  1. Eurobricks: “21 new posts, go to first new post” Me: “wait it’s only been 20 minutes what’s happened?” *checks Instagram, nothing* *checks EB, only 3 new posts* Darn it, Eurobricks, you got me excited
  2. Leaky Cauldron: just its presence for me really. Doesn’t need to be huge or have loads of minifigs or detail. It’s just the doorway to the Muggle world and that’s cool (I guess I just want a door and a sign lol). Also it’s A nice contrast to the busy bright DA. Gringotts: I agree. Doesn’t need to be a gigantic set. Dragon doesn’t need to be too much more than the Hungarian Horntail (I think the Creator dragons show that you don’t need tons of pieces to make a good dragon). And a Slightly smaller than Great Hall building would be perfect.
  3. Very true. I guess I’m comparing apples to oranges - Lego has gotten a lot more detailed in recent years so a lot of what I’m comparing is simply due to age and nothing to do with closed backs! See the detail in the 2011 DA set and older Hogwarts sets compared to all the current HOgwarts sets - neither have closed backs but the difference is staggering. I’m excited regardless. I don’t think it’ll impact my enjoyment either way :)
  4. More pieces on walls = less pieces on interior Detail Closed backs = larger shop = more empty space
  5. I’m glad of this. I feel it’d be out of scale with Hogwarts if it was all this tall! But thankfully yes it’ll be including every sand green ski pole haha
  6. You’ve got be there ;) good argument about being able to make a full alley too. I don’t have enough space to do that display style justice (it’d just be a wall on a shelf so I’m biased I guess. I would just prefer tons of cool interior details than empty space with closed backs!
  7. Not gonna be a good display if it’s too dark to see inside :P
  8. Closed backsides would be a waste of pieces for interior details, make it harder to put stuff in to display (especially as it’s so long), and stop light getting in the shops... in my opinion. I hope for open backs
  9. Pretty sure I’d end up with a Star Wars Brickhead, I don’t think I can be bothered to go through the faff on an unreleased set!
  10. Do you think Lego would say anything about it if it’s coming another year? I feel a lot of people won’t bother with this set with no Gringotts and then when it releases the impulse buy hype would wear off. I need to buy a new room...
  11. What a beautiful Star Wars Brickhead £18? that seems cheap! (Oh wait it’s probably the Brickhead... I wonder if they’d honour it lol)
  12. Maybe they missed off Gringotts as well ——— I got to say, looking at that lineup of shops, it sounds slightly disappointing, purely from the omission of Gringotts. There’s just something missing for me, I guess as it’s the only non-shop (apart from Leaky Cauldron). Hopefully it does mean they’ll do it separately next year. It’s certainly put me off buying it ASAP for now - I think I may prioritise other “cheaper” stuff like Treehouse that are set to retire. Also gives me a chance to save up. When/if they announce a Gringotts set, I’ll definitely get it. Still excited for the reveal as it’s gonna looo beautiful!
  13. That seems almost too high a piece count for a $400 minifig scale set. Unless it has loads of small details on the interiors (which I’d love)?
  14. Wow, surprised they even got a photo of them without them falling off darn things
  15. Just weeks ago we were debating on whether Borgin & Burke’s should/would be included in DA or as a separate set... I bet none of us would ever have imagined we would instead be discussing this about Gringotts!
  16. Story of my life... actually wait, no, I just wing it lol. I just have a box of built Lego HP that I don’t have anywhere to put... do you think maybe it’s telling me to stop buying it?
  17. I’ve bought a tent, an Ethernet cable and a modem and am planning on camping next to my ISP to ensure I’ve covered all possibilities
  18. It almost certainly will I’d say although would imagine it’ll be hard to find. But hey, at least that way you might be able to take advantage of a double points promo!
  19. Better be ready with your card details
  20. It’s almost certainly gonna sell out almost immediately...
  21. It does make sense, just confused me lol. Still hunting for Mad Eye Moody, Harry and Hermione at a good price... ——— Having built Astronomy Tower, and totally in love with the amazing design, I feel like the front of the small hall (can’t remember what it’s called) is quite plain. Has anyone tried swapping out the clear window for four coloured transparent 1x1 bricks? Im also finding the 1x2 brick on top of the tower kinda weird lol
  22. They count as a set on BrickLink (confused me to no end when trying to find HP minifigs with the accessories lol
  23. 1. I agree and I hope so, as the deeper it gets the more pieces it wastes. You can easily get the detail we need with the newer style Winter Village (i.e. Fire Station depth not Toy Shop depth). 2. I think if they include the brick entrance it’d be at the end. Isn’t that the whole point that it’s at the end of Diagon Alley? I think that/Leaky Cauldron and Gringotts are the only places whose locations matter really. 3. This would also allow Leaky Cauldron to have a front as it could be a side on shop with an open opposite side (like how the Burrow is). I think that could work well. By the way, unrelated, but is Leaky Cauldron the main entrance to DA or just for the muggle world? LC seems very quiet for a very busy DA in PS!
  24. @sebastian666and @ everyone - thank you too! It’s been an awesome journey. Well it’s not finished yet - aim for 600 next? not unreasonable if we get a few big leaks Fitting that I just finished the Astronomy Tower! Oh, and my uni is doing both online and on campus stuff although I think lectures are all online. Apparently no students will be disadvantaged if they can’t come in though. Thankfully I’m on an internship this year so hopefully won’t have to deal with it!
