  1. I repeat. Battle Order: Torald Ezeran Kid Hunkan Timothy Petaldan
  2. "No wait, don't go! I...umm...wanted to play a practical joke on Bonaparte. That is all. The statuette is with him. He just doesn't know it yet. It's hidden. Er...that's the truth of the matter really. He has it all!" Cheaky turns around, allowing Kellim and Quintessa to catch him. The two men walk away, disinterested. What will the heroes do?
  3. Siercon is wise.
  4. "I DON'T HAVE THE STATUETTE!!! I'm not going back to Bonaparte either! He's the bad guy and is pitting us against each other." Suddenly Cheaky makes a mad dash away.
  5. I attack Will-o-Wisp A from Front Row Battle Order: Torald Ezeran Petaldan Kid Hunkan Timothy
  6. "Nope. Not before you lot showed up." "We saw many things...little that would interest you though, I imagine."
  7. "I hope they're not what makes this machine run," I mutter, steeling myself for the battle.
  8. "Got it. Bold. Courageous. That rot." The cat leans forward and hisses menacingly, sending Cheaky rolling backwards. "Nothing. Nothing. I have nothing. Please. Really, this is all Bonaparte's fault. I don't have the statue. I swear it. I delivered it to him and he sent me away penniless! Now whatever will I do." Cheaky breaks down in sobs, but keeping an eye on the cat lest it should make a sudden move. "Good grief! What is the issue over here?" "Quite the community, y'all have here. Who are we picking on?"
  9. I equip the Shackles of War and lead the party to the Athanor. "Does anyone want to stay back? No pressure."
  10. Cheaky's eyes dart back and forth, not saying anything. The cat hesitates, but then steps forward. "Grr...grr...Hmm, I don't seem very good at this. He is a pretty big rat after all."
  11. Cheaky gasps at Kellim's mention of his name, but then his face grows indignant. "The statue and the gold?!? What are you accusing me of being? A thief?!? Do you see any statue here? It is with Bonaparte. I bet he sent you after me. Idiot!"
  12. "Ezeran, if you want to equip your hood again, I could take those Shackles of War off your hands for now in case we run into those wisps again. I suggest we go to the Athanor before going to the furnace, but somebody should probably wait here to make sure nothing tries to escape. Perhaps if those wisps are here we can try to lure them out so we can combat them together.
  13. Cheapy spins around and gasps. "Oh, um...heroes. What an odd surprise. Erm...I delivered the statuette to Bonaparte...I thought you were right behind me, but when I turned you weren't there?"
  14. "Come on, Hunkan! Let's climb up. Maybe we'll catch some of those whispy things up there."
  15. Dyric's the nice guy who is so different from everyone else, but nobody can help but like him...except Karie.
  16. I look up disbelievingly. "It's an awfully high climb."
  17. "Yes, that's what I was thinking too. Both the Salt Man and our friend here seem to have been around for quite some time, so I doubt they could be causing the failure. "Are you alright, Ezeran? If you need a break, we can probably take a short rest."
  18. I'm sure you can name it if you want to.
  19. "Hee, hee! I agree. Let's pick up Hunkan and head on our way up."
  20. Kellim changes into his helm before the cat can reply. "Local boys, no doubt. I can't say I know them."
  21. Dashing, you mean? I'm sure.
  22. "Honestly, I have no idea. I didn't think any life was supposed to exist in this machine, but they certainly seem friendly enough. I don't even know how we'll know we've fixed it. Do we want to go back to the Salt Man now, or continue up to the next level?"
  23. "I imagine you might get bored of it if you had it all the time, but we will do what we can to bring him here. Or to get the fragrance here anyway. Hopefully our defeating that beast up there would have helped. Thank you for the song. Hopefully it will provide Mister Salt man with the impetus to come on down here...if he can move. "Now, party, I think we'd best move back up there."
  24. The party continues hurriedly down the street, until they see the bugger they're after hurrying along as well, but not looking particularly afraid or as if he suspects someone is after him. What will the party do?
  25. I clap my hands excitedly. "We just fought off some of those icky wisps up there. One of our friends is monitoring the exit to make sure they don't come back. We could work together! You know, I think you must be talking about our salty friend. He would love to meet you. Can you move? You could accompany us!" The words tumble out of my mouth almost faster than I can think them up.
