  1. (Scientists plan to build Star on Earth) Mwahaha, just as planned..... Seriously though, sounds interesting, though I'm still bummed by the cutbacks on NASA's space plan. Unrelated? Probably, but this stuff should be done on the moon for added effect! Batbrick Away!
  2. This is the greatest thing I've seen, and I've seen attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. My favourite part is how effective the eyes are, and the perfect pieces for the fangs. -Batbrick
  3. No, you'll be adding it to your watch-right-damn-now list But seriously, looking at your tastes, this'd be right up your alley. If you're anything like me though you'll spend ages promising yourself that this will be the "last episode before I go to sleep". I believe the creator also made 20th Century Boys, which has also received massive praise. I've accidentally spoilered myself on it quite a bit and there's nothing I hate more than that. Hopefully that gets animated one day too. -Batbrick
  4. I'll have to go back and check, but I think the backgrounds work really well until an action scene happens and it becomes much more noticeable, such as the one where Valkyrie took of with Friendlich's ship and dumped it off a cliff. But this really just seemed to work. I don't know if it was just the background either though, your previous action scenes seemed rather messy. I don't mean that in an offensive way, sorry if it sounds, but you've definitely really improved to a stage where you can have each panel of a comic progress logically to the next. Soon, you will overcome weakness itself, and then become...a GOD! Or not, anything can happen. I'm going to come across as a bit of jerk in saying this, but I'll say it anyway; I think the comic works a lot better that way. I love reading a lot of one-shots in a row, I've no problem with them and I love that you use them to their absolute potential such as non-canon, meta and of course using them to briefly update every character. But when they happen in the middle of a story, it seems the wish of getting back to that distracts them from their own merits. Again, massive apologies, you could have Shwartz doing it with a monkey next part and I'd still be a loyal fan. Anyway, as promised, my ever-so-late reviews: Literal Interpretation of Incubus: Woah! Never before has context been so necessary Do you perhaps have a link to the song? Date Night Part 21: I had a laugh at everything Shwartz missed, but the real jem is in the next part - Date Night Part 22: Valkyrie of all people being muffled and translated is quite funny, but the whole "wrong conclusion" trope made me burst out laughing, having forgotten it and just reread it. I like Angus too, hope to see him again, though I'm more interested in the stories of the Twins, Red, Mikey and Captain Dash. Date Night Par 23: Ooh! New one to read now! You seem to have a knack for final panel punchlines, and especially story ones. Whatever other tiny flaws a story might have I'm beginning to see that the final story will always make me laugh. I love that the DACTA news team is slowly revealed as totally party wreckers with everything. And I love the lighting you always have with the Chief. Its not quite ominous, but its certainly got some great shadow work a bit. Mr and Mrs Shwartz: TINY SHWARTZ! He's cute! Adorable. In fact, I'd say this is one of the major reasons I'm so addicted to this comic. The comedy is always (apart from that freakin' scary death one) present, but you've also got a lot of heart in your stories KDog. Sort of like the classic early Simpsons. There's one panel with off lighting but the rest are fine, but damnit, that's not going to ruin this for me. Back on the Job: Continuity porn! I remember this, loved the "Forsooth" speaking Dragons and their Knights of Awesome, which I maintain is the coolest knight name ever. Sorry, tangent. Anyway, is this a one-off, or the first part? I'm getting more and more blurred on what is a continuing storyline and what isn't. I like that too though, adds a sense of mystery. Oh, and gotta feel sorry for Jorge there. Batbrick Away!
  5. Definitely give it a go, it is very, very good. Don't expect arcs or all stories to be good but it is amazing. You've made like half a post and you're already one of my favourite members. Totally agreed on Cowboy Bebop, it is probably the biggest non shoenen oriented anime to draw in the western crowd. Samurai Champloo is a very fun, anachronistic series, both of these are on my shelf. I never cared for Trigun, it came across as overly preachy to me. If there's one thing I would recommend though, it would be Monster: Look at me! Look at me! The monster inside of me has grown so big! And I saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads, the names of blasphemy. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" Its 74 episodes but so very, very worth it. I can't even begin to think of another piece of fiction that rivals it in my books. It is my favourite piece of fiction EVER. It is the story of a Doctor who is demoted after choosing to save the life of young child - who had been shot in the head - over the Mayor who would have given grants to the hospital, and therefore is demoted and disgraced. Murders happen. It is intensely psychological, and I cannot think of another work that has been so thoroughly researched so as everything from language, culture (set in Germany), psychology are precise. There is a lot of darkness, but I love that it also does not wallow in it and become nihilistic. The dark is there for a reason and it is all about people being able to pull themselves out of it. I know I'm sounding like a madman desperately selling something, but it totally changed my entire view on storytelling. Just don't look up spoilers. -Batbrick
  6. Excellent little vig lightningtiger, the lack of loads of detail really sells it as a raw representation, and certainly a respectful one. Batbrick.
  7. Ha, this is quite awesome sok117, love how fully green and loaded it is. Excellent perversion of the Toy Story soldiers! Batbrick Away!
  8. Absolutely stunning BaronSat, you never fail to impress and amaze with your playsets and vehicles. I adore the bright, positive atmosphere to this one, really hearkens back to the classic Superfriends cartoons. The characters look great barring Wonder Woman needing black hair and Superman having a weird face. Aquaman is perfect though. Not much else to say, but the sleek look of the building is great and the blue an brown really sell it. Batbrick Away!
  9. Yeah, I'm hoping they'll do the same with the stupid parellel Cybermen that they did to the RTD-era Daleks; kill them off, this time with the creepy original Mondas Cybermen. Sorry to burst oyur bubble but I don't think there was one. This needs to be repeated to the Nth degree, I don't know what in his insane mind made RTD think an emo Doctor crying every finale over the fact that he is "so alone! Waaa!" when he never cared before was a good idea, but I wish he had had it lobotomised out ages ago. Because everyone should hear it. Er, they didn't fly to the moon, it was stated that the Dalek saucer had moved into close orbit. And the "hocus pocus alien technology" (which should never be a complaint with Doctor Who anyway) was also stated by Bracewell earlier as prototype Spitfires he developed much earlier because of his unknowing knowledge of Dalek technology. Agreed on this. Given how fun and atmospheric the Dalek ruse was, they should've axed this down to a mere fix by the doctor with Amy's help to give more time to that. Definitely looking forward to this one, should be great. I agree the episode was let down by cliched aspects and had pacing problems, but it also had some great stuff, so it averages out at, well, average for me. And if this is the worst episode then this should be the best new season yet. Thanks for the link, Charlie Brooker is a legend above men, I love his Screenwipe and Newswipe, and its always funny to see Doctor Who bypass his cynical exterior. Batbrick Away!
  10. This man is a legend folks! A Totally unbiased Batbrick!
  11. Oooh! Just noticed this because of low activity recently, hopefully I'll be able to join in and create something, however small! Thanks to everyone that organised this too, very clever. Also, love how the piece limited is fairly loose, I'll be making small stuff, likely Persianifying a set. Batbrick Away!
  12. I'll update better later and reply to you soon KDog, but just posting to say I've read the recent ones and they're fantastic! Batbrick Away!
  13. Nah, nothing so James Bond, just came across leaked pics on the internet. I taking this joke and claiming it as my own! Agreed so much it becomes borderline offensive! Who thought it would be a good idea to have the Cybermen as some parellel version that are weak as a poodle? Oh right, RTD of course. Anyway, really enjoyed the new episode, even if it wasn't on a par with The Eleventh Hour/Beast Below. I absolutely love how this season is setting up a "dark fairytale" quality, outrageous but also creepy with none of that nonsense of farting aliens. Love the new Daleks, and a fantastic touch that the inferior ones accepted their fate. Very much looking forward to them becoming a consistence threat instead of "DESTROYED FOWEVAH!" and with millions of them. Spitfires in space were beautiful too. The robot subplot bomb resolvement was weak however, and Churchill was a pretty "heroic historical upgrade" version, I was hoping to see some of his trademark wit and sexism. Oh well, next week's looks like a blast and if earlier seasons are any indicator, this is where things begin. Batbrick Away!
  14. Look guys I'm okay with you not voting for the CROSSDRESSING LIGHTNING BABE (PEW! PEW!) because he/she's too innovative, I know the score! Anyhoo, my first vote goes to LuxorV, that thing is just beautiful, and does justice to a sewer system like my Killer Croc one could only hope for. Plus piano? The classics are classic for a reason mate. Secondary vote to Oky, that Buzz theme is sweet and I love the endless rotation. Lightningtiger got it right I think. Goodluck to everyone! Batbrick Away!
  15. Not even close, considering the green Daleks are just painted. But I think you'll be entertained. Batbrick Away!
  16. Actually the Daleks will have a colourful redesign you'll see. Very much looking forward to this, looks to be the first entertaining Dalek episode in years. Also, D-Day would make no sense, this is taking place around the time of the Battle of Britain. Batbrick Away!
  17. Hmmm, heard about this the other day, a sad thing indeed. With this and Wolverine and the X-Men being cancelled, it seems Marvel has turned over a new obsession with killing off its best properties. I don't think you're overreacting enough there. Batbrick Away!
  18. I know for sure that it has been officially stated as not receiving a third season as of a recent Comic-Con. However there is still a possibility, but don't hope too much as many of the people associated with the project are working on different ones now, including the headliner Greg Weismann. Agreed, though I'd go as far as saying the films were downright terrible. I watched that teaser quite a while ago, but still very much looking forward to it. Also, not really a cartoon or anime, but I very much enjoy the Internet Machnima series Red vs Blue, hilarious stuff with fantastic dialogue and quite a complex plot once the series gets rolling. Batbrick Away!
  19. Very much appropriate given the subject matter though. I've also noticed that while you're still using the laptop background, which can occasionally work against you, the Loch Ness background of this story accompanies quite well. Batbrick Away!
  20. Just brilliant! Love the way you've sloped the black bricks so effectively, and the whole thing is so perfectly in scale. I'm surprised at how well the flat roof works too, usually it looks a bit plain but it really works with the rest of the smooth design. Oh, and I'm very jealous of your building skills Batbrick Away!
  21. Brilliant comic, I cracked up laughing! The line Batman said is so out-of-character its hilarious! Fantastic vignette too, lovely details and a good deal of studlessness without going overboard. Batbrick Away!
  22. Including DeinonychusDen! Too shameless? Batbrick Away!
  23. Good grief! Your voice on that audio clip! And you talk about Superheroes! And hurrah, the story continues! I had to laugh at Shwartz still thinking of his awkward problem while a flippin' UFO descends upon him! Batbrick Away!
  24. So, what did everyone think of The Beast Below? Batbrick Away!
  25. This has unjustly gotten no replies! I love this fig Morgan19, makes me wish I had Brickforge items. The helmet and gmechanical hand especially work together well! Batbrick Away!
