New Lego stores opening in 2013
RunnersDad replied to rubberninja's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Lego Store in St. Louis had it's soft opening on Friday. A couple friends and I went on Saturday to check it out after getting word that they had opened unannounced. The staff is really nice and most that I talked to seem to have a high Lego IQ. I have only been to 4 other Lego stores for comparison but am really pleased with the Staff and the selection on the PAB wall at our new location. -

Congratulations to all those that won as well as those that entered. There were some exceptional entries into the contest. I was blown away by the overall quality. -
I love oddities, thanks for sharing.

Another amazing build for this contest. I really enjoy the combination of detail and simplicity. Good work!

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
RunnersDad replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You have done an incredible job with this project thus far. I am blown away by the overall size and complexity of the buildings and landscape. Keep it up! -
Can you share of a picture of the error brick? I would love to see it.

I really like your piece use in this build. The beauty of Lego is that you can be unorthodox and still get a great result. I like the tree, however as somebody else stated I don't think that it fits in well with the winter village. Looks a bit too foreign.

You did a great job on this build. I like your decision to not add a second floor from a detail standpoint. The fridge and shelves are well done.

Excellent job on the train station!

The question is as stated, how many Clear 1x2x2 Window panels can you fit in 1 large PAB cup. It doesn't have to be specific, just a ballpark figure. Thanks!

I like it. Very creative rebuild!

I like the idea of building a school's mascot out of lego. It obviously wouldn't have to be specific to Purdue as Lego could subsequently manufacture sets for any school that wanted to participate. I would buy a set or 2 from my favorite college teams.

Beautiful building, you did a fantastic job!

LEGO Store opening in St. Louis, MO (May 2013)
RunnersDad replied to RunnersDad's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There was one remaining space available at West County Mall and they grabbed it. I would assume they would have gone out to Chesterfield if necessary but this is a much better spot and is centrally located! I was jealous of KC when theirs opened up earlier this year but am pleased that Lego decided to open up another Missouri location so quickly. -
Talk about exciting...I'll have access to the PAB wall in 15 minutes instead of 4-5 hours. My wallet is going to take a hit but I'm stoked!

Cool idea

That is an awesome design. I really like the color scheme as well. Do you intend to brick build it?

Did you leave room around the Mosaic to make a frame from Lego? I find that to be quite attractive. As far as mounting is concerned You can remove the lego in several spots and drill holes that allow you to attach the base plates to a piece of plywood. This will provide a very sturdy base for your mosaics while keeping hidden the screws, etc, that are holding it all together.

That is spectacular! Pink Floyd is a band that I would have loved to have seen in person right up there with the Beatles. What other Album covers did you create?

Great job with the Haunted House! Looks great raised up on the hill like that!
-
Very cool and creative build! I like it!

Great design and details. I think this would look quite good when built.

MOC: Olympics London 2012 - 100m race final
RunnersDad replied to Teazza's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Being a Runner and a Track coach myself I have to say I love this MOC. I have thought about doing some similiar MOC's but haven't gotten around to it. I really like how you have structured this. -
This is one of the most spectacular MOC's I have ever seen. I only wish I had the time, money, patience, and of course talent to build something of this magnitude. Kudos to both of you on an amazing creation!
