  1. "Well, I wouldn't say that the best way to start is by the distribution of bones that you probably tore from your victims. "I'm not assuming what you think. In fact I know that you aren't really thinking because you're just being manipulated by an outside source. All your kind are the same and that's why one sees the exact same manner of thinking from one of your kind to the next. Ultimately, every person has a conscience which tells them what is right to do and what is not, although I understand that you don't understand because you clearly don't have one, being manipulated by an outside force. Still, accepting pay from those who would give it is a manner of helping those who we serve as well. The society would be greatly improved if everyone learned to give more and take less. Does that mean I wouldn't serve someone who didn't pay me? Of course not. In fact, I'd be more likely to go on a quest for someone who didn't pay me than for someone that did. Have you ever helped someone just for the sake of it? Well, just because you don't that doesn't mean other heroes don't. I didn't buy this shield in Eubric. In fact, this is the first quest I've done within Eubric. I've always worked under the thinking that the farther one travels, the greater the gift is to the person who called them. The reason people in Eubric don't give things out freely to heroes is because there are such a vast number of heroes, rogues especially who use underhand methods to strip people of their wealth. They are the ones who give Heroica and heroes alike a bad name. People like you. All I can say is that I'm proud of what I've done for the world. I have helped to change those whom I have encountered for the better, can you say you left such a lasting good impression on those whom you left? Clearly not. You speak plainly of ripping off businesses in order to favour the wealthy. Alas! Heroica to what depths you have fallen!" "Stay back this time around, men and Nessa, unless the druid has successfully blinded him." Battle Order: >Pretzel: Repeat >Sylph: Repeat >Dreyrugr: Repeat (Front Row if Dragon Dad Blinded) >Erik: Repeat (Front Row if Dragon Dan Blinded or Stunned) >Nessa: Repeat
  2. No, no. I jest. ...It was Pretzel speaking through me. I'm having a marvelous time.
  3. "Well, I would advise you stay away from it for the most part. Unless it gives you a stat boost "
  4. Yeah, but Dreyrugr gets all the loot.
  5. Go to the devil. I have enjoyed the battles thus far. I wish I could actually get my hands on some of the loot though.
  6. I'm reminded of when Endgame refused to let me take Combrys and refused to let me cut off the Death Progg's tail. Foul play, I cry!
  7. Immune to fire, wind, fragile. Two primary weapons this quest out the window. Can I say that Docken is insanely awesome in Quest #72! Being the greatest scientist currently alive, it's no wonder that King Guts enlisted him on his team. Next thing, Docken will be making Guts a Super Bomb in exchange for Raw Meat. Somehow this statement loses its strength when it's misspelled. It's nice seeing Romulus fighting against the Wolfgang.
  8. "That's a good attitude to have, but sometimes you've got to trust those with better people handling skills than you. They know better than you more often than not. Some of us can see into the heart and discern the intentions of enemies. It's best to follow our advice. These two can only spell trouble. They are insane with a greedy thirst for power." "If the world would just strike down the likes of you and not listen to your fiendish arguments before doing so, there would be no need to strike down others before speaking and attempting to resolve issues diplomatically." "Maybe to you the word 'hero' is just some glorified title. Some of us are actually trying to do good. Do we collect loot and pay? Of course, because without those we cannot be as much a force for good as we otherwise would be. If it weren't for my shield protecting us, these battles would be a lot harder to fight. I don't know what other heroes do with their time, and I know the hall is not what it used to be with the likes of you and other supposed 'heroes' strolling about and giving Heroica and heroes a bad name, but looking back at my quests since rejoining Heroica, I am proud of what I've done. I've slain a demon tyrannizing a village, I've protected a woman from horrible beasts in her vaults and restored her family treasures to her, I healed a dragon from a toxic malady, now I am determined to solve this murder case. I have done what I could when it was necessary to do. Granted I may not be the most pleased with helping the alchemist create his staff, but it worked out for good, as I was able to teach him valuable lessons at the end. I don't know what other heroes do in their time as heroes and I've quested with a variety of sorts, some more dedicated and sincere than others, but don't think that because you have no values and morals and that being a hero means nothing to you that it's the same for others." "Basically demonic-possession. It happens disturbingly frequently to those weak of mind." "Oh please, you quested with Drake and that demon? I pity you, Erik. You must have had a hard time in Heroica. Is Drake as crazy in battle as he is in the hall?" "Right! Sorry Nessa, but you did the same thing about that ship...what was it called again?" "It wasn't the booze, Erik! Heck, you haven't even had a drop to drink, thank God!" Cool. So Erik basically has a 1/6 chance of rendering an enemy absolutely useless on hits. Freakin' awesome.
  9. Life is wonderful, ain't it? Docken shows Heroica the benefits of eating healthy. Thanks, CMP. These enemies are built to be my bane, aren't they? Well, Pretzel could use a rest. Maybe I should stuff my healthy pretzel into Erik's mouth.
  10. "Hmm, it's like these enemies have been built to be immune to my attacks." "Well, being the situation as it is, I think my most valuable asset at present would be to lend the use of my shield in blocking off the attacks of the orc while we all focus on the drunkard. I think my sealing him, in that case, would be more useful than my attacking him. Demon, if you had thought to give me that hat before heading down here, I could tank his attacks perfectly." Battle Order: >Pretzel: Seal Dragon Dan >Sylph: Seal Dragon Dan or Blind if Already Sealed >Erik: Dragon Dan (Titanic Axe) From Front Row if Dan is Blinded Dreyrugr: Dragon Dan (Crow-Claw Dagger) Nessa: Dragon Dan (Silver Crossbow) When a targeted enemy is petrified, can they fight back? Petrified lasts until the end of the battle, right?
  11. "Besides, it's always a good idea to kill of those who can only be a hindrance to the workings of God on this planet. There are already far too few doing what's right that we cannot allow ourselves to be hindered by those who would seek to ensnare us. Let us go and rout them out now, before they attempt to lay a trap for us. Do we need somebody to stay back and watch this passage though?" "Oh, and for the duration of the quest, let me hand each of you a Smoke Bomb since none of you seem to have prepared well enough to bring a few along." I hand one smoke bomb to each party member, assuming that Sylph used his.
  12. "Good to hear. If only the world could be rid of such pestilences." I turn away. No matter how much it may not have been his fault, it didn't feel good to hear how Daxus' body had been used as a tool of a netherworldly being.
  13. I stagger slightly. "This 'Regret' was a Necromancer, then, of sorts?"
  14. I don't mean to nitpick, but shouldn't that be 198 gold?
  15. "Don't try to fool me. I can smell the scent of mushrooms from a mile away. What did you discover, creature of the netherworld?" My hand slips onto the steak in my cart, should the demon before me spring an ambush. "Daxus? An undead monstrosity? You must be thoroughly mistake. Daxus was no monstrosity. Erik was there on our party, he will tell you. We slew the Death Progg. Are you proposing that he lived? Clearly the one you fought was merely a follower. How long ago was it that you fought these beasts, were there many of them? I heard the new Black Knight, poor kid, talking about fighting proggs, but that's about as far as it went. I'm glad I finally rid myself of that pest that made his home in my cart for such a long while. He was all fascinated by explosives, and was really excited about tagging along with me to go on my quest for a alchemist working with the Guild of Invision, but he couldn't keep up with me. Good riddance, I say. Nasty beings those proggs!" "Long gone fights? I take offense. The druid is discrediting one of the heroes who gave his life for the cause that Heroica lives for. An refers to him in equal terms to that of an abomination. One must at least respect the dead and let them rest where they can and not tarnish their reputation with destructive lies." "What you mean by 'our swords being long enough'? I have no idea to what you are referring. I own no sword since I took up the clerical mantle. I am not showing off anything either."
  16. Private Regulus, get your hat back on immediately.
  17. I dug with my Magic Shovel. "Impossible! I slew the Death Progg myself. Pierced it through his visor, between the eyes and through his very brain. I know how to kill a beast when I see it. Maybe the one you killed was a lesser one trying to follow in the footsteps of his master and called himself by the same name. Besides, you cannot have fought Daxus. Mizuki burned his body and we buried the ashes. The man you fought must have been an impostor." My face burns red, but the darkness of the sewer prevents it from being clearly discernible. Still, my voice can hardly be described as calm. "In any case, I prefer if Erik and Nessa don't follow the vampire, lest it be a trap. Although let's pray to God that he doesn't go down there and collect some felons of his to ambush us."
  18. Bones are more useful than Skeleton Decoys.
  19. Ah, thanks! Perhaps I'll just go with red or dark red, though.
  20. "Bah! These tunnels remind me of the vault where we tore those proggs to shreds," I grumble. "Erik, remember that hall where Daxus got separated from the rest of us? Odd business that was. I am glad we slew the Death Progg."
  21. I think the Mechanical Decoy will need to have more health than that.
  22. These pics are really great. I love the one of Skrall and Grimwald arguing and Guts being chased down the stairs. King Guts will have to learn to take care of Orcish barmaids before he thinks of running Eubric.
  23. Am I the only one spooked by Arthur's new look?
  24. "Hmmm, good point. Perhaps someone should stay behind to keep an eye on things here though." I don't particularly have a preference. I find those compasses a little hard to trust, especially when they spin 'round and 'round like that to begin with." I dig with my Magic Shovel. Sorry for my absence.
  25. I like Pretzel's new upgraded cart, but I don't think he'd wear a hat like that.
