I completely agree and hope they go this route.

Someone on Reddit, before the leaked torso, said they spoke to a LEGO store manager who claimed to have seen a list of upcoming sets which included a TOS bridge. I didn't think this happened, but who knows, maybe it does and the leak points towards it? Either way, it's interesting that they have another set in the works this early. I suppose it makes sense to try and maximize the license.

Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
And it would be sensible to give this theme a larger mould budget as each one will be very popular and sought after. But maybe there's a risk that they reach the limit of the parts design department who make fewer moulds for other themes, unless they go on a hiring spree.- 5,838 replies

Licensed Lego Ideas - Support & Discussion

It looks very well done. I don't have room for it, or sufficient interest in the subject matter, but I'd love to try the build one day, which looks excellent. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yes, probably close enough. Although I think steampunk and cyberpunk may have got confused somewhere in the thread. -

You know what? I would not be surprised. Let's make a battlepack that people are crying out for, but put it as a limited release that is ALSO behind a huge paywall. As opposed to $20 and general release, which it should be. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I love that model so much. It looks amazing and the angles make it feel so real. The tower could probably do with being a bit taller and more detailed, but I think it nails the scale and feeling of size, without it having to go deeper than a baseplate, which is very helpful. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Agreed, it looks great, but oh my, if they leave it as a single set, it will be such a shame not to get the classic outfits on the figures! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yes, that's a good call. Or the microscale or village option. Maybe a shame, but at the same time a lot of fun could be had with any of those options. Agreed, that would be great. I liked both stations, but Studgate felt too large while Brick Cross felt too small. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

There is an Icons 18+ Haunted House coming in September (1420 pieces, $110). I wonder if this will be modular compatible, at least in terms of scale. It's double the piece count of 31167, but not much more expensive, suggesting it could be a more detailed build of about the same size. Or maybe larger but with fewer/less expensive figures. Seems odd to have two haunted houses released within a year. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Fascinating. What did you answer? I think a Steampunk set would be cool as there's lots of potential for fun little mechanisms. Sets from real world IPs would likely be a different scale from the standard modulars. Things like Home Alone and The Simpsons are larger than the modulars in terms of their scale, while the Dr Strange Sanctum Santorum and Daily Bugle feel much smaller, and I don't think either look good next to the standard modulars, but do look good in isolation. -

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Am I getting confused? They've done dark/earth blue in Dreamzzz and released on PAB, so dark blue is complete, isn't it? But in general, I agree, that the torso is probably the driver for more pieces to come to complete it, rather than the other way around. Edit: Oh, I didn't see the next page with the same comment. D'Oh! -

Oh, no criticism, just a confirmation that it seems to be a reliable source and that a quote extract is better than a long video. I usually hate just posting a link without some kind of thought/extract from it to provide information, but there was a lot in it, even just referencing the book.- 5,838 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
My recent orders have been to complete builds or MOCs, so it's a fairly standard part list. Not done an order just for interesting parts for a while, although a could sneak in here and there, doesn't feel special enough to show off specifically. -

TMP or TOS versions of the Enterprise would be good. I wonder if they'd do it at the same scale, so that the model would be half the size. The SkyFox2K ones I've been doing are about that size and were really fun to put together. I think they were so fun because they had all the structural techniques and clever use of the parts to create the shapes, but things came together more quickly. At the end of the day, I'm quibbling over small things (by which I mean large, but a small negative). As I look behind me at it, it really does bring a smile!

Over the last year I've been rewatching TNG from the beginning, often while building the midi scale sets from Skyfox2K on Rebrickable, awaiting the official Enterprise D. Well, I managed to time it pretty perfectly, finishing the build with 90 seconds of the final episode remaining. It looks great. A really fabulous model that I never would have thought possible in LEGO at this scale. It's also incredibly solid in a way that's totally unexpected. I'm so pleased they did it and I hope that more come in the future. Having said that, I think the build suffered from it being too large. Building the midi scale MOCs was terrific as lots of clever connections were used to achieve the shapes and you got to experience them very quickly. With this, the shape creation took that much longer that the experience was a little too diluted. The principles were very clever, but having to create such large repeating sections also felt a little slow. It's still very good, but there wasn't the same delight in techniques that you get in a modular, for example. The only thing that really seems odd is the deflector dish and why they don't have the concentric pattern. Fortunately, RDE260 on Rebrickable has a great looking MOC which I've ordered the parts for, so hope to update it (along with a lighting kit) soon. Oh, and the shuttle should have been a standard set, because it's just not right locking that behind such a limited release. Here's hoping to more sets in the future.
