  1. They shrunk the X-Jet! LOL
  2. As my avatar shows, yes X-men are definitely the highlight. I think (hope) that other characters get made as the series progresses.
  3. Of all the Disney sets that have come out this year, it has only been the Castle, Clamshell and Enchanted Treehouse (minidoll), that appear not have sold out in any way, at least on the US web site. I don't have hard data but that's what I noticed from periodically checking the web site. The repeat, the remake, and the minidoll set, respectively, are the ones not selling as much as the other ones. I do hope Lego takes this into account for the coming years.
  4. I wonder if this will be a new trend. Lego will be spreading parts across several separate packages (or in the future, in some sets) to force people to buy those several items? Let's see how the final Sentinel build is. Knowing what accessories the other CMFs have, I just can't think how the completed Sentinel will be really substantial.
  5. I think if Lego made two or several small sets for the Little Mermaid with at least one of them being based on the classic, and the others based on the live-action remake, it would have worked great! I think now, the fans of the original just felt shut out of this wave of Lego mini fig-based Disney sets. I completely agree with you - there is no telling which way Lego would go. I hope Disney itself does not re-work that cottage in the upcoming movie. Lego has rejected the Ideas set. I almost feel now that the cottage will be the only remnant of the original tale. Now I wonder if the reason really is on technical build quality or because it would 'clash' with what is to come. LOL
  6. Re-using Tiana was just a tragedy! Hoping the Beast CMF does not come with a lab coat, and the X-Mansion version does...at least there is that variation. Some YouTubers have been enumerating the characters in that upcoming animated series. I am really hoping we get at least of the regulars at some point. (rest of the regulars seem to be, Jean Grey, Rogue, Cyclops, Morph, Sunspot, Bishop, Gambit, and Jubilee).
  7. The internet has recently been abuzz with photos of the seven 'people' accompanying Snow White in the live action movie. @JeanGreyForever might only be slightly relieved that they won't indeed be talking animals or walking vegetables, but actual people. :)) Anyway, I bring this up because this may be how that Cottage slated for next year might be populated with minifigs. Remember, Disney decided to make the Little Mermaid set after the live-action instead of the classic. It's been awfully quiet...no news yet for the last three remaining 100 sets, as well as Agrahbah.
  8. I kept wondering why the choice of Wolverine, Storm and Beast as the CMF X-men, since Wolverine has been made as a minifig so many times. Now I just saw the teaser trailer and it is them three featured. Aren't those three also going to be on the rumored X-Mansion?
  9. Agree...perhaps overall just more tiles with prints? Anyway, I am very curious how substantial that completed Sentinel will be. I am somehow doubting that the three CMF sets will form an actual minifig. I would not mind an Avatar-style tallfig though. LOL
  10. Love the idea of a department store!!! Potentially, they could perhaps do a "crossover" of the WV and Mod themes!!!
  11. Something like this: https://www.roboticparking.com/how-it-works/
  12. To save space, it could actually be one of those robotic parking garages!
  13. I believe the Town Hall had an elevator.
  14. The Disney Camera is now on pre-order (USA)! Let's see how long before pre-orders sell out...
  15. The argument for new minifig moulds would be relative... SW gets all the good stuff because it sells. That Villain icons set looks like it sold pretty well: pre-order got closed quickly, the it went on backorder, then finally temporarily sold out. In other words, there is demand! Lego would be stupid to look the other way. Great observation about the display items vs playlets/ dioramas... why do you think that is so??? My guess is that Lego perhaps hasn't really fully realized the potential of Disney minifig sets. In other words, they are (still) protecting the Princess/ minidoll line. Agree - kinda boring. They could have done a Wizard Mickey minifig variant standing atop the mountain. Or perhaps Tinker Belle with her fairy friends! Or Bambi with a bunch of new animal moulds and recolors. Ambitious, I know. But don't you think those will sell better than mere display pieces? Adding some color highlights or just eyes was the least Lego could have done. Just taking the crab piece as it is seems kinda lazy. Well, don't they have a buildable fig set planned for next year?
  16. Is the Marvel CMF releasing in September? When might we get images?
  17. Thumper and Flower? I would not be surprised if Lego takes an existing System or Friends animal mould, barely paints it, and calls it something. Take the tragic case of Sebastian in that clamshell. LOL Honestly, the Friends/ Mini-doll line raccoon and pug are not bad to display as Meeko and Percy, for lack of better alternative. And they are way better than Sebastian's latest incarnation. They could still do a small legs minifig Timothy mouse if they make a Dumbo Mech... I would not be surprised if Lego goes there with the Disney theme, thanks to all the YT influencers. Sword in the Stone...I wonder if there might be conflicting copyrights with offering a full Lego set vs a simple reference?
  18. Duplo-ish. LOL Agree with you. I could see how Mickey + Oswald could have worked. Or perhaps Oswalds friends? I think re-using B&W Mickey and Minnie saved them some minifig development costs. Those bolded and underlined have yet to be represented by any minifig. How many times has Sword in the Stone been referenced this year? This would be the third time? (100 yrs Icons, castle, then this). The concept of hunchback, I would think is against Disney's policy of being anti-controversial. Would love to get a set/ some minifigs though. Is this strip the first time that Lego is releasing such a type of 'part'???
  19. Yes, yes, yes! Perhaps they could have used the existing baby elephant body and just made a new head? This one looks a bit non- Lego.
  20. In the US, the Peter Pan set has 'sold out' on pre-orders. Let's see if it sells out when it is formally released. I think both the Duos and Villains also sold out on pre-orders but I think only the Villains sold out on formal release (backorder, then out of stock). The CMF sold out at some point as well (backorder, then out of stock). Did the 100 Icons and Celebration Train also go on backorder (but not out of stock) at some point? I can't remember because I got both of them early. That leaves the castle, and enchanted treehouse (and the clamshell) as not selling so 'well'. LOL (although the clamshell is not part of the 100 celebrations)
  21. One or two bespoke moulds in a small set here and there wouldn't hurt... Lego made a sitting down Eeyore in an Ideas set, perhaps to test the waters and it appears successful. They would now have to figure out how to make Kanga... LOL Ditto. In an Youtuber's interview of the clamshell designer, it was mentioned that Lego "...has an adult strategy..." moving forward. We will probably get a set or two each year after the 100th celebrations. Case in point, there were those leaked survey images of possible sets for next year. With the popularity of most of the sets this year (I am guessing that, given that a number of them went on backorder after initial sale), Lego would be unwise to stop with the minifig sets this year.
  22. On that note, which iconic Disney animation movies have yet to be either represented (with a minifig), or referenced (in any set) so far with all the releases? Here is my list: Dumbo Bambi Lady and the Tramp The Jungle Book Lion King The Hunchback of Notre Dame A Bug's Life
  23. Just summarizing the minidolls not yet produced as minifigs... *Beauty and *Beast *Merida Mirabel, Antonio, Abuela Raya, Boun, human Sisu Kristoff, Lieutenant Matthias Eric, Alana, Arista Fairy godmother Prince Philip Lady Tremaine Namaari, (Maui's big-minidoll form could pass for a bigfig... the body is exactly the same as all other bigfigs, and looking at Marvel sets, the heads change per character just like Maui, except for the latest Thanos version). *Beauty, Beast, and Merida have been made as Brickheadz as well. I am hoping they come out this year and not when the next CMF comes out in the next 3-4 years!!! First CMF was 2016, and the second was in 2019. Isn't Prince Philip rumored to come out next year? I feel that Prince Eric, Fairy godmother and Lady Tremaine are important (classic) characters that should be released sooner rather than later.
  24. I visited my local Lego shop and they had the castle on the front display. It does not look and 'feel' as majestic as on the lifestyle photos. In contrast, the Rivendell set was 'chopped up' into three sections and displayed in one of the shelf cubbies and it still looked majestic! Which Disney characters have been made as minidolls from Lego but have not yet been produced as minifigs? I came up with the following list but not sure it is complete... Beauty and Beast Mirabel, Antonio, Abuela Raya Kristoff Arista (Ariel's sister) Went to a store today and they still had the GWP... Perhaps that's why Lego still mentions it on their web site.
  25. From the US web site, I pre-ordered the Peter Pan set and bought the Animations Icons frame last night and got the GWP. I wasn't sure about getting the Sanderson's set so I just left it in my cart and thought I would sleep on that decision. Sanderson's is now on backorder and there is no GWP with it in my cart! It looks like Lego closed pre-orders for the Peter Pan set as well. I am thinking that the castle would not sell as well at Lego because of all the fans who already have the previous one. Perhaps it might be more successful at the Disney stores though.
