  1. Why is R2 sitting up perfectly as a target for Vader? Is the 2x6 tile a new piece? Most importantly, what is the wing folding mechanism? Enough about the X-wing. I don’t expect every other OT craft will be getting new smaller versions soon. As has been said, the Shuttle was due for a remake and the new version looks to scaled the same as the 2018 Sentinel. The Snowspeeder speeder is already small enough. Perhaps a TIE Interceptor? An A-wing with a shorter nose and longer engines would be enough.
  2. The X-wing, Tie, Sith battlepack and microfighters were officially released the day TROS was in cinemas. I had a big issue trying to get the X-wing including considering driving through a bushfire area after K-mart cancelled my orders twice on 18th December. From what I remember the Mando battlepack didn’t arrive in shops until mid January so that is probably what what will happen this year with 75299.
  3. That still doesn’t make it acceptable. To some extent it would have easier to obtain this set in a normal year where conventions were unaffected.
  4. I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t include a big slab of dragon meat and a pearl.
  5. Why? The Resistance helmets are excellent.
  6. Last year legitimate pictures were around mid-November. However, that was for 1 January releases so maybe a month later this year given that sets are released throughout autumn from 1 February. Speculating further to that, are the staggered releases to shift waves to an autumn/spring schedule instead of summer/late winter?
  7. Thank you. Just 2 of 6035405: Brick With Bow 1X10 and some bracket pieces with cheese slopes. I decided to just try them there as I wasn’t satisfied with my previous solution and they looked surprisingly good. A straight slope would be ideal though. The cannons are still a work in process. I’m not sure if I have the right pieces to get them where I want at the moment.
  8. The part you’re referring to is the cockpit itself. The upper part looks to be hinged upwards like on 75221.
  9. With a new X-wing coming I thought it was time to share my mods of 75218. Modifications are: 1. Extend the front of the engines. 2. Lengthen and lower the rear engines. 3. Add new pieces for a sloping front fuselage. 4. Moving the wings closer by 1 plate. 5. Shorten the nose by 1 stud. 6. Different rubber band design at the back of the wings. Also added better landing gear and changed the colours of a few parts around. Feedback welcome.
  10. The shuttle cockpit design is the same as 75221 where it hinges up. Probably not enough space for more than one minifigs but more accurate than 75094. Its going to be weird having the new X-wing on shelves at $80 with Grevious’ starfighter and the Night Buzzard next to it at $120. Probably even Paasana Speeder boxes as well. I have tried the wing design from 75273 with the gears from 75102 when I was modding the latter and it doesn’t work. The small gear lacks enough friction to overcome the rubber bands. They could be reverting to the 75102 design with all the bands at the back.
  11. So trying to analyse the X-wing design a bit. It looks like most of the parts removed were to do with the complexity of the engines in 75218. This area looks better as the previous engines were a bit too big and did not extend from the front of the wings. The overall size is similar as looks about 2-3 studs shorter in the nose and 2 studs less across the wings. The change that looks concerning is the removal of the hinges so the fuselage no longer tapers to the nose. It looks to be 4 studs wide, then 3 studs before the new nose. The rear of the engines look a bit too high, 75218 had the same problem, but might be longer. The wing folding mechanism is unclear but hopefully not just clickhinges. Apart from the fact they extend out from instead of sit on top of the wings, the cannons look good. If the price ends up being $70-80 in Australia it would be acceptable but I fear it will be $100.
  12. The X-wing still has a flat nose/forward fuselage. The cannons extend out beyond the wings for some reason. Do not want!
  13. The shuttle looks good and the TIE better than expected. I can only see the nose of the X-wing at the moment and I’m not impressed at all.
  14. I would be very surprised if the first sequel UCS was not a T-70 X-wing. I agree that Ren’s shuttle would also be a good option however. There’s plenty of prequel era vehicles to be made first anyway.
  15. It looks to include a new 6*2 wedge plate that could possibly be useful in the nose of the new X-wing. Edit: Actually just a 3*12 wedge.
  16. An email this morning indicated the saber is only available with the Cantina and there was no mention of double VIP points. At least in Australia.
  17. Han with a brown jacket apparently. A Solo version would be good.
  18. The X-wing is apparently a similar size to 75218 but less detail. Tie Fighter has smaller ‘wings’ and 3 minifigs. The release dates are crazy as well, spread across February, March, and May.
  19. A 350 piece X-wing? Perhaps midi-scale.
  20. Another one I just thought of. The rate of Landspeeders and Snowspeeders is nowhere near as common as everyone thinks. According to Brickset, there has only been 4 Landspeeders since 2004 and it had been 3 years since the last Snowspeeder before the 2019, apart from the UCS version.
  21. It could be over $600 in Australia as well. I like the look of it but I’m not really into collecting minifigs so this set doesn’t really appeal to me for the huge price it will be.
  22. Definitely AT-AT. It is overpriced and doesn’t quite feel worth the cost when you build but it just looks so good. One of the rare sets that you can almost forget is actually made from Lego but just enough to remind you and appreciate the design the longer you look at it. I like 75292 but to me it’s just Lego in the shape of the Razorcrest.
  23. That’s not a particularly strong Strine accent. The Razor Crest is listed on KMart’s website but without stock so far. Therefore it’s not an Amazon exclusive in Australia. Only 169 dollarydoos as well.
  24. I don’t disagree but for perhaps another unpopular opinion, the October 2H wave last year was even better than this years 2H wave. All the designs were good to excellent and none were especially overpriced. The only negative is that it focuses on what turned out to be an underwhelming movie. Compared to this year which is another wave of good designs, but most are overpriced or unnecessary in the case of the ITS.
