Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
SoupOrFishOil replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I still like Venom the way he is. Though I do like Hulk as a large figure, it's more because I don't feel like a normal minifigure captures his posture (though I do love the promo Hulk ). Venom on the other hand doesn't need a mold, in my opinion at least. -
A very nice display you have there. Are those Iron-Man and Spidey figs at the top custom? Edit: Looks like there are more customs there. I'm not that familiar with Marvel, could somebody please tell me who they are?

I'm not so sure we'll get Catwoman. You are right that she is better known than the Commissioner, but another Catwoman minifigure is available in a small set. It isn't movie based, but honestly, I don't think that kids would care. It's still Catwoman. It is still possible that we'll get her of course, but personally, I think that if you could put the goggles on her hair it would most likely end up being thin and smooth in one part, like other headpieces for goggles, but more detailed in others and would just look strange without the goggles. I'd think that they'd be cheap (nothing wrong with that here, really), print the goggles, and reuse a hairpiece (Dumbledore's, maybe?). A new mold would be great if done right though. I just don't think that she really needs it. At least not as much as characters like Magneto. -

I that that they were rebooting the series without Nolan. -
I see both sides of the argument, but I think I prefer Hulk as a large mold just because he feels more like Hulk. I do think that Characters like Bane and Venom be regular minifigures though. I think I'd prefer Clayface like Hulk.

If it is that big, it had better include Catwoman. Three minifigures for $80 is terrible in a theme where they are the main draw. -

Proof that I didn't know what I was talking about. I do remember him with a cape somewhere though. -

Flash of course, but not the video game design like Aquaman, Shazam, and Bizarro have. I also want Batgirl and Nightwing. If I remember correctly, Killer Moth actually wears a cape, not wings. He only has the wings in the LEGO games. -
Seems pretty realistic, except you seem to have forgotten Aquaman and Beetle. Maybe something like Mr. Freeze and Penguin teaming up, capturing Aquaman, keeping him frozen aboard Penguin's submarine, and Arctic Batman comes to rescue him in the Batboat?

Thanks, I don't do well with movie news. I'm just glad I got two out of three right. -

Maybe, and I wouldn't mind, but I bet that the summer wave is reserved for the Man of Steel and Iron-Man 3 sets we heard about, and possibly Thor 2. -
The minifigure guesses seem realistic, I can see Penguin or a few Marvel characters being switched around though. The price points too, I do think that the Daily Bugle especially would probably be a larger set than the Tumbler and that your expectations for Arkham are too big/high.

No, I don't know the color names but these are more purple than the pink Umbridge. -

I don't think so, it lacks that Gothic design. I think that it's a rejected prototype for something. It doesn't make sense to me why they would purposely display a new set without announcing it. New York Comic-Con. I remember the first preliminary pictures coming out a week before NYCC last year though. The press release only mentioned figures. -

I'm mostly satisfied, but I never will be until we get Batgirl. Jumpsuit Joker Joker was my favorite minifigure from the first wave, but I'm kind of annoyed that we are getting him again. At least he has a prison uniform though. Harleen Quinzel I didn't see this coming. A great surprise. Minifigures that were skipped in the Batman theme appearing gives me hope that we may see Batgirl. Black Wing Batman I'm a little annoyed, since I bought a second Catwoman set and painted the wings black. Oh well. White Batman This is from the Arkham City promotions right? A bit off an oddity, but cool none the less. Aquaman I really didn't see this coming, I'd think we'd get Flash or Green Lantern first, but I'm not complaining. I think he's my favorite of the batch, rivaled only by Harleen. TDKR Bane I don't care for the movie design, but what such great detailing. TDKR Batman Not much of an improvement over the 2008 one, it certainly doesn't compare to the exclusive one, and what is up with those legs? I'll still be happy to add it to my collection though. TDKR Gordon I'd prefer a comic version, but I'm just happy to get Gordon. Mr. Freeze Pretty good, but I hope he has a double-sided face with goggles. I'm just so used to him having them that he looks weird without them. It doesn't help that his eyes are zombified like Two-Face's either. Robin I'd rather have Batgirl instead of what is just a couple easy changes from last year's Robin to make an Arkham City one. The Penguin He's okay. I really hate that face though, I think the problem is the eye showing through the monocle. I think I prefer his older version. The Scarecrow Not bad, but I think he could use a cape. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see him in person. Beetle I've never heard of him before, but he seems interesting enough. Dr. Doom I'm a little disappointed, he was one of the few Marvel characters I was hoping for. The green hood is useful though. I'll probably just wait for a comic version. J. Jonah Jameson A simple, yet good figure. Nick Fury Another good one. I don't know what else to say. Nova I'm not familiar with the character, but the design is strange. That helmet especially. Venom Ooh... -

Actually, if they follow the core gallery like they are supposed to (unless they have a good reason not to for DC) Arkham will probably be comparable to the last photo here. -

There could still be new villains arriving to break Joker and co. out, like somebody suggested with Scarecrow. And we may get new heroes with it too, Nightwing comes to mind (considering how the last DC sets were mostly rehashes). -

I meant to hit the post before yours, but when I went to post I had quoted yours so I looked below, copied and pasted the other one but forgot to fix the top. Terribly sorry. -

I really like Shazam and Venom looks stylish, not matter the design, but I just hope that Green Lantern and Flash (or better, Nightwing and Batgirl ) will be displayed tomorrow, I like them better anyways. You mean Saturday, tomorrow is DC. Oh sorry, multiple paragraphs on one day confuses me. -

I think we saw Phoenix in the Quinjet earlier this year. Bizarro looks very good, and Phoenix is fine, she's more useful though. I really hate exclusives. But like others have said, it doesn't mean we can't get them later! No pictures of Shazam and Venom yet? -

No, actually, they said this for DC: And this for Marvel: They are only unveiling minifigures, not sets. The Avengers, Spider-man, and X-Men sets are probably just referring to the ones we got (or are getting in Spidey's case) this year. Thanks. -

Where did you here about that? -
I don't know about Black Widow, not too familiar with her, but Catwoman looks good in her costume.

It really isn't overpriced. I still don't know if I'll get it though, I'd rather get the DC Dictionary first. -
I don't really appreciate your tone, but here. These were the best I could find.
