[OFFICIAL] LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
Peter1999 replied to CloneCommando99's topic in LEGO Pirates
Is the compass gone now? I waited until midnight yesterday, it was not possible to order for the first 15min from cz, no preorder button... Now I get back from work, it is on backorder and no gwp? why there is 3 day early access when not everyone can get the gwp meant for this set? If that is the case there is no reason (at least for me) to order now, will wait for huge discount. It just seems illogical from TLG. -
I was looking for the upcoming sales on lego.com when I noticed that there is a 40514 VIP Winter Wonderland listed as reward in VIP playfull holidays section for 1000 points, if anyone is interested in getting it.

Recently when I rearranged my collection I find out that this car does not fit on my new shelves. So I created a 3D printed stand, with 15x15cm base, and 45 degrees incline. With this stand this car fits common 24-26cm wide shleves without problem. For anyone interested, here are the files: McLaren stand 3D print

I was wondering what happened to this VIP pack. Did anyone received any code to get it? Was it available, even if only in UK? When you type a set number to google, Luxemburg official Lego shop will come up with it, listed for 10€ as "free item". EDIT: UK shop has it listed as well. 40515 in official Lego shop No overpriced ebay offers so far, so I suppose it was not released yet.

Can confirm, today I received Ferrari in separate box as Hideout, but it was same order at DPD tracking and came at the same time.

it is online on eu shop, but not see it added to cart? is this normal?

It looks great, I am looking forward to midnight, to order Ferrari with this gwp! I saw somewhere on instagram, I think it was hoth bricks, that there should also be restock of 40450 gwp along this one. Is it true or not?

That is something I am really thinking about - how they decide which set will be backorder and which will be out of stock? Many large sets are out of stock. I would like to buy the new technic Ferrari with this gwp, but I am not sure, if it will be in stock at that time. When the CAT came out, they sold the first batch and then it was out of stock for few weeks. Similar story with Mclaren F1, when they made changes to the model.

Actually I am more interested in the book than the lego car. From reviews it looks like they really put an effort into it and showed some behind the scenes of the development process. But it is hard to justify the price. On the other side, Ferrari Automobilist posters costs about the same. Few years back Ferrari made a coffee table book which cost 30000€! Pagani made a not limited book series, which was around 200€. For luxury automotive brands, this is a form of presentation, and its usually limited and extra expensive, even if they don´t show much of the developement process. It does not make sense, if only one who can afford it is someone who really owns this type of supercar. So they found a way how to sell 5000 copies to lower priced market. Is it 80€ for lego book a much? Yes, I agree. Is it much for "Ferrari limited series"? That license, thats what we paying for here... Anyway, there should be some interesting castle gwp in middle of the June, do you think it will be in stock until then (car not the book)?

Looking at the photos of W13 from track today, tumbler tires as wets does not seem to be a bad choice. Wets are still Cinturato, so stickers on lego are incorrect. Wheel covers need improvements, they are too big. All teams chosed style of second FIA iteration (smaller, more bulky) instead of first drafts (big flat cover).

Quick question - is there some limited slip / lockable differential like someone mentioned or not? IMO as a F1 fan, this is what I expected, I will buy it eventually and hang it sideways on the wall. With functions it resembles older Ferrari technics which are impossible to buy nowadays, so I am not really dissapointed. But I agree on that the engine compartement could be made better, it does not need gearbox, but some details like on older F1 technics and removable hood would be great. What I really looking forward is that soon there will be topic "mclaren f1 mod and improvements", where you other experienced builders make all changes for rest of us, to make this car perfect!

42110 - Land Rover Defender
Peter1999 replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Tried this today (it is good that all needed parts are in spares and rear middle headrest), it helps, at least it prevents gears from damaging. Also when inspecting I noticed that DNR shaft was too stiff, so some of the forces transfered through friction to the R in D mode (tested with u-joint removed, fake engine still rotated). Loosening this connection also helped. Overall, I love its complexity even with this downside. I will just keep in mind to push it around mainly in neutral -
42110 - Land Rover Defender
Peter1999 replied to 1gor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi everyone. I just finished building my Defender, and it has a lot of resistance and cracking in higher gears (faster fake engine). I followed racing bricks ultimate repair guide, but I did not find anything wrong. I have currently disconected the u joint shaft leading from gearbox to red axle towards fake engine and the cracking stops. I see a delay in the gearbox, when I push car forward and stop, the gears in gearbox rotates little longer. Is it normal? Where should I look for problem? -
Santa´s front yard 40484 is back as gwp (at least at lego.com/sk-sk), same promotion as before. So no second gwp this year then?

Hi, I was thinking if there is a simple "plug&play" way to add gearbox to 42125. After little googling I found 4-speed sequential gearbox by Whathetech on rebrickable. So, I build the rear part of the car in stud.io and tried it with this gearbox. ferrari_gte_gearbox_4 by Peter Kiss, on Flickr And it fits! It fits right into the empty space in the chassis. You need to turn crankshaft by 180 degrees, and put a longer axle on the diff output gear. Then this gearbox slides in perfectly. As on the rebrickable, red is output to differential, yellow input which I connected to engine, orange is shifter. Right now I did not build any paddle shift mechanism, because I am not sure if there is solution in such small space around the steering wheel. The gears can be changed by turning knob like in the landrover for example. Whats the catch? I needed to remove the long red liftarm, so I do not know how stiff this solution is. I am also not sure about how seat is mounted, probably it is 1 stud in collision right now. And I do not have 42125 yet, so I can not test it. If someone more skilled can take a look onto this, I would be happy to share stud.io file. ferrari_gte_gearbox_3 by Peter Kiss, on Flickr ferrari_gte_gearbox_2 by Peter Kiss, on Flickr ferrari_gte_gearbox_1 by Peter Kiss, on Flickr

DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I really hoped for some GWP with UCS Tumbler, but looking on Australian lego web, there is no such promotion, and it is already on backorder. -

Looking at the UCS Tumbler preorder page at Lego.com, I am really tempted. I did not get previous Tumbler, so I would like to have UCS and smaller one, like the 1989 versions. BUT what I wonder about - what are the chances for a gwp with ucs this year?
