Hahaha! You tell funny Joke! :-D

I'm honestly not sure whether to be happy or to cry. On the one hand, everything is going to be so detailed. On the other hand my Diagon Alley still isn't going to be complete! :-/
-
I am always one that's willing to admit when I am wrong, and I do agree, the faces aren't as bad as I originally thought. I do in all honestly actually do still prefer the old face personally, but the new ones are decent enough (and will cost roughly the same for the whole new figure as it would just the old head) that I will probably get two extras to fix up my quidditch Weasley's so my old figures can have their heads back! :-D I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I think it might be the beanies sitting a bit low for my liking that's making them look a bit childish. Or maybe too straight across the face? I don't know. But there's something that I still find a bit off. But hey... that's just me! :-)

They are in the Advent Calendar.

Does anyone know if on average whether minfigures are worth a certain amount of regular parts? So if you add one extra minifigure to the line up then the set size may drop by an approximate amount of pieces? I'd say Lucius is going Grey! Hahaha! :-D

Interestingly, there is a similiar styled sticker (Although not the same) on the side of the Bourgin and Bourkes in the 2011 Diagon Alley. Just noticed it last night when I was reading a review.

I used to want Death Star quantity figures, but I feel like the more figures we get are just going to reduce the quality of the builds. Kind of hoping it's just something like the trio and then one figure per building. Whether that's a shop keeper "Fortesque" or significant other "Lochkart". At that rate, looking at about 10-12 is my guess.

He most likely is, but I kind of feel like Warrick Davis kind of doesn't count considering he is basically just a guy in a suit for the most part. Love the guy, but there's barely any figures that actually sport any aspect of his face. Feels kind of like a different league to others like Christopher Lee and Chris Pratt.

Sorry, I wasn't at all trying to entertain the idea that it's microscale. Was just generally curious if such a thing would actually have a market! :-)
-
Just out of curiosity, and I don't in any way believe the set is micro scale. But if it was, are the many of you who would buy it? I know I would go straight from a first day purchase to a not at all purchase! Lol.
-
I've been wondering if the scale is going to be somewhat similar to the old Diagon Alley set. The new one is basically 2-3 times the price and is slated to have 2-3 times the amount of buildings, so it kind of adds up. Also, don't know if i'd be happy or sad getting Ravenclaw and Quidditch uniforms in the D2C. On the one hand it would be awesome to get them, but on the other hand, I will never be able to make full teams as the torsos would cost a fortune. Lol.

Just out of curiosity. Are you all happy you knew about Diagon Alley way in advance? Or do you wish it had been a big surprise? I'm kind of in the middle, as it's given me time to save up, bug geez the wait is excruciating.

I've only seen the second face for one of them and I will admit it's close. I was more comparing the open mouthed smile design between the two and just think the older one is a bit simpler, but better. But I would love it if they are very similiar, because I still need heads for both of my Quidditch Weasleys. And 100% agree on the suits. I was only commenting on the face aspect, nothing else. :-) Just to weigh in on the current conversation. While I don't mind which way the whole Gringotts argument goes. I'm not sure comparing to the current minifig scale Hogwarts is the best comparison. The Hogwarts is coming out a piece at a time and you feel like you are building the castle section by section. Whereas the Diagon Alley will admittedly feel a bit weird that they've given you 90% of the set with one glaring omission. Feels more comparable to a video game having DLC than the minifig Hogwarts. But yeah, if we get it. Great! It's a complete Diagon Alley. If we don't. Great! Means the other builds can be bigger and more detailed! :-) I do really appreciate the discussions though. It fills a slight void waiting for the actual set! :-D

Sorry, It was just my personal opinion. I have seen the high quality pictures and still think they look like little kids. I will admit the hats sitting way too low on their face may be a significant contributor to them looking like 6 year olds. All I was thinking about was how sometimes the old is still better than the new even if it's just how I see it. :-)
-
I'll admit i'm much more excited about the smaller shops than Gringotts. They will have so many more exciting little details. Reality is we were never going to get the underground exciting details of Gringotts in this, just a boring old bank really. Not saying I don't really want a Gringotts, but the other shops have me a lot more excited! :-D Also just been looking at the old Fred/George minifigures and geez, the old headpiece was a million times better than what's coming in the CMF. Have the perfect level of playfulness you'd expect from the Weasley Twins without them looking like goofy 6 year olds.

Interestingly looking at the Diagon Alley set on Google maps. We have all but one shop on one side of the street and only one shop from the other side of the street. I think it's going to be just a one sided street with maybe Quality Quidditch Supplies in the place of Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment.
-
As much as I would be dissapointed not having Gringott's, another part of me loves the idea as it leaves more details to be had in the many other stores we are getting. What I don't like is the thought of waiting another whole year for it. It's killing me just waiting til September for this damn set as it is! Rofl. Pretty psyched we are getting Weasley Wizard Wheezes though! Bet it will be so much fun! :-D Wonder if this set is going to devalue the old Diagon Alley or sent the prices through the roof? Guess it depends on the scale difference between the two.
-
Ohh... that makes sense. I thought you were saying you got 4 deliberately. Lol. Feeling them is pretty easy. I've only made 4 mistakes in 9 years of collecting collecitble minifigures! :-D
-
Really? Why 4 of Cedric? I wouldn't have thought much of him would be useful elsewhere.
-
What do you mean by non-Graves Grindelwald? Wasn't he in the Crimes of Grindelwald carriage set? You've made me realise just how little I actually pay attention to Fantastic Beasts, because I only recognise 3 of those names. Rofl.
-
I guess my opinion is coming from someone who has collected CMF figures since series 3. CMF has always been exciting and unique figure that dont necessarily fit in anywhere and in general are collectible in their own series. To me, accessory packs are for filling in gaps. CMF are for exciting new figures that dont necessarily have a place to go and are just exciting in their own right. Not saying anyone is right or wrong. Just sharing how it has always appeared to me! ? Also just to clarify when i said they should just be in a set I was meaning in time not all at once. ?
-
Yeah, the one that came in the burrow this year doesn't look like bellatrix at all. The 2010 one and the CMF ones are very similar and basically perfect. They dropped the ball a bit on the burrow one.
-
To me though, that's what the CMF is all about. They are "Collectible Minifigures" They should be minifigures that you aren't going to get anywhere else and are something special. If they are all just minifigures designed for sets, then what is special about them? They should have just come in a set! Personally I think there are too many that feel just like additional set pieces. That's what accessory packs are for.

I've got no outrage over Ginny personally, very happy to have her. Whilst I do think she should have been in the AT set directly I can see @sebastian666's point having a look back at the prior CMF. Malfoy for the quidditch team is very clearly a similiar situation as Ginny in this one. As for whether CMF's are planned for sets I'm not sure. But there are definitely a lot more sets that CMF1 directly relate to now than when it was released. Luna for Hogwarts Express, Cedric for Graveyard Battle, Neville for whatever the plants area is (Mind blank). So who knows. Could just be coincidence with these ones, or when they made the future sets they just thought well, we already have that character! :-D
