  1. Cool In the end it might boil down to Milan, Blakbird and myself simply synchronizing our votes and adding them to the total. In any case, we will provide openness about this before the voting starts and we will definitely show our votings upon completing the contest.
  2. It's already long Of course, we will be open about it. We are just trying to avoid that a "very cool looking sporscar with opening doors" will win, since that's not in the spirit of the contest. And most members (who actively follow the contest) will vote accordingly, but there might be a group of members who simple cast a vote for something that looks "astonishing".
  3. Care to elaborate on this point? I really love Doug's entry and it's 100% in the spirit of the contest, since it definitely is a wacky vehicle. How is the contest description different?
  4. We have also thought about this and I think we are on the same page We will definitely not dominate the voting.
  5. Here's the verdict. We (@Milan, @Blakbird and myself) have acknowledged that at first thought it might seem unfair to change the voting mechanism during. However, we are not changing the voting criteria. Changing the voting criteria would have basically be the same as changing the contest. Since we are judging by the same criteria, there's absolutely no reason to think it's unfair. The voting criteria are: Originality & Wackiness. Looks (shape, color scheme etc). Quality of the build. Functionality. Every contest leaves room for interpretation, but the basic idea should be clear. That's the case in this contest too....build a Wacky Vehicle. It's up to you to fill in the details. There is still room for interpretation, but the voting criteria are clear. We are not underestimating the members who are frequently visiting the Technic forum. We are underestimating the members who only come to the forum to vote. The spirit of the contest should be perfectly clear. Build a Wacky Vehicle and wacky means: "funny or amusing in a slightly odd or peculiar way." We have thought about this and we might try this in a future contest. We already stated that the Top-3 will win prizes, so it seems unfair to change that at this point.
  6. Sorry, I'm still thinking about my sunny holiday with hardly any internet I will get back to you tomorrow, when I have consulted some wise men.
  7. That is what was bothering myself and @Milan. Holiday was very nice. Mostly sunny, with hardly any internet Minus the "almost" part
  8. Hi, Back from my holiday, which means back online again. This is a message to inform you that voting will be a little bit different for this (and maybe future) contest. Voting will consist of a public part (members) and a jury part (undisclosed group of selected professionals ). More information will be disclosed in due time. The purpose of this voting scheme is to give people who build in the spirit of the contest a better chance to win (instead of high scores for things that simply look cool). Another benefit is that people are not able to calculate the winner beforehand.
  9. Here's my queue: Vacation (now), finish MF review (lot of work), finish Boost review, Process interviews. Maybe I will switch the last two. Really sorry things get in the way.
  10. Yes, yes...YES!! This is what I'm talkin about!
  11. Strange indeed. Could be a mistake. Or it's the first set of 2019 ;)
  12. I'm on holiday so I haven't followed the topic. Excuse me for possibly double posting this info (from a Dutch site):
  13. The greebling is indeed very different on the new and old one. Makes you wonder which one is more accurate. I'd bet on the new one Hehe I thought you overlooked that fact I should have put the new one on the top of course. Not sure why I didn't do that. Edit: I switched them
  14. Not sure what you mean, but it's the 10179 vs 75192. I built both using official instructions. The 10179 is Bricklinked, but the greebling should be okay (Except for black instead of grey levers). I haven't had time to do a movie comparison. I plan to do that for the final review.
  15. Yup definitely. The interior (even though they are small) really add value to the build. And the use of different colors (without actual color vomit) is also an improvement.
  16. Mine is 90% done, but I'm leaving for holiday tomorrow. So unfortunately, it will be published in three weeks. I can give you this though. NEW 75192 OLD 10179
  17. Hi, Welcome to EB! When you quote, please remove the images from the quote. You can find the posting etiquette in the site guidelines. Have fun!
  18. What @Robianco said. Well explained
  19. That is indeed allowed. But please be aware that it's sometimes better to post one or two bigger main images than 12 smaller ones (3x4). I'd recommend using at least one main big image.
  20. @wwwmwww this is exactly why posts like yours don't belong here on EB. Nuff said, lesson learned. Back on topic.
  21. That is not something you want to openly communicate on a forum with LEGO fans. Doing this is one thing, but advertising it here on EB is not wise.
  22. Dude, you made my day. Your wacky function is awesome! Nice work. Glad you joined the contest. I do agree that the function seems a bit useless with the double wheels. Might want to reconsider.
