  1. If anyone’s curious, I asked Ryan (MandR) his thoughts on DA. I think he had the same reaction as we did initially, ie a bit underwhelmed at first. He acknowledges it’s probably by the dreary Box Art though, which is what I think we have all concluded as well. just another reason to announce your set before it gets leaked, Lego!! I have no doubt we will love the set in the end, but the leak definitely did not do it favors.
  2. Just finished the Hedwig build - such an amazing set! Really ingenious how some of these things are made.
  3. Yea, watching the scenes from PS and CoS again, Marcos (or whoever designed this set) absolutely nailed accuracy. The only thing that doesn’t make sense in the film’s interpretation of DA is WWW. From the first two movies they would have to destroy the brick wall/Leaky Cauldron to get WWW in that location. It really does mean that we could get an expansion that includes the other side of the street! I know that’s less likely than Gringotts and Knockturn, but maybe if we show support of these sets they will feel obliged to continue just like they do with the Modular Buildings. I bet this set will be a massive success, even more than the castle! Modular fans will buy it even if they aren’t into Harry Potter.
  4. Wowww haha someone did their research! Crazy how accurate it is, especially that Ice Cream design. Question though, why would they go this far into being accurate but change the QQS sign? The one on the set just says “Quidditch”
  5. How many years are between CMF series? Do you think CMF Series 3 will exist? I think they are the best way to fill out the wizards in a crowded Diagon Alley
  6. So bets that we will get a teaser Monday with reveal on Tuesday? Can’t believe how many times I have said this lol
  7. Well, just got my bookshelf set up, DA is going to look beautiful on it! Only problem is that if I put my other two sets (Tree House and Trafalgar Square) each on a shelf, I can’t wrap their wires in the back to light them up. There won’t be enough room to put them on top with DA so don’t know what I’m going to do there. Oh well. Building Hedwig and Hogwarts Express tonight :)
  8. Man this set from the box makes it seem way smaller than it is. Every time I measure 103cm I’m like blown away how the set that was leaked is that long. AND 5500 pieces? Literally double than the NES
  9. I wish we had more wizards that looked like The Daily Prophet Photographer. I love the class witch look that was used more in PS/CoS. Also, we are totally going to get to page 600 before Monday!
  10. Nice! I've been to about 6 different Targets in LA with no luck. I'm not in that big of a hurry though so I'm just going to wait it out.
  11. Ugh so lucky! Where did you find them?
  12. I think you need to get their early, before they're technically open. I don't think you'll be able to call and reserve one for a set as big as this, as there will be plenty of people there in person ready to buy, and if you were allowed to just call they would get tons of reservations.
  13. I'm assuming for big sets like this that they give you a number when you arrive to guarantee a set. I just don't know how they're going to do it at my local Lego store as the interior of the mall is closed I found this Diagon Alley MOC, and it's pretty damn good all these considered! Makes me realize how important it is to have a tall Gringotts somewhat overlooking the rest of the street. Also why couldn't lego gives us 46 minifigures with this set, I mean come on don't be cheap
  14. Jesus, a two hour wait just to go into a Lego Store? How could you justify that wait time unless you were picking up something like Diagon Alley haha
  15. I'm a bit sad that my Lego store is still only curbside pickup only. Would like to purchase the set in store if possible. Maybe I need to make a trip to Disneyland
  16. I really don’t like Brickheadz so I hope that isn’t the GWP for September. I have limited space for Legos and would rather use it for the more official sets. im also totally stumped on that Harry minifigure. It’s such a great mold and is so cleary meant for a Diagon Alley scene. What else could it be? Where in IG can I find it? edit: just kidding found it. LMAO at how blurry it is, no way this is legit. It reminds me of the earlier HP waves
  17. Tell me about it. Being born in ‘94, my last set as a kid was Vladek’s Dark Fortress in 2005. I just got back into Lego during Covid and it’s quite a nostalgia trip though I never got the big expensive sets back in the day, so it’s nice being of age to purchase my own things.
  18. What an awesome mom and an amazing Christmas gift :) As far as I know, all D2C’s are exclusive to Lego Stores and Lego.com. So I guess to answer your question, yes it’ll have to be direct. Has there been evidence of D2C’s showing up in other stores during their shelf life?
  19. My god the updated Ratatouille set is absolutely unbelievable. Lego PLEASE make this one a reality. The build is treehouse-level quality
  20. Yea I’m honestly shocked that we have such strong opinions on some of these mini figures, I can’t see shit! Lol
  21. You convinced me @sebastian666, I just went to Target and got the book shelf! I got it in Walnut brown though. Will display DA on top and blend the bottom shelves with various books/sets.
  22. A few months ago, a leak of a Harry minifigure in his clothes when he first goes to Diagon Alley in PS show up on Instagram. Naturally, we all thought it was going to be his mold for the Diagon Alley set, but now that we know that it is not included, and the fact that someone found data of an HP 4 set on Lego.com for $30 (Diagon Alley is HP 3), we are assuming that it is a GWP similar to the micro scale Diagon Alley that came in 2018. Someone can chime in if I am not understanding the logic properly
  23. I love this - probably my favorite arrangement of the yearly sets! I would definitely consider this bookshelf, though I’m just leasing a house right now and am trying to keep my furniture to a minimum. Will definitely consider though! Given the leaked Harry first year Diagon Alley minifigure, IF it is a GWP (not confirmed), for $30 I think the most likely set is, like many have mentioned, the brick wall part of The Leaky Cauldron
  24. Anyone else still figuring out how they’re going to display this set? I’m thinking of getting a nice 49’ desk for my bedroom, which can fit this set. Once we add Gringotts though it’s all up in the air. So long!
  25. So are we thinking Monday teaser Tuesday reveal? Seems to be the move since Tuesday is exactly one week before September 1st.
