  1. Its kind of hard to see the modifications, would you mind writing what you have done? tim
  2. I bought mine at Home Depot for about 5 dollars each. Do you have a Home Depot near you? I would love more information! tim
  3. I have actually looked at that before and thought of making one, however, my 8043 arm is in pieces now as i build the huge demolition excavator version. Maybe after i am done i can salvage the arm and rebuild it. Once again i really like your mod . Could you post in more detail the lifting mechanism for the cab, i have no idea how you did it! tim
  4. very nice mod efferman, looks very realistic!! tim
  5. My next mod will be a demolition excavator similar to yours. tim
  6. But that solution does not have as much torque as 2 or 3 8/24 gear combinations together. tim
  7. very impressive TrTr Zblj. Could you post more close-up pictures of the wheels and how they attach to the turntable? tim
  8. I definitely agree with you. i would like to use the new gears more but they require more gears because the gear reduction of 12/20 inst nearly as slow as the 8/24 combinations. tim
  9. Wow that is huge! Looks very functional and its amazing to see how strong Lego beams really are. i cant wait to see the video!! tim
  10. But doesn't increased speed increase resistance thus making the gears slip even more? Well i haven't encountered a situation where the double bevel gears have slipped, but the 8t and the 24t gears have slipped before and i have actually broken many 8t gears. tim
  11. Unfortunately, sometimes i do this and the gears still slip . The key to limiting gear slipping is gear reduction. tim
  12. Here is my collection of attachments: First a rotating bucket: In the arm of the excavator, there is a m motor to power a PTO. Next is a grapple, unfortunately, i did not have a micro motor so the grapple does not rotate. Again it is driven by the PTO in arm of the excavator. Next is a ripper attachment to rip through the ground: Next to last is a jack hammer. It is driven by the PTo in the arm, which drives the axle up and down. Finally is the compacter. It has a rotating drum which packs down the ground. thats all the attachments. More pictures can be seen of my ultimate 8043 mod on my brickshelf gallery. tim
  13. Very impressive mod!! i was thinking of doing something similar. ohh and i will be able to post picturees of my mod tonight!! tim
  14. I would agree with the above post, the best way to connect two motors to drive one function is with a differential in between the two. tim
  15. Maybe the pick-up tow truck will be like Coney's pick-up tow truck? tim
  16. I am in love with the cab of this truck, very realistic and well built. tim
  17. haha yup i know the feeling exactly . tim
  18. haha i thought i was the only one who did that!!!! tim
  19. Nice job on the tarta. The cab looks really nice, especially with the new Unimog wheels. Its a shame that the cylinder has a hard time lifting the bed. tim
  20. I think maybe the best way to build up parts is buy sets rich in a variety of parts (like 8043 because of pf parts). Also, if you have a specific project in mind, ordering specific Lego parts from bricklink is probably the best may to complete a MOC. tim
  21. Wow that is a very clever idea! i bet if you had a mini cylinder you could make it much smaller. tim
  22. I dont think these are actual parts as said before. why do you need them anyway? tim
  23. Please post a video of this beast working, it would be a crime not to. tim
  24. Wow thats fantatstic and extremely original!! I will deffinitly try this idea when winter coems around my area again. tim
