Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Four
SoupOrFishOil replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Kendra, thanks for putting all of the effort into this case, but can you please answer my question before tomorrow? Anyway, I think that either Kendra or Adam must be scum and I don't want today to end without a lynch, so I will take a chance and vote Adam (badboytje88). Ian was a pretty trustworthy townie, and I think that we have to look into his suspicions. -

I think I have found why Fury's car is green. This was the first result for a Google image search of, "nick furys flying car." -

Ooh, it is the video game Batboat. I really like the Bat-head shape much better than the Batwing. I might have to get a second just to mod it. That Spidey/Venom set looks pretty good too. I'm pretty sure that the car can convert between flight/driving modes. I don't like the color scheme too much because it reminds me of those Naboo speeders from Episode I of Star Wars, but it's probably accurate to the show? -
LEGO Batman The Movie DC Super Heroes United.

IGN posted trailer earlier. It really just looks like a polished version of the video game's cutscenes (or maybe with just a few small visual changes, I played it on a Wii ). -

I don't think that it would make things equal because they would likely be significantly different in size, but if other people do not feel that way, then fine. I still don't think it will happen though. -

I don't know why people are so sure that there will be another Marvel set next year. The only reason that DC has one more than Marvel is because of Arkham, which is a D2C set. Having two D2C sets from the same genre released in the same year is kind of nonsensical. I think that it will be at least two years before Marvel gets a set like that, maybe three or four. I'm sure that Marvel will get one, but not until a little down the line. If there are any more sets at all next year, they would probably be for Thor: The Dark World which I think would be close enough to the end of the year for it to be considered not exactly a 2014 set, but would take away from any Marvel sets being released in January 2014. (Kind of like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.) -
I'm not so fond of the Stealth Shell. I fell in love with it when somebody linked to that model, and I think that TLG could be more creative. I still might get the set though for parts and I really like Fishface. The underground lair is really great though. Overall, I think that so far this theme is pretty good and I'm looking forward to seeing the other sets.

Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Four
SoupOrFishOil replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah, okay. Yeah, I would have voted for Christine yesterday, but her voting for Zachary gave me more of a middle of the road feeling. Could you tell me what you mean by this? When you say that, I think that you are referring to the lack of a kill. What if that is the town killer and they were blocked by the scum? Then the scum would have a very good idea who the vig is, and we do not want that. -

Too bad about Ian there. Henrietta too I suppose, but you know... Yes, I know I have been quiet, but is there anything in particular you would, *sniff,* like me to answer too? -

Hm, I didn't catch that while watching the movie, but now looking over pictures I do see it. I do think that the printing does look good, but a molded mask would be too big I think. Other than Star Wars though (and action figures and spinners, I guess), LEGO doesn't often use that strategy that you need to buy more than one set for "maximum playability." What image are you looking at? The only expression I can make out on Nova is the one he had at SD comic-con. -

I can see how people do prefer the black over blue, and thank you DarthPotato for photoshopping that image, but to me it looks boring. I don't care for Nolan's "realistic" vehicles myself, except for the Tumbler, but I prefer it as a bat-tank over a bat-mobile. The blue makes the BAT feel futuristic and while I still wouldn't prefer it to the '89 Batwing or other Batplanes (except as a LEGO model where I think it is better than both), I think it gives it a good, cartoony vibe. I don't own the figure, but what I have seen of him it is pretty good. It would actually be less complex for Bane and probably Spidey to have printing on the side of their heads than Lobot too I think because I'm counting about four colors on the side of Lobot's head plus a few shapes, whereas those mentioned above would only have a couple lines and coloring. You know, I never noticed that before, and I now I'm kind of confused. I don't follow Star Wars LEGO much, but I have never heard of a complaint regarding either Lobot minifigure in that sense and the pictures I have seen of both of his variations, official and unofficial, look as fine as any other minifigure. I'm sure that there are potential quality control problems, but I think that a minifigure head would be easier to print than an astromech one. I wonder why it has been limited to just Lobot. I mean, it's been 11 years and they have only done it twice. I wonder what is holding them back. Anyway, I think that Bane would actually be more accurate with a head the color of his mask (which I'm pretty sure isn't olive ) and flesh printed on, rather than this way. It would reduce the (I use the word loosely) "need" for side printing because the color would be there. I wonder if the way Captain America turned out (with a golden tan) has anything to do with this choice. -

Okay, but that's not what I get out of you saying that they were lazily and cheaply done. I'd rather have a decently sized set with only necessary detail than an undersized one with superfluous detail myself though. -

I wouldn't say that LEGO has been lazy here at all. Though I do admit that the sets may be weak, I would say that is due more to fairly low price points than laziness. If they were lazy, I doubt we would have details like JJJ's screen or a furnished interior to the DBC. Though the Bat and Tumbler may not be very detailed, (especially the Tumbler) I still stand by what I said about how they are pretty good representations at a small scale. -

I need to start staying up later. I had the strangest dreams...I need more caffeine. Good to see that two scum were caught. Congrats to the vig! And I really must thank all of the little germs for not getting dirty, dirty Zachary sick. Anyway, it's already time to vote and people need to speak up. Ian, could you expand on anything you may have noticed? That would be great. -

Though I agree to some extent, I think that we should consider ourselves lucky that we have a chance to own official models of these vehicles and characters. It was pretty dark. Wow, I didn't think of that combo, but that would look pretty cool. -

SoupOrFishOil replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not much. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by it. The Tumbler is just okay, it at least needs a sticker on the windshield I think, but it's a pretty good representation of it made with less than 150 pieces without using any "illegal" techniques I think. I would still class it as just good though. I actually really like the Bat. I didn't care for how it looked in the movie, but LEGO took it and made it cartoony and colorful and well, fun. I'd still probably scrap it for parts or use it to recolor and improve the Tumbler, but I actually do like this set. It isn't amazing, but it's okay. Now the Spider-Man set I don't care for so much. The building seems okay, and it looks like it is actually furnished, but I wish that they could add a bit more of an element of realisim. I think that the Doomjet is loads worse than any vehicle in this theme from this year, except maybe the Funhouse cycle. That fire-escape is also so nonsensical that I think that it would look much better without it. I actually had expectations for this set, and I would rather get the Ock one or just save up for Arkham. Yes, but would kids? -
I can't say I really care for it and I'm not a Turltes fan, so I'll skip. Other than the villain figures nothing interests me that couldn't be found in Ninjago, or at least in this set.

Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Two

After thinking this through, I have decided to vote Isaac (TrumpetKing67) because his slip-ups are too numerous and getting a bit confusing. I will unvote him though if anything more incriminating comes up with someone else. *sniff* His accusation of Kendra is interesting though, so if Isaac flips town I'd like to look into her. -

Yeah, I just wanted to hear him speak up. I wouldn't actually kill him for it. *sniff* At least not that alone. That said, I will Unvote: Zachary (zakura) for now because I think that enough people have voted for him to keep him talking. -

Achoo Three townies? Hold me Joe! A slip would refer to pretty much any mistake you have made. And those slips are what have made you suspicious. It's not that other people don't make them, you have just made a lot. I have been a vig before and it's easy to feel paranoid. Sure, Andrea and Gary were pretty active townies, but like Christine said, it was probably because they were so active. A vig has a hard choice to make, and sometimes they will feel like the most active player is scum trying to lead the town. We do still have nearly a whole day to find other suspects, but if nothing comes up (and I doubt that will happen) I agree that lynching Zach or someone else who isn't active might be the way to go. Achooo.... Here you go.
