Mini-figs going to Jupiter
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Deeks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
5 grant per figure !!!! Wouldn't it be sweet to get replicas of these... I envy these guys' awesome trip, altough I pity their inexorable fate!!! If C-3PO was with them, he would most certainly say: "We're doomed!" I'm glad the people at NASA keep their inner child On a sidenote, I wonder if there has ever been a minifigure in Antarctica. -
Greetings!

Thanks, nice to meet you! Well, depending on the definition of minifigure you prefer, between 450 and 500 including repeats . Are you a minifig collector too? Thanks! I'm having a good time for the moment . Much appreciated! -
Sorry if this has been posted about before, but I couldn't find it. There are supposed to be stickered versions of the black and the blue classic spacemen (Black, Blue). Nobody I've spoken to is 100% sure where these come from, or why they were made. Does anyone have any info about these? In addition, does anybody know why there is no yellow stickered fig? And speaking of this, any tips on getting the red and the white stickered spacemen in pristine conditions?

Storage and Sorting LEGO
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Does anyone here have a good method for storing keychains? I would like a volume efficient solution that doesn't expose keychains to dust (I keep them in small ziplock baggies). Currently I just put all these small bags into a big plastic bag, but this makes it hectic to find any single keychain. What about a similar solution for minifigs? -
Your dream Lego theme
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Was just going to say that! Apart from that, maybe some Star Trek things, and my life would be complete! (Talk about overstating ) Another thing that I think is a good idea is visiting old classics that don't need licenses because they're in the public domain, such as Verne's and Wells' works. Wouldn't a Nautilus be awesome? And we wouldn't even have to pay for the licensing rights, so it wouldn't be as expensive! -

Completely true... I wonder if Lego will take any measures against this happening again. Maybe they will be sanctioned? -

Excellent pictures!!! -
Thanks! I'll sure do. Right now my current project is reducing the my SW minifigure gap Unfortunately these are so expensive... It makes buying sets very difficult.

Review: 6982 - Explorien Starship
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread! I just have to say, great review! Unfortunately this set is so big that I'm not able to store it assembled. I do enjoy its great play value. I remember that I bought this set for myself in 2003, I ran out of money because of it, but I had drooled over it ever since I learned it existed (the theme had already been discontinued). Great set, but it's true, it doesn't have a very solid design. Aesthetically, it completely appeals to me. -

Fair enough. If that is the explanation, then I think that Lego is right. Still, I just don't see why those companies that copy Lego's stuff haven't taken advantage of this. -
Bringing back Monorail.
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to splatman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As much as I love the original monorails, I would rather have Lego do something closer to the real thing. I would prefer a monorail that looks more like this: The monorail tracks Lego made sometimes feel more like a "road" than a rail, because of its thickness relative to the cars'. In addition, the cars don't grip the track as the real ones do. Don't get me wrong, I love the monorail classics, and would personally love to get a sealed 6990. What I'm trying to say is that if Lego is going to revisit the monorail, it could do it more realistically. -

If you need so, I have a complete game saved in my computer, with all her car parts. -

That would make A LOT of sense. However, I do wonder why nobody has done it with all the pic leaks there have been. -

I think that the right thing is to remove the pictures from the site if Lego asks to. I don't see why Lego does it in the first place though. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Exactly! Same happened with the leaked series 5 pics, and every other set of pics that have been leaked. Might as well let people post them if they're going to see them anyway, in my opinion. -
Ahhhhh, I love that picture!!!! Currently my SW minifig collection only amounts to around 50 guys, and maybe I have around 30 keychains
-
I agree with the statements made before. To me, only Iron Man makes sense as a buildable fig.
-
Actually, me too. I would hope for such a game only if we had already got separate ones, to be able to explore each universe deeply. But as I said, I don't think there is anything but a slim chance of them doing a Marvel Vs. DC game.

DeLorean from Back to the Future
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to hachiroku's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That's a very cool model! I always dreamed of doing something like this, but I don't have the pieces. Long time ago, I had found a guy who made a model that he could modify to make it look like any of the DeLorean variations, including the one from BTTF3! The wheels could even rotate down! -

Personally, I don't see the purpose of trying to repress info on the internet... It is simply impossible, and it is a well known effect that if you try to do so, people will just start sharing it even more! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
At $64 a full, sealed collection, including shipping, I'm undecided on the future of my collectible minifigs. Of course, I love them! And considering all licensed figs are so much more expensive than these guys, they're a very good deal. I enjoy so much taking out my series 1-4 figs and seeing the colorful bunch... I guess I'll just have to find a way to make more money for these guys! :) -
Minifigure Speech Bubbles?

It's an interesting idea... I just don't like the way they made them. I don't see this becoming a profitable product either... -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
When I read this news, I was just prompted to begin reading comics! Unfortunately they're very expensive and hard to get in my country. But now, thanks to the digital age, I have began reading .cbr and .cbz comics, especially from Marvel Vs. DC! And let me say, I'm even more hyped now! On the other hand, reading the original Amazing Spider-Man comics has made me realize how far from the "real" life of Peter Parker this upcoming movie is going to be. I'm so relieved to know that Lego doesn't own the rights to that movie, and that we would get the comic book Spider-Man! I would have liked a black Spider-Man from Spider-Man 3 though.
