I'm excited for LSW too! I'll get it for Switch. But I feel like I ought to watch the films first. Been playing some Lego Harry Potter Collection in the meantime though and it's a great nostalgia trip

The Ron book was £1 on Amazon at one point so I think it's definitely worth waiting for a bargain.

A toy, being for children? Well I never! in all seriousness it’s probably just a translation issue. I wouldn’t worry. Generally I find the prices fluctuate so much there’s not much point in predicting the price. Just get one when it’s cheap. id day a better way to do MOCs is to make a scene you want created, and then iteratively try and work on it to make it more interesting. It’s hard to do but once you get the hang of it I get the idea it comes naturally. This will get you used to what pieces are available and what pieces are useful in certain situations. Also watch YouTube videos for tips. I’ve been watching this one https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC35xtz1NFeBVLMgT5GY3a9g although I don’t agree with all his ideas (like leaving stuff in loose) it’s useful tips on how to use pieces creatively.

No exclusive figures as of yet. Tom Riddle is the only one. No exclusive parts in Build your own adventure, although the prints of the houses were exclusive till the advent calendar (in the D2C they were stickers) but it's a nice build you can get cheaply. They won't be on the Lego Store but they will be from all good booksellers as they say.

Seems like a good option to me, if the set you bought with it costs $80 you've essentially got that set free?

The search and find one? No. Comes with a dark blue potions bottle - are these difficult to get otherwise? Edit: Just looked on Bricklink, looks fairly easy to get in blue/green.

Yeah, not having a kitchen in a house would seem weird to me but very possible. Should be easy to MOC in even if it's just a sink and a cooker to the side.

Wow the stickers are really good actually! That door is super detailed. It's clear they're gonna go all out on what could easily be "just a house". If the Ford Anglia's confirmed I need to hurry up with the Whomping Willow... been waiting for it to come down to below £40 again...

They'd increase 10-fold here maybe, but not sure about the general public. People would be like "yeah I'll just buy this polybag on its own - oh wait, no Harry? What's the point?" if they're not interested in building up a collection of HP figures.

Just realised, there's lots of legs available for creating custom 1st/2nd year figures, and for custom 5th+ year figures, but it's gonna be hard to create custom 3rd/4th year figures since currently medium legs are unique to this theme... I'm curious how they'll approach Luna and Ginny who are a year younger. I think we've discussed it for Luna before, that they make her the same size just for consistency, but I'd find it harder for that to be justified with Ginny. Put it this way, I forget Luna's a year younger but I never forget Ginny's a year younger than the trio.

There's a real variety of stuff here, they're really setting you up to create whatever sort of scene you like/mix with whatever other set you like! This is a great start.

That's a good way of thinking about it. I'd love to get Newt's Case but I was saying earlier, I'd rather put that money towards this year's HP sets I think. I'm the same, wish I'd been interested in LotR and the Hobbit before now!
