The imps do seem convinced that it is not their fault, but I'm sure you're quite as interested in finding the guilty party as they are. Do you think all the imps were behind the attack or do you think it was just one or two acting on their own?"

    "Thank you, sir. So, my fair lady," I say to Ellaria, "where would you like to begin? I will be your shield and bodyguard."

    "One question, good sir. Does the baron know that you have asked us to come and search this place? If not, then it may be a good idea to first see him, if he is a friendly fellow that is. Oh, also, as somebody mentoned before, how can we be completely sure that one of your people did not kill the poor gnome? I don't mean to place undue suspicion on anyone, but I'd hate to search for someone that doesn't exist where we're searching and find out that he is where we aren't searching."

    I de-equip the Good Book and replace it with whichever artifact I originally replaced with it. I then apply my Telescope to my eye, and look the castle up and down for anything noteworthy.

    "Thank you. Why are you all red, if it's not impolite to ask? Is it paint?"

    I reluctantly sheath my sword, but scrutinize Goliath carefully. "I am so sorry, my queen, I can't speak for all of the members of our party, but I shall do my utmost to bring about the success that you desire."

    I gasp as the giant thing bores down on me, but recover my senses and whip out my sword. "I'm not afraid of you," I say in a challenging manner.

    "Hmm...I don't like this thing very much. It doesn't appear too helpful," I whisper to Ezeran. I clap my hands and laugh at Ezeran's song. "I thought it was funny!"

    "Good day, my lady. My name is Sir Petaldan Parfenius. I came to Eubric to join Heroica Hall and help those in need. As to where I'm from...well...no one around seems to recornize it's name, so I'm quite weary of explaining and I almost wonder if I am mispronouncing it, so it's probably better that I don't confuse anyone by saying something that might not be entirely accurate. But I am pleased to help you out with your problem, really, I am."

    I try to use Convert on the King. "Thank you, your most gracious majesty. I do not think I can say that I know your mother, but I do think I must have seen her around the hall. I'm sure she would be delighted to hear from you. In this the hour of your city's plight, I believe we will have to have the full support of God to conquer the demons. As skilled in the art of demon-hunting as we are, there are certain things that must come into play for us to be successful. I do hope you will do your part to help us defeat the devils, by praying to my God for our strength and wisdom in handling this threat." So saying, I once again bow low.

    I am left to wonder how Ezeran and Kid know the pretty lady standing in front of us, but realizing that she must surely work for the guild, I saunter forward, as only a kid can, and take her hand warmly, kissing it. "What a pleasure to meet you, my lady. I don't think I have the pleasure of knowing you as my friends here do, but I will prove myself worthy to be on your party, I am sure. You work for our friends at the Guild of Invision?" "Not that he asked us to." I mutter a bit too quickly. "Sorry, Ezeran!" I blush at my lack of thinking. It's no good to argue about the past when we have a job to do at present. I think sagaciously. "Pleased to meet you, Mr Moke, I say, bowing low. "Don't worry about Ezeran. The mouth on his belly looks mean, but it's never hurt me, and I've never seen it hurt anyone else that I can remember...has it, Ezeran?"

    I added 2 Grand Potions, 2 Remedies, and a Smoke Bomb to my stats. -45 Gold. "Hello, everyone."

    "I'm five. How old are you? Oh, dear, it appears like I've been picked on another quest, and with Ezeran again. Are you on the quest too, sir? I'm sure we would have ever such a wonderful time, and you could tell me all sorts of stories too." "Oh, no, Torald! You won't be joining us? But who will clobber the bad guys when you're gone? Maybe you can sneak along or pretend to be me while hiding me in your bag. Hee, hee! I'm sure another quest will come along soon. There are always many people who need help."

    I nudge Hybros in the ribs or general abdominal area. "Then remain blessed Garret. We will do our utmost to destroy this demonic manifestation and with God's help, we will win." As we approach the king and he poses his question, I respond, bowing low. "Yes, sir. We intend to end this demonic manifestation as the little one said. Many of us have spent much time fighting against such things. As said, there is, almost certainly someone about who opened the portal to the demons. Likely, this man or woman would be our first target. From there, we would have to target the main demonic influences in the area and destroy them. It's hard to know exactly what we'll do until we know exactly what we're up against, though."

    Yeah, there were a lot of times when I wanted to discard Monk Pretzel, but I think staying with a character is really quite rewarding. Besides, if there are things you don't like about the character, you can just make little tweaks. If you're always looking for something else though, then you'll never enjoy the character you're playing. Not sure if this made any sense.

    I attempt to Convert the Guard. "My good sir. Do you not know the judgement is coming and this city must not close it's gates to those who are your only salvation now? We are sent by God to save your city from the evil that seeks to overtake it. I beseech you to do what you know is right and allow us to rid you of the terror therein. At this point, only God can save you, through his servants, against this demonic manifestation."

    I give Timothy a hug, and shake my head sadly as he goes. He would be missed. "I'm sorry good sir, are you in pain? Yes, my parents are quite aware of my being here. You see, I simply couldn't stick around at home any longer. There is too much else to do, you see? And so many people to help."

    I'm not sure if it's just me, but the pictures from the winning entry and the second placed one don't show up? Great contest and great entries. Wish I could have participated.

    I just laugh at the funny man's joke. "Hee, hee! You're funny. Have you been around here for a long time?"

    My internet connection has been having real issues recently. I hope it'll be sorted out, but if I disappear for a few days, then you know the reason...though I don't think I will.
