  1. This looks great, especially the angles in the main fuselage. The R2 unit looks cool too. I don't understand the mechanism or how it's broken so I'll just trust you on that. I just know it looks good.
  2. I was recently reminded of how much I like 40649, and in retrospect I should have included it in my top 5. Not sure what I'd remove though.
  3. I loved the head cockpit gimmick in 40649. Hopefully we'll get some sort of cool surprise in the Space version.
  4. I've never been keen on Lego buying Bricklink. But if the account merge means I can actually stay logged in to Bricklink for more than a half hour, that might be a small win.
  5. Oh my god! A Futuron base with dual giant trans green windscreens! I love it! It really is a rocket research base, since even the rover is basically a rocket with wheels. The dark yellow Futuron guy looks great too!
  6. The stores that have the most parts always overcharge by insane amounts. I went to your rebrickable link. All you have to do is chose the second store on the list to save $600. Or the third to save $700. You can probably save more but if you break the order across too many sellers you start to lose money on shipping. Buy what you can from the cheapest store with most of what you need. Buy only what you have to from the expensive stores.
  7. Upscaled blue spaceman incoming according to reddit.
  8. A Lego employee not recognizing Rock Raiders? That's a paddlin'.
  9. Cool use of the X-Pod piece! The walker design is simple yet elegant. The ground build is great too. Lol. This MOC is still cool though.
  10. Come on Lego Ideas, give us something like this:
  11. Here's a fun SeaTron build with a 6783 Sonar Transmitting Cruiser vibe. Pretty shapes: Pretty colors:
  12. I found it in California. They were kind of hidden with the Halloween stuff, not near the other Lego, FYI.
  13. Yay for a new white & trans green spaceship to go with your other one! It's a pretty color combo. I like the central dish which makes it look like the ship can hover and do VTOL stuff. The "space wing" on the nose and the rear stanchion and all the pointy bits make this feel like a real classic set. The rear pilot looks super cozy with his computer and open cockpit.
  14. I will clarify that I'm more angry at the individual stores that do this, and the people defending them, than Bricklink itself. I'm not sure what Bricklink could/should do about this. I don't think any website that has third party sellers does any sort of high price/ripoff detection. Something that flags a price if it's outside of 3 standard deviations from the average would be interesting (and possible since they have the exact part/color/condition and price guide info). Hell maybe Bricklink does have something like that. I definitely like the idea of marking these stores as "least favorite" or whatever the option is.
  15. I had the misfortune of running into some of these stores when buying parts for a MOC. I imported a parts list into Bricklink and was letting their system find lots where I could get most of the parts I need from the fewest sellers. The first one it finds is absolutely ludicrous. It was like $250 for 60 or so common, cheap parts. The next option was slightly cheaper. The third store was way more reasonable, something like $80 for the same parts. Honestly even that store had a steep mark up, but was the most reasonable of the big US stores that had many of the parts I needed. I actually remember this happening the first time I bought of a bunch of parts this way. I had to manually filter out the scam stores. When they are always the first store to pop up when buying big lots of bricks, that's a problem. It's not just "don't buy from them", it's "manually filter out these jerks during an already complex process". Not sure how people are defending this. "What's wrong with ripping people off? Just don't buy from them." How about don't try to rip people off? These stores add no value to the world whatsoever. They are a nuisance at best, and a scam at worst if someone was naive enough to buy from them.
  16. TLG has lots of printers so what's deterring them?
  17. I was gonna say, it is a statue. A big, unmoving block of plastic. Too big to be one piece IMO. Modern horses are about that big and have moving parts.
  18. I just checked out the pics of that set, and it includes a Christmas Classic Space sweater torso! The set is pretty cute in general, so I might have to get it now.
  19. I was able to get the purple helmet and air tank off Bricklink after the prices became close to reasonable. If these new parts ever hit PAB, they won't be expensive to get. Hopefully that's part of the "plan" too. Not sure if it's news to anyone, but the 2025 City Advent Calendar has a Classic Space Christmas sweater.
  20. Preserving life on Earth isn't political.
  21. True. I have to wonder if it's just easier that way for intrepid heroes who work inside Lego to sneak out Space minifigs. Slip out the torsos via BAM, then the other parts via random sets. We're getting trans yellow windscreens in SW this year too.
  22. Way cool!
  23. Sadly I agree. And I also think the new Renegade is easily the worst Icons set ever, in terms of design and aesthetics. I voted, and put the Galaxy Explorer in the top spot. I also voted for the Friends Space Research Rover, Forest Hideout, Lion Knight's Castle, and the obscure 60395, which is a perfect set.
  24. I was obsessed with Robotech as a kid in the '80s. It was the US version of Macross (and Southern Cross and Mospeada). At that time, almost nobody knew what anime was, and if they did, they called it Japanimation. I loved renting any anime VHS tapes I could find at mom & pop video stores as well as Blockbuster. I also bought Animag, and later, Animerica magazines, which were often easier to find, and definitely cheaper, than actual anime. Tenchi Muyu was the second anime I liked almost as much as Macross. Record of Lodoss Wars was the first anime box set I ever bought. I remember getting it at Suncoast Video in the mall for about $100. Money well spent. Of course now I have the DVDs. Geez, I probably need to upgrade to Blu Ray if there even is one. I still like anime, but mainly OVAs from the 80s & 90s. High budget cel animation was peak. Various "American" '80s cartoon intros are on regular rotation in my house. Thundercats might have the most epic cartoon intro of all time. Ducktales, Voltron, Silverhawks, Gummi Bears, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Inspector Gadget are other favorites. GI Joe was my favorite non anime cartoon as a kid.
