's really needed at this point and would serve as an upgrade to the recently released beskar version as well. -
Easier to establish a set scale when all the models you try to replicate are pretty much in the same size to begin with. Star Wars has ships that range in size from very small fighters to huge star destroyers and trying to keep a fraction of that in scale would be rather pointless in my opinion.

Isn't it that just a bunch of companies own the salvage rights but nothing more than that? Technically if someone were somehow to salvage the entire ship they would be able to claim ownership over it? Hype levels just exploded!
