The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
fatfrog2596 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Lego Store in Toronto (Fairview Mall) has a lot of the sets out already (Arkham, Penguin, Catwoman, Clayface excluded). An employee said the two boxes of figures they put out sold out within the hour. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
fatfrog2596 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Where in Canada is this? I've been check Toys R Us, Lego Stores, and Chapters/Indigo for the past few days and haven't found anything yet. Personally, I do it for the same reason that I checked this thread religiously in the fall for set pictures and details; some things are just nice to know/have early. It also just happens to be more convenient to check right now while on holiday and especially since I've had to buy and return gifts at the mall anyways. -

It wouldn't be a snowy Canadian winter without a trip up north to the ski resorts! -

Do you think we'll see the Crime Syndicate (Ultraman, Owlman, Johnny Quick...)? -
Nope, any combination of sets adding up to $75 (you can check on the website- just add everything you want to cart and Martian Manhunter should pop up).

I just ordered the Steamroller and Batmobile online, and the Martian Manhunter was automatically included. Am I guaranteed one? Also, it seems on the Order Description, it only lists the Steamroller, should I contact Lego?

As someone who hasn't heard of Guardians of the Galaxy prior to this movie, I'll be picking up the Milano Spaceship and the Knowhere Escape. These characters, despite me knowing very little about them are interesting enough to be a good selling point. On a separate note, does anyone know why the X-Men set, which only has 336 pieces is selling for $50?

Try checking out Walmart or a Lego Brand Retail store, the ones at Vaughan Mills and Fairview mall have the Riddler Chase as well as the Penguin Face Off. I love the designs of the DC minifigures, but I find the Batplane from the Joker Steamroller to look a little odd, does anyone know Lego's reference when coming up with the Batplane?

http://www.fbtb.net/2013/07/12/sdcc-usatoday-reveals-comic-con-exclusive-minifigs/ Looks like Green Arrow and Black-suit Superman from DC and Spiderman and Spiderwoman from Marvel will be this years SDCC exclusives. Disappointed about Green Arrow and Spiderwoman being exclusives to this year... -
Loving the Bantha and concept! The statue's a nice addition as well.

I'm hoping that in regards to next year's DC lineup that Lego would steer away from Batman themed sets and more towards the other heroes... but seeing as to how popular the Batman franchise is, it seems we have a while before seeing that this happens. On a side note, does anyone know if the Iron Patriot preorder bonus is available anywhere other than in the United States? I can't even find a preorder for the game on walmart.ca, let alone a bonus minifigure. -

The broken wall technique is amazing! Including the dumpster and sewer basin grate definitely completes the MOC. Best of luck on the contest!

Review: 79111 Constitution Train Chase
fatfrog2596 replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the stunning review and hi-res photos! I'm usually not too keen on trains but this one feels like a complete playset and has a very Wide West feel to it. Still debating whether I would have enough to buy this and the other sets on my Wish-List... but I will definitely be picking up the figures. It seems the quality of Lego figures and molds have drastically improved!- 44 replies

REVIEW: 71001 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10
fatfrog2596 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the fantastic and thorough review. This is definitely my all time favourite series. Might have to Bricklink a box of 30... I'm guessing now the seller would comb through its contents looking for the chase figure. Such a shame, as if including army building figures didn't sell enough.- 114 replies

Review: 76007 Iron Man: Malibu Mansion Attack
fatfrog2596 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great review and great pics! The quality of minifigure printing is incredible and the stickers give that high-tech look. However I think that we have enough helicopters from the Superheroes theme; I'd prefer if they added a sports car or extended the mansion instead. -
The non-CW figures are great! Looking forward to complete my Jabba and Jedi collection And where is that New York Yoda from?

The Iron Man in the first picture looks like he has CW Padme's face. The Iron Man sets are a bit disappointing but the figures look good Hopefully Man of Steel will be better! -

The Iron Man Suits are epic! Although it looks quite odd when the gold on the helmet does not match that of the suits.
