  1. Very nice looking, and the level of detail on the interior is impressive! I'm glad you were able to keep a solid base of Technic functionality in there too
  2. The EV version of the new G is revealed now. Hopefully that's not what we get in Lego, but for reference: https://www.autoblog.com/2024/04/23/2025-mercedes-benz-g-580-with-eq-technology-revealed/
  3. I might be an outlier here, but I started designing my own Technic MOCs at 13, ramped up in complexity very quickly, so at least some teenagers like to build Technic like adults! That's probably not typical, though, so the point still stands
  4. Those new images are nice! Yeah, I certainly don't expect it to beat the old buggy-motor powered cars! Still, we'd think it has at least some speed, which really doesn't make sense with the 3.7V. Weird!
  5. Just reread this... 3.7V? That sounds very low to be consistent with their claim of "fastest"! I guess it's possible to run high-output motors at low voltage (high current), but it doesn't seem to make much sense to me So we do know it has three motors, eh? I would have guessed that they'd just use one rear motor and forget the differential, but two would be better!
  6. You're right, this does deserve more comments! It is a very nicely done model with an interesting topic, combing good looks and interesting functionality! Also really nice presentation
  7. Oh, so we actually know what that hub will look like! Very interesting, but the all-in-one nature of the hub is disappointing. I wonder how much power it'll actually have! Looking forward to watching that video
  8. Oh cool, nice job! I think I recall seeing that on Rebrickable at some point. Nice to see another fan of these rigs on here! Also, I like the fact that you managed to get a realistic MacPherson strut on yours! Maybe I'll have to try building another one at a larger scale with more realistic mechanisms sometime! I guess I did already do that once, but I feel like I could improve on it:
  9. Yep! My profile pic is a model of a '95 Tracker I built as a tribute to my real-life car!
  10. Nice job! It's cool to see a model of this little-remembered car. Also nice to see a proper manual transmission in it! I like the part usage for the headlights--there's just enough of those in the set! I'm sure the headlights could be improved using extra parts not included in the donor set, but this isn't a bad solution given the available parts!
  11. Looks very fun! Powerful enough to have fun driving, and refined enough to look satisfyingly good while doing it!
  12. Yeah, I think that's probably the root of it. Having some kind of half-stud there on top of the doors would be ideal, and would allow the rear second to go down to a more proportional 1.5. I suppose it could be done with overlapping 2x4 tiles, but that wouldn't really be up to standard Technic strength expectations. You're right, though, I don't know if anyone has done better at this scale, so there's probably not much you could do about it. I do like the choice to go for the removable roof, though! It's a good touch, despite the necessary compromises
  13. Ooh, very nice! So that's only one Buwizz motor in there? That's some impressive speed and performance! I do like that skeletal bodywork quite a bit. Independent suspension does work very nicely for Lego off-roaders like that! I feel like I and others tend to build solid axles a lot, perhaps for ore realism and complexity, but independent systems just work so well! This is making me want to try to build something fast, fun, and simpler, but we'll see if I get around to that anytime soon...
  14. Ooh, cool! The 3x13 frame could be handy, but the one I'm most interested in is the axle with pinhole connector in the top right! I feel like that's a part I've wanted many times The original article suggests that this part could be used with it, for some kind of gear drive from below: https://www.stonewars.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/LEGO-neue-teile-anmeldungen-02.jpg
  15. Very nice job! You can tell that a lot of thought went into it. Great models for inspiration, too! That is some NPU for the grille! I'm not sure how I feel about the white wheels, though. It seems to give it more of a retro look that doesn't match the modern Jeep body that well. I would say that something feels a little off about the way the hardtop looks--maybe full studs are too large for proper proportioning? It's not a big deal, though, since you can always take them off! Great job!
  16. Glad to see some progress on this ambitious model!
  17. It does look nice and fluid; good job! The bigger wheels do give it some nice aggressive looks
  18. This looks like a very high quality MOC, with lots of attention to detail, and a great aggressive look! Nice job!
  19. Cool to see that progress! It looked like you had a lot of fun designing and playing with these!
  20. One other thing to check would be if you can manually turn that whole rear drivetrain (Spinning the wheels manually, or something with less gear reduction, possibly), just to make sure nothing is mechanically blocked
  21. Yeah, you can definitely go deep with Mindstorms! The stock programming interface should be good if you prefer block-based programming, while the ev3dev/Pybricks (I think they're the same thing) is better for text-based programming (Python). One other thing you could look at is the multitude of books on the topic--here's a quick search I did with lots of options available! https://www.amazon.com/s?k=minstorms+ev3+idea+book&crid=8L84OPXY76PD&sprefix=minstorms+ev3+idea+book%2Caps%2C165&ref=nb_sb_noss I definitely wouldn't worry about it being obsolete or unsupported--I set my EV3 up this year, and it seems to be the strongest all-around Mindstorms generation of them all!
  22. Impressive! Also, that's a clever technique to film two things at once using the mirror!
  23. I think my lateral stability wouldn't be very competitive! The hope is to run an event similar to this one we did last summer again:
  24. Ooh, another contest! It might be hard to find time to enter, since I'm also trying to finish a Trial Truck for the summer, and have travel plans for several weeks, but I'll give it a go! (Well, unless the topic is shockingly inconvenient for me!)
