  1. Yeah congrats Milan! I think our next event should be an EB ride out!
  2. That looks very close to the original, well done! I'd change the black plates on the flag for tiles though.
  3. Looks great Duq, i hope to see it at Legoworld next week?
  4. It looks great so far! I really like your headrails, though i don't see them as finished yet. The middle one should curve a bit the other way round, like the top one. Now it looks like it bends downwards. I'd also try and make them a little higher, i.e. the figurehead usually sticks up a bit higher then the bow. The gunports are a great idea, though i would make the tile above across the whole hull. So that it looks like a protection beam. At the stern there is somewhat of a gap between the galleries and actual stern, especially at the top. I would try and close that up a bit more. And i have a nitpick ont the red strip at the bow. It gets thicker at the bow and runs straight forward, breaking up the nice curve of the line you have along the ship. I'd definitely make that evenly wide and curve up a bit mor gradually if possible. Those are just my thoughts, i hope it helps. Keep it up!
  5. When i read the title i thought you were drinking. Then i saw the pictures and it all became clear. Nice work Athos, your miniland figures are getting better and better.
  6. Looks very cute, something like a rusty Wall E robot. Can all you other people please stop posting 1 word posts? Consider this a friendly warning.
  7. Ships got painted, repainted, not painted, painted red, black etc. etc. It doesn't really differ much between nations, the flag decided who's ship it was basically. Apart from that they would use captured ship under their own flag without repainting them. The best way to distinguish different nations in ships is to look at the way they are build. Where the French made long hulls and heavily decorated their sterns, the British had wide rather bulky ships with only little decorations. Where as in the beginning of the golden age (1600 - 1750) ships had big differences, they after that time started to look like the British ships as they were most economical. Dutch and Spanish ships also had big differences from the nations mentioned above. The 17th and early 18th century ships where the most colourful ships around, after that war got expensive and ships were produced as fast and inexpensive as possible. You'd see a lot of unpainted wooden ships, with only few decorations and only some black stripes on the hull and a bit of colour on the headrails and stern. So what colour is the most realistic? I'd say you can use any colour, i have seen a lot of models and paintings with ships in basically any colour. I usually take up a ship and model her after the original, also using the colours. On the other hand this is Lego, and you decide what you think looks good. I hope that clarifies it a bit, otherwise do not hesitate to ask more.
  8. That would megablocking scare the crap out of me, and i am not an easily scared person. Last time i was riding 165 km/h and that was pretty fast i thought.
  9. Not sure that i have, i don't watch tv all that much anymore. I am a big chopper buff though, so i know most engines and models. Me and a mate are planning on building an old school Yamaha XS650 hardtail chopper this winter, i'll keep you guys posted on it.
  10. Welcome to the team 3D Brick thang! If you need help or advise you know where to find us.
  11. Yeah those are awesome. Did you know you can get a reproduction, show polished 100ci powerplus indian block? Costs only about 10.000 dollar, but hey then you've got something.
  12. No no no, i mean if somebody isn't careful they learn the hard way, i didn't mean you. The tag was given to me btw, i didn't make or give it, but i do like it!
  13. Indeed. I fail to see how it is beneficial, what have we exactly gained after that first moon landing? Apart from cool TV footage of course.
  14. Interesting subject. They probably are still checking out if it is able to live on the moon. The real question in my opinion is: is this useful, or is it simply wasting tax money?
  15. Yes the technique used on La Mort Royal is the same as this. However La Mort Royale is not bigger, it is also 5 midsections. If you want to go bigger, i'd advise you not to use more then 7 midsections on the hull, as it will look like a cigar otherwise. May i also ask you to reduce the size of the image in your signature a bit, it is now distracting from the posts. I'd go with no blue as your gundeck stripe as it isn't very realistic. But if you must, i'd say dark blue.
  16. Cool, a friend of mine has a garage and all the necessary equipment, including a bridge to do most maintenance. I love those nights of working on bikes, having beers and good 'ol Rock and Roll in the stereo. You are a lucky bastard, that is a really nice bike! You'll learn to get careful the hard way otherwise, i'm getting sick and tired of speeding tickets though.
  17. Does it squeak like the real thing as well?
  18. I really like these 2 models Ralph, they have that fun summery feel to them and would look good in any water scene! I enjoy sailing myself during the summer and my parents actually have a cabin cruiser almost exactly as you have made it.
  19. Well the bike isn't cheap, nor is the maintenance. But compared to fuel use and time saving, i am laughing my megablocks of to car drivers.
  20. A friendly reminder not to turn this into a Red VS Blue topic. Discuss the subject given in a nice way, or I'll have to close it down.
  21. Happy birthday Ruben! This one's for you: And yes, you can eat it.
  22. You forget fellows.... I'd say humour any day!
  23. Hey it wasn't all that bad Doc, don't be too hard on yourself.
  24. Again a tough vote, you're causing me to have headaches guys! I've voted for Cooper's Cab Forward. I had never seen one and i think it is a very original idea to choose it as a model. Next to that it is brilliantly executed and i am just a sucker for steam engines. Again well done everybody and good luck in the contest!
