  1. Okay, now after coming from the Indy Set thread, it seems a lot of people are (understandably) up in arms over Lego's supposed decision to not make sets based on Temple of Doom because of the dark nature of the film and lack of vehicle scenes. As outraged as I am about this, I can't help but wonder whether kids actually prefer vehicles that much anyway. I know my kid cousins love lego, and whenever they get out the brick box they make anything, whether it be a house (their favourite) a car or something I have no idea what it is! So this begs the question, is TLC wrong in thinking that vehicles are the only way to sell? I sure think they are. I personally think that, while admittingly vehicles are much loved by kids, they love sets as well. I've seen plenty a kid looking at King's Castle Seige wanting a base of building, not just another catapult. Don't get me wrong I love vehicles too, but even building oriented themes like City are now almost exclusively vehicle based. And while I Know Batman is a vehicle oriented character, give us some more buildings Lego! What do you think, do we have too many vehicle sets? Do you like having lots of vehicles? And is TLC wrong in thinking that everyone just wants vehicles? Batbrick Away! >:-)
  2. Ah, I see, I did recognise the Dungeons and Dragons input there, very clever. Good, I'm glad you're doing more, I love all the "run-on" creations going round EB. We have Exobuilder's comics, my Interactive Apocalypse, Dr.S's Grunts, This and more stuff I forget. Anyway, great job, I await the next one, and can't wait to find out what the Ancient walrus actually is. Oh, and another favourite bit was the Block Block referencing :-D Batbrick Away! >:-)

I agree with that, and I too find it funny that TLC would produce a set based on such a dark scene. Either way, not doing any sets based on TOD is probably the single most stupid thing TLC has done recently, though i have my doubts as to whether they still will or won't. Reasons for this are: 1. They simply said "no sets based on TOD for the Indy line", this does not directly imply never, that could mean the lineup for this year. 2. Remember when they said that Batman 08 would have no sets based off the movies? Now we have a Tumbler and a probable Batpod coming. 3. Because I want it to be false! :'-( Batbrick Away! >:-)
  4. Very good improvements Zero1312! I love that you took my advice but at the same time listening to your won instincts to keep him agile and quick. Well done, he looks much better now. And the pilot is cooler too. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  5. A very neat and well done comic LuxorV! I love the sets, they look fantastic, and the humour is very funny in places. I especially liked Hinckley touching the control panel and Sinner killing the robot with boring talk (do I smell a bit of Hitchhikers inspiration there? :-P ) Overall an excellent job, as always. Do you plan on more? Oh please do more! Batbrick Away! >:-)
  6. Thanks iamded, I didn't expect to make something like this either, but I thoroughly enjoyed building it. Glad to see you like the trans red bricks. And I agree, R.I.P floppy skellies :'-( ..... Thanks LuxorV, though I'm a bit ashamed to say the lantern is a fairly modified Arkham Asylum one :-$ But you said well placed, so that makes me happy. I'm glad you liked the story too. Oh, and about the fact that there are 6 skellies in the cave, well, my friend, thats part of the mystery.... Feel free to speculate. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  7. Thanks for another great interview guys! Its always nice to know more about the insane evil that is Dr.S, and of course his puppet Andrew. Thanks for the good, thought out answers Dr.S, its nice to see such detail. Sad to hear Tabletown won't be expanding its area, you could always set up a sister town? X-D Anyway, great interview! Good point, I was not really arguing it can't be done though, just stressing. But still, you have a point. (off topic for a sec) I really hated that scene in the HP movie, it was a total contrast with the light atmosphere of the rest of the movie. EDIT: But something worse also happens in TOD. In HP, a kid dies, sure, but no blood or anything, a rather peaceful death. TOD has a satanic cultist ripp out an innocent man's heart and then burn him alive in lava. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  9. Thankyou. you're great too TheBrickster, whatever would we do without your exciting mysteries and marvelous Grave Stone mocs? Not to mention, along with the oft-confused-with-you Brickminer, keeping interest in the great Wil West them? :-D , thanks Exobuilder, nice to know you like my work. And fill up my pm box. I would also compliment Dr.S, his hilarious sense of humour, and total committance to world domination make him a very unique guy Master. Also, I'll definitely thank Asuka, probably the nicest person here. He comments on everyone's mocs, providing pictorial humour, kind words, and constructive criticism. And when he's on a roll, it'll be all done in a single picture ;-) Batbrick Away! >:-)

While I agree with you Piranha about wanting Temple of Doom sets, I'd disagree with your assessment of Temple escape as "dark". Dark is generally seen as the atmosphere surrounding a scene, and the starting of raiders, especially the boulder part, is a rather adventurous, humorous and lighthearted affair. Temple of Doom was rather Satanic in its mood, with dark magic and occult, which gave it a very dark tone, as opposed to other films and scenes which were not this dark. Anyway, that aside, I'll join the party in wanting a bridge fight, club obi-wan, raft escape and mine car chase sets. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  11. Okay, now before you get all excited, its a vignette I've made. So don't expect anything outstanding. This is a moc I made the other day after looking through TheBrickster's excellent Grave Stone creations. All credit goes to him for the inspiration for this moc, and thanks goes to him for the permission to post it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Roll camera! _______________________________________________________________________________ The Mystery of Axe Murder House What secrets lay within Axe Murder House? What poor souls met their end here? Through this very door? Under this very roof? Four victims slain by the man who went by the name of Billy Samwood.... Who lived in this very house not fifty years ago.... What secrets lay beneath Axe Murder House? Far beneath.... The threat of Billy Samwood has long since passed.... Or, as some ask upon the sight of the still-lit lantern, has it? Has it indeed.... THE END - or is it? __________________________________________________________________________ Hope you all enjoyed that little tale. Here are a few dayshots of the vig: The skeleton cave: And now here's it empty. I'm happy the way it came out: Brickshelf Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=299428 Comments and Constructive criticism appreciated, on everything, the story, photograph and the actual vig. Thanks again TheBricktser, your wonderful Grave Stone mocs were a great source of inspiration, but I hope I still gave it a bit of it's own, unique atmosphere as well. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  12. You should of said "No! Need Attention..." without the "I", it sounds more pathetic that way and more people will reply ;-) 8-| , moving on. This is a fantastic building Hinckley, the detailing is immense with some excellent touches like the whip lights and tavern sign. The overall look is brilliant, and the upper tan and lower green/brown colour scheme works surprisingly well. What? What thats not enough attention? Okay, fine, fine: Brilliant! Fantastic! Excellent! Superb! Lovely! Gorgeous! Splendid! Wonderful! Great! :-P That enough? Batbrick Away! >:-)
  13. Well this IS the minifig customisation workshop, you could just put a decal on his back X-D Batbrick Away! >:-)
  14. Thanks Yoda, much appreciated *sweet* Batbrick Away! >:-)
  15. Well, going with the new trend of complimenting someone elses contributions, I'd like to thank Vader, not only for being an all round great admin, but for being able to cut the down on spam and unnecessary off topicness straight away, yet still contributing to the forums with some great revies and discussions :-) Also, thanks goes to Exobuilder, who's made some great comics, and made sure my pm box was full for me :-D :-P Batbrick Away! >:-)
  16. Not yet, but you could ve right about it being radioactive. Perhaps this is what leads to the events of my Interactive Apocalypse? Batbrick Away! >:-)
  17. Even I, who has been positive about it so far, will admit its an ugly theme and worse than MM. However, it contains some great molds and parts, so I will buy some sets and be happy with that, and as you say, we can always mod them :-) Batbrick Away! >:-)
  18. What, you mean like the guys who made Jack Stone? X-D Yes, the rules say thats okay, my engine pieces are white. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  19. A very well made and excellently studless vehicle Exobuilder. I love that it can hold six troops, and the dark trans cockpit looks great. My criticisms are that the front "bumper" looks far, far too weak to survive in combat, and that the jet engines, while a good idea as guns, aren't very convincing. I think they should be elongated, and then they'd be fine. Apart from that, fantastic job! Batbrick Away! >:-)
  20. Well, while this is revived, I might as well give my two cents. I think that the Viking Fortress, while not at al convincing as a wild west set, came with plenty of excellent parts for making one. A Frown Legoredo X-D Batbrick Away! >:-)
  21. Great work as always TheBrickster, I was surprised at how well the Imperial Officers worked as Germans. The building itself looks great, though as pointed out a door might be helpful, and the flag in the center of the building works really well. The telegraph pole I like, but I see room for improvements, however I love how you've incorporated the border booth and motorcycles from the Indy set. Very sneaky. The interior details are well done too, I love the gun rack and radio. I think the Italian colour scheme of the fuel barrel looks a bit at odds with the rest though. And the antenna on the side of the building looks a bit modern I think. Overall a great scene, with a good imaginative input. But where's Indy? X-D Batbrick Away! >:-)
  22. I always liked the tie Scimitar even if it was a bit weird, thanks for sharing this. Its a clever design, I love the use of the cement piece. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  23. This is actually one of my favourites, I just love the classic "are we there yet?" joke :-D Great work as always Dr.S, and its also great to be seeing your vehicles in here too. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  24. I'd say its spam-free now, the spammers have calmed down now and the builders, myself, Dr.S and you included, are now just building and sharing fun military mocs and hilarious town stories. I'm pretty happy with where it is going, I know that when my Interactive Apocalypse calms down I'll be improving my tank making skills (thanks for the tips btw *sweet* ) and helping out. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  25. I voted for Fat Tony's amazing and unique catamaran entry, I love it! Batbrick Away! >:-)
