Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return
Palathadric replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Excuse me, but I wanted to train to be a magic user like my friend Ezeran, but if you take the Copper Fox away, who will train me?" I ask the guard innocently. Seeing the battle preparations, I pick up my shield. "I don't want to fight you, but I don't want you attacking my friends, so I will use my shield to defend them!" Petaldan moves to the back row and exchanges his Helmet for the Paladin's Armour. Pretzel looks on unimpressed. Great! Now we're already cast in the light of the bad guys, before we've even set out. "What a bad way for us to start off our quest for good! It seems to me that the best way we can defend the veterans would be to prove that they started an organization that is not just fighting for itself and its own members, but that is willing to correct its faults and flaws." I turn to Captain Fervent. "Captain, I believe I know you. Would you mind telling us what proof you of of their involvement with the Wolfgang? I replace the Soul Link Chain with the Cloak of the Grand Vizier from the Back Row -
Yes. They've been completely inseparable.

Fascinating, CMP! Thanks for hosting us, KotZ. I'm glad I could bring along Petaldan for a Tridentia quest. I did like the party interaction, though there could have been more of it.

"Let's go look for the Oracle then, but what are we going to do when the curfew starts?" Petaldan questions innocently. "I'm not sure if getting the Wolfgang involved will be too helpful. What are we actually expecting them to do, except provide some muscle? I think it would be better to keep our numbers small, but...I'm willing to go with whichever team needs me." -

"Well, as you yourself said, with Heroica tearing itself apart, its founders came by today and shut the place down and, in a sense, banished everyone. Can't say that they did wrong in doing so, though in truth, I was beginning to feel a kind of kindred spirit with the people there for the first time since coming back. Perhaps the heroes had been too busy running around and minding other people's business to stop for a moment and think about what we're actually fighting for." "I was thinking the same thing. That is very worrying." I down the Mead, courtesy of Atramor -
Now I'm wondering if we can get Skrall in the quest, WBD? Not sure if that would be too much of a load on you, though. But I'm sure nobody would mind having the QM's PC playing, considering it's the last quest. And if Skrall has appeared already, I apologize. Most of the pictures still don't load.

"As bad as Heroica may have gotten Eubric still owes us more than they could ever imagine. Ungrateful lot they are!" -

"The Golden Dragon was buried here in Eubric? And people have visited the tomb?" I gasp incredulously. "They certainly look as similar as can be expected." I blush. "Oh...really, I didn't even fight him at the end. It was Ezeran and the others who took him down." "Torald says he's not allowed at the hall anymore...or something." "Well, Nord! It's good to see you, I guess I should say. Where have you been? Stayed with Heroica too long that you felt you were leaving behind your Nordic corruption too much and had to leave so that you could regain it?" -

I love at the demon's comment. "You think you could kick her megablocks?!? I should like to see that fight." -
Absolutely fitting. So delighted to see some old timers back again.

"Oh, my! We let this city go to the point of civil war? I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the Triffid. I thought giving it back to the Guild would help everyone to be happier. That's why I didn't want to harm those naughty wizards we found in the Guild's equipment. I hope I made the right decision." "Ezeran? He was right behind me...I thought...I don't know where he could have gone. I was certain he saw you too, but maybe not. I hope he doesn't get lost or something in all the confusion. You should have seen him in our last quest. We had to fight against all of these bad people. I was so afraid and didn't want to hurt them, but Ezeran just used his magic to blast them." -

As Kiray flashes me her badge, I look away, feeling more ashamed than ever of my actions in joining the Wolf king. "Good day, Rone! I suppose you have seen what has gone on at the hall? Bloody good news in my mind. Finally, the hall will be cleaned up and from the looks of it, probably the city too. We have had enough of all these petty squabbles, methinks." -
Is it just me, or does the wiki not work? Tried yesterday and today, but it doesn't seem to load. Is the Wolfking's lair included?

"Oh, my! I don't think I've ever just bumped into friendly faces on the roads of Eubric before and today I just bump into Torald first and now you. How do you do?" I question politely, remembering my manners. Unsure whether I want to follow Torald and Skuld (forgive me, I'm pretty sure this was the spelling) into the questionable bar, I nevertheless feel the conversation forcing me to do so. I gingerly follow Torald, handing my equipment to the ogre obediently. "The veterans kicked you out? But you haven't done anything wrong, have you? I mean, you always drank a lot, but...maybe I should go back and apologize for you and they will accept you again?" Monk Pretzel arrives at the scene and looks on disdainfully. What I would give to be back in the Hall with the veterans instead of among this crowd! I turn and look for the most respectable-looking human/elf who may be passing by the bar. -
It's a shame they're less useful than regular bones.

Whoa, Flipz! You are amazing. I wish I could have seen this happen or played a part in making it happen. I totally understand why you burned out though.

"A bar? Is there a fight that needs to be broken up? Torald, I hope you haven't finished all the drinks at the hall that you have to come here." -

Spying Torald on the road, Petaldan approaches him. "Hi, Torald! Where are you off to? Out on a quest? Perhaps I can join you...though I'm not sure it's quite according to the rules..." -
Spying Torald at the door, Petaldan inquires as to what is going on.
-
Who knows, Monk Pretzel could slip Sorrow a miraculous healing potion that revitalizes him for the duration of one quest. We will carry you on, even if we need a stretcher for it... *Magical Stretcher appears at Gnomeo's Shed* I suppose we're allowed to still go to the marketplace before meeting up at Lady Luck's Locale? My bloody internet connection seems to hate flickr.

And a happy new year to you all. May we do honour in the final quest to this game that has been an enjoyable part of our lives for so long.

Heroica RPG - Quest #158: Color Me Shocked
Palathadric replied to KotZ's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I hope you may remain in peace for many years to come." I say in parting. Catching up to Matthias, I hand him the Smelling Salts that Vindsval gave me, knowing that I could not use it myself. -
"And he fooled us into saying that he was merely posing." I shake my head in dismay at my own naivete. "I must warn you that there is another, the 'feathered serpent' I believe they call him. Who has also claimed to be veteran of heroica. I know that he too is in collusion with the Wolfgang. I have not seen him around the hall recently, though. He is an orc."
