Hi Paulo! It's great seeing another Latin American member. As you can see, there are quite a few of us around here. Welcome to Eurobricks!

Who buys whole sets for figs
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to lotryay's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sometimes, I purchase small, nice sets that contain great figs. But with the big sets, I just go Bricklink or eBay, since I have too many figs on my wishlist as to buy all the sets they come in. -
Thanks! Very well done by the way!

Oh, I see, thanks! Those corkscrews looked like regular axle joiners to me when I first looked at the pics.
-
In that project's pic, is that in the back a McQuarrie concept art R2? That could work too, I believe. Anyways, I agree that these kind of items (concept art sets) are not as popular, but for an anniversary, they could be perfect for the most die hard fans.

Very impressive! I especially like the look of those brick bricks at the back It would be great if you added some more interior details too. I like the elevator detail. I can't see very clearly, so, how do you get the elevators to go up or down just by turning that axle?

You're welcome. Oh! Well, I would have tried to add a bit more distance between the bottom and the ground, but that's just a matter of personal taste. It looks great anyways.

MOC: Appalachian Trail shelter
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to slovakiasteph's topic in LEGO Town
I wasn't aware that they meant different things until you asked and you brought it up. It'd be hiking + camping, so backpacking, right? I'm sorry things didn't work out. Do you hike there often? -
Thanks for the review! I might be getting this. It's small, cool, cheap, and it includes an awesome fig.
-
Precisely! Never afraid to make a "mistake". I miss my building days. Seeing so many MOCs has made me wish to buy a bucket for myself.

Lord of the Flies
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Darkdragon's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
You're welcome. And yeah, I agree. If you're only going to portray the kids, then you're all right. Regular Lego figs can actually look like children, and yours do. I wasn't aware that there are no short yellow legs yet by the way. -
Wow, the hull is looking amazing. And you've got a great design, so I can't wait to see this completed. Keep it up!
-
I like that you added functions such as suspension. However, when you press it against the surface, doesn't the bottom part touch the ground? Very well overall. I'd also have preferred if you made some windows and closed the interior, but I understand it can be difficult to add to your design.

That would make a very interesting contrast! I would like to see that. Great MOC. Ruins have something special that distinguishes them... Thanks for sharing.

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow! Bane is amazing! You managed to get a very natural look, like the fig was designed to be painted like that. It's very outstanding work! My favorite!! And the Supergirl fig is just perfect. Thanks for showing your work. Kudos! -
850449 LEGO® Minifigure Accessory Pack
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Bricksan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Considering the quality of the VIP fig set is disappointing, does anyone know if these suffered the same fate? -
Ahhhhh, I'm not too sure which of those two I'd choose if I were you. Why don't you give it a shot to both and show both options?

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Anyone else pissed off at not buying the Toy Fair DC promo figs when they were relatively cheap? I kind of feel cheated by Lego. Not that they ever said they were going to release them, but they did create expectations. Hopefully the multi-year license will bring us a new GL fig, but still I loved that new Batman fig and it looks like I'm not going to be able to get it ever. -
Very cool! Even though I tend to be a fan mostly of the minifig era of Lego, I do get a feeling of nostalgia seeing such vintage sets. So awesome.

Lord of the Flies
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Darkdragon's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nice conch shell! This book brings me so many memories... Anyways, I think the figs look great overall. However, they'd probably look more appropiate with short legs, but I understand that it is not possible using a purist approach, or you would lose detail on the legs. It won't be as noticeable if they are not next to an adult fig, though. -
Monster Fighters 2012
1980-Something-Space-Guy replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great. I'm glad to see this theme growing. Hopefully we're looking at multiple set waves too. What could these books be about? I can imagine one being about the characters, sort of like the Character Encyclopedias for the other themes, but what about the other one? -
Looks good. Some outside decoration indicating it is a pizza place would make a great addition. Perhaps you could use some of the pizza pieces as decoration, or some stickers, as suggested before me.
