  1. Doesn’t make sense. I sincerely hope it’s not out of something similar to what happened with Jabba’s palace 🙄
  2. Exactly how I feel. We should definitely answer the surveys on the back of the instructions every time we buy a lego set and tell them this. I don’t know why it bugs me so much but cutesy grinny faces are horrid, leave those to generic lego themes where likenesses are irrelevant.
  3. I thought the same thing, but unfortunately it just seems to be the better quality in the renders + better lighting. Now that I’m over the initial euphoria, I want to say I’m disappointed in the lack of tail in Robin hood (unless it’s hidden very well which wouldn’t make sense given the size) Pinoccio’s eyes have no business being so distant from each other. Not a fan of Jiminy Cricket’s eyes but as a hater of over simplified generic faces, I’ll take it. That gets me to Aurora, I hate the regular cmf looking face and chicken eyes. Even I could’ve done a better job. I fear the same for Mulan. All in all a great series either way.
  4. Isn’t Mulan supposed to have medium blue/medium azure arms?
  5. I must confess I was scared to see the remaining 14 figures but holy moly, this is my favorite series so far!
  6. The new pieces are amazing! Cruella’s face doesn’t look right IMO because they failed to capture the style they used for the animated version, as opposed to the previous waves. Her lips look massive, whereas the movie portrays her with much thinner lips, and very high Jaffar eyebrows. The queen’s face (aside from the opacity) is okay but it lacks the depth and stylization the queen’s features have. Btw, it just me or does Mickey seem to have bigger and more separate eyes? I can’t put my finger on it, it looks… bad. I’m kind of scared for the missing figures now… 😅
  7. The UP set is amazing. Maybe a bit cramped but I’ll take it! It feels surreal they even made it. The figures are perfect! The train on the other hand is a bit boring but it’s 4+, I will likely just bricklink the figures. I don’t like what they did to Tinker Bell’s face (They did what some of us hate! That tiresome argument) but at least the original one remains exclusive (new leg print and wings as well)
  8. 1. Minifig quality 2. Design accuracy 3. Display potential 4. Modularity 5. Parts uniqueness 6. Play features They’ve been disappointing with minifig quality for a while (Of course, cmf series are an exception) As long as they keep releasing so many UCS sets, this will keep being the norm I guess?
  9. So, according to our usual source of information, the rumoured “Knight Bus” is actually a Microscale Hogwarts & Grounds. Glad I don’t even have the 2018 one. EDIT: Got tripped over “Microscale”. Thought it was a continuation for the previous one for a moment.
  10. This is magnificent, wow. I have never bought a UCS set before, but this will be my first for sure. It will look so good displayed. Regarding the minifigures, some are great revamps (most of them, I think) while others are very questionable (Not fond of legolas, they did Arwen dirty with that face) EDIT: I’m shocked at the printed slopes so minifigs with skirts can sit!
  11. Tomorrow is the big day! This will be a good year for LEGO
  12. Shocking to see the not-so-welcoming reception of these so far, and it’s not that I don’t agree, but at this day and age one would surely expect the opposite from LEGO, specially from a re-release as important as this one. I personally reeally like them and will (likely) get them all, but I will hop on and say they definitely don’t evoke the same feeling the ones from 2008 did, there’s just not much going on. Perhaps they’ve sacrificed play features and details which aren’t obvious at first sight, for the overall aesthetic; or they upped the piece count (which isn’t bad, clearly) for a more a more put-together, enclosed, accurate look, but sacrificing size and play features. When the minifigures come out in high-res though, I will NOT hold back my judgement. These better not have low effort squished faces.
  13. I didn’t get to see anything 💀
  14. Tinker Bell is the only character I’m currently missing from my disney minifig collection, and I wonder how different her new variant will be (if there will be any). Her variant in the disney castle set was incredibly accurate.
  15. So, promobricks said on their instagram stories that there’s at least another remaining princess right after the cmf lineup story (they didn’t specify where this last one would come in) The CMF wouldn’t make sense as that would sum up to a total of 19 figures🙃
  16. Good point! I’m rooting for a lineup as similar as possible to yours 😂 And they should let CoS and PS rest this year to be honest. I forgot to comment on the leaked Rita by the way, and while I’m happy they finally made her, I really wish LEGO cared more about leg printing and cloth pieces nowadays. I don’t know if it’s a budget thing or a strategy to milk the characters as much as possible in order get the chance to perfect them over the years, and profit from all those versions or what.
  17. Your list sounds dreamy and honestly I would be beyond satisfied. Cedric and Fleur in a Durmstrang ship set seem unlikely though, at least to me. Perhaps it could be marketed with the name “The Durmstrang Ship” and include a very small underwater build that complements the other set, perhaps even with Gabrielle Delacour, but it would seem very random and thrown-together.
  18. Agree 100% The reintroduction of the queen dress piece for the cmf makes it really likely I think.
  19. Is that Susan Bones face new? Seems perfect for Ginny.
  20. That krum is 🤌 The common rooms look good but I really really hate the SNOT techniques in all these book sets, it looks ugly.
  21. I’m going through my 2nd dark age but the return of this theme feels like it’s pulling me out of it. Ah, the power of nostalgia.
  22. That looks so sick! I need it in my life
  23. I wonder if we’ll be seeing Arthur with the cast and purple crown in the advent calendar 🤔 That would be perfect to complement grimmauld place. We could also get a new Ginny, and a recycled Lupin or Sirius. But then there’s the leaked Tonks head too.. I find it odd we already had one angry Hermione face and they went ahead and designed two more of those, one looking almost identical to the first one And Ron didn’t get a single brand new face. Odd indeed.
  24. Wow that’s really interesting. The link of the second picture seems broken, but I looked up that 3D book and it seems that they even created 2002 Hermione’s hair mold and face based on that
  25. The sets themselves are nearly flawless, the attention to detail, the (IMO) improved Hogwarts architecture compared to 2021, the attention to detail! Ahh. Also loving the new character inclusions, new molds and face prints for the trio. The minifigures in general are nothing to write home about, though. This year I started collecting non-HP themes and it made me realize how dull the HP set ones look next to, say, Star Wars or DC. Don’t know if it’s the theme itself (school uniforms/casual clothing) or the lack of leg printing or what. All in all, excellent builds, except for the price.
