  1. It is a bit of both; high-demand ‘figs are more difficult to source unless you just buy hundreds of CMFs online from retailers (so that they have not been fondled), but sellers also know that desirable items will sell even at higher prices. The “secret cabal” is the BrickLink price guide - When sellers see that the average price for a given Minifig is $8 (for example), selling it for less than $7 is just throwing money away on their part.
  2. Definitely; resellers are criticised when the jack up prices on desirable Minifigs or rare elements (e.g. goat), but the ability to buy parts that are not available from PaB (to include licensed parts/‘figs) is an invaluable resource! Additionally, most parts are priced quite reasonably, and some Minifigs (mainly City) are actually cheaper to buy completed on BrickLink than in pieces from PaB. That, and the handling of CMFs. All CMFs cost the same to buy either from LEGO or retailers, and they have the same level of availability (production-wise, as each box now has the same number of each figure), so pricing the more desirable/massable ones significantly higher feels scummy (Orcs never went below $7-$8, IIRC). I get why it happens, but it is still frustrating.
  3. The leak also has sand blue prototype goats, so the colour of the horse could definitely change. Grey would be perfect, since it is more distinct than the other potential colours, and because it can be used easily for any faction (and because it only appeared once with the old mould!).
  4. Nothing is a direct tie-in, but the Buggoid elite is holding a plant that would not look out of place in the 2024 City Space sets. . . 🤔 I consider them to be a precursor to the Mars Mission team (similar logo, similar colour-scheme, similar focus on mining). Not necessarily. The Interstellar Spaceship is too small to transport all of the facilities and equipment that we see the team using, so unless we get a large transport ship with FTL capabilities sometime in 2HY, the theme is probably set somewhere in Earth’s solar system. The plants are combined with the crystals somehow to make “crystal-botanic batteries”. It seems like the purple batteries are just crystal-powered, while the pink ones are crystal-botanic. Two (one orange and one blue) have hearing-aids, and one (green team leader) has a HUD eyepiece. It seems popular (it is one of my favourites!), but we also seem to be waiting to see what colour the chainsaw will be and how orange the visor looks before passing final judgment.
  5. Black and white need to come back, but they at least exist (and can be purchased on BrickLink); I want to see an entirely new colour, such as dark tan, dark brown, grey, etc!
  6. We have gotten multiple Blacktron CMFs, a Space Police I remake CMF, a green Futuron redesign in City, numerous Classic Space-inspired figures in City and CMFs, and an Ice Planet torso in the Lunar New Year ice festival.
  7. Commander Cold. Which one the Minifig ends up being is dependent upon the colour of their belt; if it is silver (as it appears to be, despite the lack of a breathing harness), it will be Doctor Kelvin, but if it is gold, it will be Commander Cold. I am not sure that we can see the sides of the legs; I do see what you are looking at, but I do not think that the figure is angled enough to actually see the side (also, the image is blurry). Additionally, I am not sure why the legs would not be dual-moulded, both since it is common practice for CMFs (6/12 in Series 25 have dual-moulded legs!), and because the design of the legs is the same as on the Space Police Guy (who had dual-moulded legs). The bigger question for me is whether the Ice Planet astronaut will have dual-moulded legs; I certainly hope that they do! The head (particularly the mandibles) and legs are similar to those of the Sangheili from Halo. The Blacktron II mutant definitely has those lines (I am not as sure about the M;Tron astronaut, but he also seems to).
  8. You joke, but I would love this!
  9. They are colours that we have not gotten with modern X-shaped rib torsos and non-fading gold print, I mean. Also, Benny’s torso is not suitable for generic Blue Classic Spacemen. It is really frustrating, especially since we are not even getting a visor in trans-bright green, trans-yellow, or even (solid) lime to make up for it. 🫤 I like this one, but I am genuinely surprised that we did not get any references to Sea-Tron in the series, given the following that it has among Space fans; a “Space Diver” or “Fish Alien” would have fit in easily, and would be fairly easy to make. Those skis (the updated hingeless variant, at least) are still in production, so I am not sure why we did not get a simple recolour for this figure. What irritates me about this one is that it does not commit fully to being either a mutated Human or being a Blacktron II update; I feel like a mutated version of one of the City Space astronauts with a new moulded head would have been better. As it is, we have an underbaked but interesting concept, and half of an updated Blacktron II astronaut. My thoughts as well. 👍 Agreed! I am hoping that the new Ice Planet faceplate is a visor, so that it can be attached to different coloured helmets (though I can see it being a single mould, especially if the orange visor is moulded rather than printed).
  10. Recent series have been 50-50 M/F for applicable characters. Space series breakdown: Human suit (N/A), retro robot (N/A), retro space girl (F), M;Tron (M), UFO costume (M), vacaylien (N/A), Buggoid elite (N/A), NASA astronaut (??), Ice Planet (??), Blacktron II mutant (M), Orion (N/A), robo-nurse (F). Two female, three male, and two unconfirmed. The legs are dual-moulded, I believe; we cannot see the sides of the legs, but the white is too crisp to be printed over red! I feel like this figure was unintentionally set up to disappoint by the Minifig list, since it was described as an “Insectoid Alien” (so the expectation was that it would be a Zotaxian remake). Had the description been “Bug Alien”, “Buggoid”, or something else of that nature, no one would have an issue. I personally really like it! I am curious to see how that torso looks with the NASA astronaut’s jetpack piece.
  11. The only ones that stand out to me as being somewhat odd are the UFO suit guy and Orion; all others are a remade classic faction (M;Tron, Ice Planet, mutated Blacktron II), sci-fi archetype (MiB-style Human suit piloted by mini aliens, retro space girl, retro robot, Grey vacaylien), or fit naturally into a space/sci-fi setting (NASA astronaut, Buggoid elite, robot nurse).
  12. I think that the “abstract” complaint is about figures like Orion and the UFO costume guy. We got updated versions of the blue and black helmets without updated torsos to go with them, so there is definitely precedent for this.
  13. Like what? That is because those corpses (which were a hoax) and the vacaylien are both based on the same source material - Classic sci-fi Greys.
  14. I would personally not count this one, since only the broad concept is the same as the official figure. Also, I like yours better!
  15. Check Reddit and IG. If that were the case, though, why would a CS astronaut be excluded from CMFs in 2024? 🫤
  16. Agreed 100%! 👍
  17. It looks like trans-dark blue, since light blue is much lighter than what we see on the Spider-Car.
  18. I know, right?! What next, FEMALE robots?? Stupid Wokeism!! 😡
  19. Somewhat clearer pics are on Reddit! The Human suit has a cockpit window with alien pilot head print, the robot’s legs are a new part, the Vacaylien has normal arms and hands (I thought it might have new ones 😕), the bug elite has magenta detailing, and the Ice Planet astronaut does have an orange visor (still not sure if moulded or printed, and if the entire helmet is a single part or just the faceplate).
  20. I feel like that would just be splitting hairs at this point, since the 2024 City Space sets cover all of the ground that a standalone Space theme would (there is not even an Earth-based rocket launchpad!). Also, we have gotten space-themed Creator sets in the past, so getting one for CS (or another classic faction) would not really be indicative of anything; that could just be considered a one-off, like the Galaxy Explorer. Same! I am also now wondering if the ship will be for Blacktron II, and the Minifigs will reuse the CMF torso, since specifically a mutated Blacktron II astronaut is somewhat of an odd choice for an archetype ‘fig (they could have made a mutated generic astronaut, or mutated City Space astronaut, or mutated Classic Space astronaut, etc). 🤔
  21. Yes please!! We might get one in 2HY, since we have gotten Castle and Pirates ones after the necessary prints appeared in large D2C sets. I think that they already did with the City Space sets, and we are getting a black spaceship Icons set as well!
  22. I agree; I would gladly trade the flying saucer costume guy for a new CS colour!
  23. It is a Minifig of the constellation Orion; the figure is good, but a waste of a slot in an all-space series IMO. I am not sure how he is “woke”, though. Indeed! 😐
  24. The retro space girl is an archetype unto herself! How can you tell the sexualities of these Minifigs (or of any Minifig who is not wearing some kind of Pride clothing/accessory)?
  25. What are “woke Minifigures”??
