  1. Aahhh yes, let me start thinking about some prizes. Now is probably the right time
  2. There is nothing wrong with your post.
  3. Not sure, because we need to do some checking and verifications.
  4. Hehe. And you make a fair point. I will be away for a week on Tuesday so maybe I will close the voting tomorrow. I will discuss this with Milan. if you still want to vote, make sure to do that today.
  5. Thanks Tom. That is an interesting setup. Is that per year?
  6. That sounds like a good solution. But is it better than 1 point? The main problem with contestant voting is that they will put the other best entries at the bottom of the list. It won't be fair either way.
  7. Maybe it should indeed be mandatory. Although that will probably result in some strange votes. So I’m not sure whether it will help.
  8. 36 votes. So far, a one week voting period seems sufficient.
  9. Exactly. DiceTower also does an annual fundraiser (Kickstarter in their case). I will take a look at BGG. I am in favor of an annual fundraiser with clear and transparent goals. Thanks
  10. It’s not a huge amount. Somewhere around 2000 in total. If we keep the ads in the footer and the sidebar (like we have had for years), we need less. If we can raise around 1000 per year that would be enough. The donation button is a great idee no matter what. But we do need a steady income, so we do need to think about multiple/different options. If 1000 members pay one euro, we are cool for one year. The donation button with goal is interesting. Kinda like Wilipedia.
  11. Yup, that's how we feel about them as well. That is something we absolutely want to avoid, so no worries. We simply need to raise some monthly income to keep this site free from obtrusive ads.
  12. Awesome! That’s great to hear. We are looking into the options.
  13. Sounds like a great idea. We have to check how to remove/hide ads for paying members, but that would definitely be a proper solution.
  14. Nope, we don't. Thanks for all the responses. We are aware that the Ads are annoying, but we need to pay the bills. We are very open to suggestions. We don't have experience with Patreon so I am not sure how that works. We basically have two options: Do something like an ongoing Patreon for people to support us A yearly fundraiser (like Kickstarter) to pay for the next years hosting costs. Any thoughts on what would be the best option? Currently, we do have some reserves, but without the annoying Ads we will run out in a couple of years. We are very happy to hear that our members are willing to pay a small amount to keep Eurobricks running.
  15. Do bear in mind that there is only 1 point between #1 and #2 when it comes to voting. It's not 10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 anymore. It's 15, 14, 13.....etc
  16. The first week resulted in 34 participants (in voting). That is a great number. Wonder how many we will have next week. Current Top 5 9 (in points) 384 points 371 points 343 points 325 points 319 points
  17. Not an answer to your question but you are provably better off by starting to group parts in categories. For example gears, pins, axles, liftarms etc.
  18. Yup, we can't be ignored Send me a PM so I can check why you can't ignore that certain member.
  19. We can do two weeks, no problem. We will monitor voting behavior for next contest.
  20. Well, you could basically build whatever you wanted. As long as you made it in the “arctic color scheme”
  21. If the majority is in favor of one week, we can alter the closing date. We are kinda limited by strawpoll. We might make something ourselves in the future. That would allow us to streamline the process. For now, I am very happy with the pic @Milan created Thanks! We love to hear that
