That's a very nice car you made, very sleek and authentic looking! I do feel that the side window is a bit big though, it might look better if it were split up in two windows i think. Just my 2 cents..

You've captured that weird science project very well Sava! I like that fact that you made something that is rarely seen and even less known, something i like to do as well.

A platform should be as high as the bottom of the doors. Nowadays those are all standard size i think. A lot of trains ofcourse have doorsteps to accomodate entry at lower platforms or overcoming distance between the coach and platforms. I'v even seen retractable doorsteps, i think it was on the TGV. (Maybe some pnuematic there? ) Maybe this picture will help?:

Make the coaches 8 wide and add ''doorsteps''. The coaches look too small compared to the engine, so does the tender. Planning on fully overhaulin mine in the future, then i'll make the whole thing in 8 wide and remove all the gearing and stuff to make it run on 9V better, i'll also make the pushrods sleeker, as i think they are a bit bulky on the original. I'll propably do that with the thinner technic bars. Good luck on it!

I think i like the red better, i'm also thinking about red myself. Here's my quick sketch of the colorscheme i'll use: It's dark red in my case.

Welcome to Eurobricks, always good to see another Dutch on the boards! So what is your favourite theme? Do you have MOCs online anywhere?

The only thing i have a problem with is the color difference in same colored pieces and the discouloring of bricks. (Though that last one will be hard to do something about i guess) So those things i'd like to see changed.

I can't decide on my colorscheme. I'll post a pic when i do, how are your thoughts about your colorscheme guys? Please be advised that there is a small mistake in step 2, which i will fix tomorrow when i post step 3. But for those who want to change it in advance: the first and last 5 studs of the widened part should be on 3 plates instead of 1.

Look up reference material like pictures, books and what not. Sketch up the thing, so much trhat you can walk around in it in your dreams. Then start planning: -How many pieces will i need? -What type of pieces do i need? -How big a budget do i have? Then ask yourself if it is doable. (Little doubte should be overcome) Planning is the key.
