LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

Right. Speaking of that, the genie is my definite fave! (For the moment). It will probably remain so. But if is not... at least one of the 6 figs is uber awesome -

Interesting! We're both on the same system. I just made mine a month ago. It took a while. But one of my favorite characteristics of Excel is its versatility. You can sort your rows by any column you wish, you can eliminate double entries, etc. I just wish I had known to use Excel when I was 13 and began to keep track of my stuff! -

I'd love to have a Lego room! But I'm most likely more than a decade away from having my own house. How many boxes did it take? Do they fit in a single truck??? I'm glad your girl is getting her own room now! Perhaps she'll even have her own Lego room there But I get you completely... I hate having to store sets in boxes because of lack of space -

Seeing all these stories makes me wonder: how could this thread ever become inactive? Surely most members here have stories about great bargains. -

Keeping a list doesn't mean necesarilly "ticking off" another list and just store your sets in a corner. In my case, I find inventoring my sets helpful because I like each of them for their uniqueness, and so I like to have some data of them, such as the date in which I acquired them, because I have a special care for each of my sets. Having an inventory doesn't necesarily mean that you just stack your sets away and buy them just to "tick them off" from a list. As for building, even though I enjoy it, it's just a matter of personal preference that I like to keep them assembled. Of course, the main value of Lego is its construction value. Although I would enjoy building things with my sets, I don't prefer this over having them assembled in their original designs. I used to build with them when I was younger, but it's just not my personal preference anymore. I think that even though the people who use their imagination with these make awesome creations that we can all enjoy, including the people at Lego, there is nothing wrong with enthusiasts not dissasembling their sets. Lego is a toy, and just as you could have a toy car or an action figure because you like it, buying a set and keeping it assembled doesn't mean that you don't enjoy it, or that it wasn't worth buying it. It doesn't mean either that you don't have the imagination to build with it. We just all enjoy Lego in different ways. Edit: I do, however, know that there are many people who do what you are describing, and collect just for the sake of it without enjoying their sets. I'm just pointing out that not all of those that don't dissasemble their sets are that way. -

Cool! Do you have a picture of your cabinet with the figs? I found some cases that can store around 120 figs but cost around $17. They're good quality though. -

For us who don't have an option of buying these in a store, what's the best option online to get all 16 figures in sealed bags? What's the optimal time to buy these at? -

I agree. Brickset has a lot of valuable features. I like also the fact that they tell you the total retail value of your collection, helps with your figs, and lets you sort your sets by a lot of different criteria. By the way, cool avatar! Three of my favorite figs -
Classic Space Stickered Torso Minifigs

I'm not sure... I even contacted a guy on BL who has a huge Classic Space collection and told me had found one in a set and knew it was authentic; he just couldn't remember where from. I do think it is suspicious that nobody seems to know for sure where, if authentic, these figs come from and why. -
Cool ! Amazing link, thanks!!!

I understand. In my case, I can't stand having one of my sets dissassembled, or having their parts mixed -
Boss bullying, I loved that! I would use the hook and reverse, especially with Captain Roger (personal grudge there). I managed to get it running on Windows Vista. Some years after playing the game, I found about its cheats. There is nothing like the first race with the first circuit, with the Max power-up cheat and the all red power-up cheat enabled at the same time! If you add to that the super fast cheat, it's a killer! I couldn't resist uploading some ridiculous racers I made on purpose This guy is so clueless, he forgot his pants, helmet, and built his car the wrong way! I think this must be the most massive car you may build. I made it for top speed, but in the end it's just a funny block car! You may infer this guy got his car wrecked, or maybe they stole all his pieces. Bottom line is, he's got one of the worst cars ever! (L stands for loser ) Another candidate for the worst cars ever. This car is unbalanced on purpose! Ohhh the times. I built these when I was 13 years old, just for the fun of it

These are the best I have ever seen! I always wanted to see some decent decals for RR and VV like these, and you just exceeded my expectatives !!! Have you already made the figures with these decals? Looking forward for that helmet logo Are you going to make the decal for the guy's car? By the way, how did you get the logo right? Did you have to make it from scratch? One question, and forgive me for being a noob Why are the leg decals transparent, and not the torso or the face? Cheers! -

Interesting. In my case, I have found that making an Excel sheet has a few valuable features: as much entries as you want (piece count, minifigure count, theme, set name, set number, date of acquisition, year of release, notes, etc.), ability to sort your sets by whichever criterion you want (or even several of them), ability to change the font and looks of the document, easily printed, and most importantly in my opinion, great compatibility (even if we saw Excel die someday, there should be some way to import the whole matrix into whichever program comes to replace it). It takes a while to tab in all the info, but once it's done, it's very satisfactory. I certainly recommend it! -

I had heard about this program, but thought it was mainly for sellers. Is it good to keep personal inventories too? -

It's certainly good to meet a fellow enthusiast! I've always found it odd that there are almost no websites specifically for minifigure collectors. What you can see is mostly people uploading pictures of their HUGE personal collections. In my case, I have a list with all my minifigures and some of their data (see this topic I posted). It helps me keep track of them! How do you store yours? -

Hahahaha! That's a nice poster! I've got my own "Top 10 most wanted minifigs" By the way, did you manage to get one in the end? I don't know if you're interested, but I've seen some used ones on eBay not selling so high. (One even at $99 I think). They appear like every three months, I would say... In my case, luckily I found out about these guys before it was too late, in 2008 (it actually took me out of my short dark ages!), and managed to get one at a high but fairly reasonable price. Who knows? Maybe Lego will re-release it someday. -

I'd definitely like the Jedi starfighters from Anaking and Obi-Wan from the first scene of Ep. III in UCS. Not that I could afford them , but it would still be a big treat!

I have an Excel document with separate sheets in which I have entries for all my sets, minifigures, keychains, promo bricks, and even accesories, with info such as item number, year of release, date of acquisition, and such. What about you? How do you keep track of your collection?
