    Ahhhh.... I am starting to hate GWPs, haha. last year they released the forest hideout, the threshold was too high for me to just buy stuff I don't need. Luckily it returned with the release of the 10305. Both scenarios aren't fantastic, its either you need to buy stuff you otherwise wouldnt have to get the gwp or need to buy stuff you actually wanted to buy but maybe not at that particular moment, lol. Its a marketing strat - I know! But I would still prefer they released themed sets like the forest hideout or this new majisto set as standard retail or lego store exclusive. They could actually do both, standard retail for people who can just afford smaller sets and gwp for people who buy larger sets.

    Dang, castle is getting really popular! Some really nice medieval builds this year. Luckily those sets wont come with any new civilian minifigs, so I wont be feeling like Im missing out

    Indeed, its just 3 per box. I lucked out once, shop assistants were bringing 2 new boxes and I was alone in the lego aisle. They let me grab all the orcs and falcons BEFORE putting the boxes on shelves. Lego should get rid of this system alltogether and release themed fig packs. As long as people could 'feel' the bags the gambling aspect was negligible. But with blindboxes it is becoming way too predatory imo.

    getting orcs and falcons has been incredibly difficult for me, I didn't get nearly as many as I had hoped for. as for the boxes I might actually resort to buying from scalpers but only for figs which I want just one or two at most. army building would be way too rough...

    I have seen a guy post 150 orcs on facebook. I have 11 orcs myself. they are a bit hard to come by for me, lol. ofc I could buy them from scalpers but my rule when it comes to lego is to never spend more than the recommended retail price. too bad I guess.

    OOF! I didn't even think about a potential CMF series, lol. Will definitely wait and see what's happening after the rivendell release. As it stands rivendell alone doesn't make too much sense for me as I started with lego after the heyday of castle and lotr, so I don't have anything lotr related in my collection. If they release battlepacks, sets and a cmf series then thats gonna be insanely expensive for me. Oh boy!

    that is actually a good point. totally disregarded the fact, lol. matter of fact I have mostly yellow figs... hmm... I wouldnt wanna temper with Lotr figs to make them fit with the yellow ones... and fleshing out the yellow ones would be expensive, arghhg

    they shouldn't wait too long imo. at best they could make this an anual thing with more stuff being added to the mediaval kingdom like a medieval farm or village and a black falcon fortress

    the buildings look rather bland and unsinspired. I rather doubt this will be the final set (if at all). It would be so nice to have an accompanying set for the 10305 castle, hopefully with some awesome civilian figs.

    same boat here! just way too much stuff if its all real and happening. not complaining but my wallet sadly wont allow it. but its fine, sometimes you just have to prioritize and if its stretched over a long period of time then its even better. I will wait and see what impact the leaked sets will have (on me). what I mean is, are these gonna be stand-alone sets or parts of bigger themes/waves. the medieval market and the dwarves seem to be stand-alones for sure. but lotr and zelda could be followed by waves with even bigger sets (hyrule castle?!?) and then there is no way I could afford both.

    I would imagine it might not be up high on childrens wishlist. But that was severely limited in number. Think it didnt surpass 10k copies.

    well, technically everything is an assumption. what we know so far is a) the set didn't sell out b) lego increased the purchase limit per customer the assumption is, it didn't sell so well. but already here we don't have any data to back it up. sets sold out in the past. were hard to get for a while. we don't really know why, maybe it was because of covid and lego wasn't able to produce as many as they had wanted? Maybe lego has managed to increase production in the meantime or even prioritized production of the 10305 because its an anniversary set. And maybe they have received more batches in the meantime and could increase the purchase limit without the risk of having the product sold out and some unhappy customers. When I said 'its the hefty price tag" that was solely my assumption, my opinion. 'it' standing for: the reason why I didn't sell out, etc. despite this being the major reason IMO, even I could think of lots of other reasons why it may not have sold so well. but again, we don't really know if it didn't sell well, we just know its not sold out.

    Imo its the hefty price tag. Lots of folks on facebook showed appreciation for the castle but at the same time declared they would skip it. I think people expected a ninjago gardens price and iirc the first rumours suggested a price that was about 50eur lower. And even then people complained about the price. Lego increased the price when inflation increased, understandable... Inflation, however, works in multiple ways. People have to pay higher prices for pretty much everything these days and a lego castle isn't the most important thing. Maybe lego's sales strategy involves bricklinkers :). They know people want more lion knights and forestmen. So they din't sell them and everyone will need to buy them on bricklink. Once bricklinkers run out of stock they will have to buy more castle sets from lego. :)
