  1. Indeed I am. Mwahahahaha. That is not actually true. The way the system is set up, since we're making 6 figures go at it all at once and have people choose only their #1 pick, it can be the case that the winner of a group would have lost against the runner-up if the other 4 choices hadn't been there. So the group matters. For instance, there was a group with 2 space candidates: the galactic girl and retro spaceman. The latter lost by a razor-thin margin to the winner (which was neither of the space figs). It's not hard to imagine that if the galactic girl wasn't on that same group, the retro spaceman would have won. The presence of spoiler candidates can have a big effect on the winner of the group. In actuality, the winner of the game might not be the same as if every elimination was of one figure against another, which strictly speaking is the only true way to find the #1 fig, but isn't practical.
  2. Some figures have had terrible luck. For instance, both the Hot Dog Guy and Banana man were placed in awful groups, and lost as a result. The randomizer is pretty cruel if you ask me.
  3. Another sci-fi figure down... [sigh... fi] I'm really bummed. Anyways, for group 52 I'm giving the mariachi mi voto. He's super iconic and I loved him the minute I saw his design.
  4. Laser robot!!! Let's do this! Let's get a robot into the next round! On a side note, I'm sad that one of my favorite series, 13, only managed to qualify with 2 minifigs, when those aren't even the two best ones in my opinion.
  5. Very true. I hadn't thought of that. The strategy works for blind packs of IP characters because people are already sold on those. But the Highwayman has never been seen before (this design), so people aren't already sold on it.
  6. Yeah, to me voting for a figure is independent of its army building potential. Voted Cyclops, so don't worry. But if the Samurai loses by a vote, you'll have wished that I had voted Samurai. To me, it was a close one between the Evil Wizard and the Cyclops, but I decided to give the Cyclops the edge because it was a first in Lego at the time. Edit: @Robert8 I doubt you'll be happy with my decision.
  7. I'd already thought of that (but clearly in real life the causation goes the other way around ).
  8. Trust me, nothing has hurt me the most aside from the Clockwork robot's sad loss. I don't think I'll get over that. I'm sure this is the work of army builders wanting to make an army of hikers.
  9. Yeah, space doesn't get that much love usually in this game. Heck, somehow the space villain performed very poorly.
  10. Interesting. I guess the thing I like about Mr. Gold was that it was a celebration of 10 minifigure series. Sadly they didn't make it more widely available, so not many people were able to be part of the celebration, which to me renders it somewhat useless. Oh well. He's getting his shiny butt kicked very badly. I expect him to come out with many scratches and chrome paint peeling off.
  11. Couldn't agree more. Maybe I wouldn't dislike the figure as a collector so much if they had placed one per box. But heck, it quickly became more expensive than the Chrome C-3PO, and that I'll never understand. Sounds like someone is biased by owning the figure?
  12. Whenever there are leaked pictures, there are a couple instagram accounts that I always check...
  13. Undisputably the Alien Trooper for me. I'll admit I was tempted to vote for Mr. Gold to curse the crap out of him, but he seems to be doing pretty badly without my help already.
  14. This sounds like Sausage Party: The Lego Edition. And hey, it's supposed to be a costume party after all, so I guess it's fitting.
  15. It sure is. It's one of my favorite series, if not my favorite one. It also has what I think is my favorite CMF (the clockwork robot, which many voters here so savagely eliminated ). I'm sure glad that is the case!
  16. That makes two of us. See above. Anyways, Lady Liberty easily crushes this round. It's funny, because if she wins this round (and so far it's early but it seems that she might by a landslide) then almost half of Series 6 will qualify to the next round (7 figures). And the Classic Alien is still to play, but there are not as many space lovers here as I'd hope. I also find it amazing how lackluster Series 10 is beating Series 7 at number of wins. So far the only more successful series than 10 is 6! Couldn't see this coming at the beginning of the game.
  17. I never imagined I would see the day when someone would call a S10 minifig one of "older minifigures". Kinda makes me feel old.
  18. I wouldn't say that (but he might, for all I know). It's not one of my favorite figures, but I just feel it stands out in this group, a little above the revolutionary soldier.
  19. I agree. It's a weak round for me, but Larry easily beats the competition in my opinion. He's winning too. Then again, I just voted for him, so he might be screwed.
