    Responding to Luke, I say. "We must always respect our foes, especially once they are dead. It is not good for us to speak ill of the dead. Once upon a time, he may have been just like us...That is what my mother would always say. I don't think we need to have a great ceremony, but a simple burial..." I shrug my shoulders.

    Now I won't get my chance to fully explore Petaldan as a damage dealing class with the Slimy Sword. I had big plans for making that sword completely broken.

    If we're stupid and get some bad rolls, he could still destroy us all in just about one round...almost.

    I hold back for a moment. Looking for a weak spot in the elder Den's position, but not seeing any immediately. With all the others assailing him, attacking him now seems like a poor choice, especially with my pitiful strike of the last round.

    "I don't know whether it is a secret or not." I respond coolly. "But if it is, I don't see it as my business to tell. By the way they were dressed, it did seem like they were trying to shade their appearance." "I guess you met during a quest? May I ask a little more details regarding the quest and what happened?

    "Quite so." I wonder if I should say more, but considering that it's a demon I'm talking to, I figure that less is more.

    "Yes. How many years since they have last stepped into these halls, I wonder? And somebody here says they met the Fey One?"

    Oh, boy, there are so many loose ends that I wish could be tied up in Heroica. I would like to see Sandy's notes, if he has any.

    I whistle to myself as the pair leave. "Unless I am mistaken, Heroica is in for a shakeup." I flung open the door (which miraculously stays hinged), and breathe deeply of the air, glad that I didn't follow the inner voice that told me to go and pay my respects to a dying dead man.

    Finally I can see the pictures. Seems like my internet connection takes exception to your picture hosting site. I scrutinize the pair more closely, and as if my eyes are suddenly opened. "Good grief! Are you...? Is it possible...?" I stagger back in wonder. "As if from the dead!"

    Overhearing the pair speaking with Hoke, I call over from another table. "I have not seen any of the veterans around the hall for some time. Perhaps if you would go to the Training Room you may find the Copper Fox. I have never failed to meet him there. As far as becoming veterans yourself is concerned, I think you would need to have successfully participate in many quests and shown yourself loyal to Heroica."

    "My word! With all the trouble going on. It's amazing that no one has called on us yet. The oracle gone missing? Jun Ji Pei, King of Eubric, arrested? That is astonishing!"

    And Heroica is coming to an end, leaving the dark forces to take over.

    Seeing blood and guts spilling out all over the joint, my face distorts and my insides are moved in disgust, the contents there of leaping from my mouth against my will. Suddenly being very aware of the presence of my fellow heroes, I feel embarrassed and try to cover my position with my shield and a sentinel stance. I also realize that I don't really want to kill these people, no matter how "evil" they are. Gingerly, I repeat my attack from the Front Row.

    Seeing the note from Sorrow, I feel strangely compelled to go and see the dead man into his repose, but...I push back the urge. It would be much too awkward.
