TECHNIC PULLBACK CONTEST It has been suggested quite a few time, so here it is. The Technic Pullback Contest. A simple and short contest to keep you busy during the holidays. DESCRIPTION Build a Technic model with one or more pullback motors. You can't use Pneumatics, PF or other electronics, just the pullback motors. DEADLINE Deadline date is Monday 29th of January, 2018. Contest will be closed on Tuesday 30th of January, OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the deadline date. Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following section describes the contest specific and general rules and regulations. But before that, please take notice of a simple motto regarding the Eurobricks Contests: CONTESTS ARE FOR FUN! Of course there's competition, but at the end of the day, LEGO is just a hobby and the main goal for each of us is to have fun! CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Each entry needs to have a NAME (no name, no entry). Only OFFICIAL LEGO PARTS. 3rd party STRINGS, HOSES and RUBBER BANDS are permitted. NO 3rd party tires. There is NO size limit. Model Team style building IS allowed. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Members who joined EB after the start of the contest can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected). Voting rules will be explained later in the voting topic. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously or shown at an event/LUG meeting). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me, or Milan. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Custom stickers are allowed. No cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. The contest might be closed later than the deadline. A discussion topic needs to show some actual progress (i.e. pictures of the build in progress) and should NOT be used to "reserve an idea". VOTING Voting scheme will be 50-50, so member votes count for 50% and jury votes count for 50%. Voting criteria are (in no particular order): Originality. Looks (shape, color scheme etc). We have two (possibly three) ideas for contests next year. So, unless the idea is really really really good, it won't make a chance till 2019

Okay guys. The new mini-contest is about to start. We will try to make an official topic tomorrow. Build something with one or more pullback motors. No PF/EV or other electronics. No third party parts. NO QUESTIONS HERE! (there will be a topic soon) Actually there shouldn't be any questions, other than the deadline date. This will probably be January 16th. GO!!!!

Noted. We are thinking small now. Ending last week of January, or even mid January. But there will be time lost eating and eating and eating during the Holidays. So end of Jan is probably more realistic.

True In the past, most of you have stated that you prefer having a contest, even if there are no prizes. This is all the motivation we need to run a new contest. And indeed...tags, HoF, frontpage, etc.

They will get their prizes. There's no doubt about that. I just need to fill out a new request in 2018, so it will take a while. But they WILL get them

This has to be Star Wars, although I really love modulars (Creator Expert). Interesting...old Technic is great fun and I understand people saying 1977, but I'd have to go with 2016...Claas, Porsche, BWE, Heavy Lift Chopper. Ohhh and the Drag Racer LoL.

Okay guys, I would love to start a new contest so you can do some building during the holidays. However, we do have a problem....prizes. Due to some rightsizing warehouse blabla, TLG has cancelled our request for prizes for the last contest. I will make sure the winners get their prizes, but it will probably be booked on our 2018 "budget". Long story short, it will be harder for me to get Technic prizes. I know that having a contest is more important than prizes, but I still feel sorry about it. I have always tried to arrange some prizes. Maybe I can do my best to have a single prize per contest, only for the winner (or maybe a raffle to give every contestant a change). So my question is; do you prefer a big/complicated or easy contest to start by the end of this week?

Used to be much yellow is the right phrase here 2017 and 2018 almost no yellow. Even 2016 has little yellow. 2015 either. Yellow dates back to 2014

A lot when writing reviews. Other than that....not so much. I always like a white christmas, but we hardly get any. We had snow last week. That's as good as it gets. Probably not, but there's always a chance. Little time for LEGO during Christmas. Maybe I will open a set and do some casual building. Won't be Technic though. Saturn V maybe. Probably Dark Bluish Grey, but I just love grey in general. Oh and Dark Azure nowadays hehe (just kidding). MayI add color scheme instead of just color? I love Orange, White and DBG
